I've only ever taken healthy dogs on the ferry, so don't know firsthand how it would work in your situation - however, I very much doubt that the crew would provide her with individual attention. I would recommend that you phone Spirit of Tasmania and ask them, that's they only way you will actually know for sure, and they are normally very pleasant to talk to. Or even ask them on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/spiritoftasmania?ref=ts&fref=ts :)

Love the new ones - thanks for posting photos of them! We finally visited Sheffield last October - it was wee hours of the morning, as we were heading home from Wynyard and turned off on the way just to visit Sheffield and checkout the murals. Too early in the morning for anything to be open yet and there was no-one around - we spent ages just wandering around discovering murals. It was quite a magical experience :D I'll have to have look through my photos now, just to refresh my memory of our visit :)

Neo - named after the character in The Matrix, he's "the chosen one" (well, he likes to think he is) Nova - named because OH wanted our next dog to be called Nova, but it suits her, because having her around is a bit like having a cataclysmic eruption around the place! Molly - again, because OH wanted the name :) Feonix - total bastardisation of the spelling of Phoenix to make it fit into an "F" litter, and because I didn't like the way it looked as Foenix  Radar - desperate attempt to find a name after we changed our mind last minute on which male pup to keep. We had intended to keep a different boy, and his pedigree name was Fargo, which would have been his pet name as well. Radar's pedigree name is Fletcher, which OH didn't like, so we had to find something else, and Radar was the only one we could agree on! Enya - my beloved heart dog, always with me in spirit, was in our "E" litter and was named after the musician :) Our last litter, which are Enya grandchildren (of which Nova is one), are all named after Enya songs, to keep the connection with my special girl :)

That is so sad, but so beautifully written.

Wow! What a torrid time you've been through!! Thank you for posting this thread and sharing your experience! Hope Sally continues to improve for you :) Apparently so. I have a friend who saw a marathon runner die in front of him from this.... over hydrating. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication Edited to add a link to Wiki

I thought food was meant to have dog hair in it? All ours does....

I almost peed myself with excitment at that link - but I checked with them before ordering, and they don't have them in stock (even though they were listed for sale on their site at that time) and they don't know when they'll be getting more in I see that they've now changed the listing to being out of stock.

Nova howls in her sleep regularly - she's a very active dreamer though :) The others will have bouts of kicking, growling, etc when they sleep, but Nova is by far the most active dreamer and the only one who howls :)

So the Certificate of Registration and Pedigree is for her sire, not for her? It doesn't surprise me that the other paperwork is for her sire (although I would actually expect copies of these for both sire and dam, not just sire), but you should be receiving a Certificate of Registration and Pedigree for your pup above and beyond any supporting paperwork that has been provided for her parents. It may be that the breeder is still waiting on the pedigree for your pup, and has sent through the other information in the meantime. The only way to know for sure is to contact them and check :)

Can Puppies Be Refused Challenge?
Allerzeit replied to Sexton Maremmas's topic in General Dog Discussion
Any dog can be refused challenge, it's the judges opinion on the day of the dog that they judge on the day. -
80kg Rottweilers - Is This Legit?
Allerzeit replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep, I'm with you on that thought! The thought of people breeding massively oversized rottweilers from dogs which I highly doubt have been anywhere near hip/elbow x-raying and scoring...... just the potential for joint problems makes my blood run cold. -
80kg Rottweilers - Is This Legit?
Allerzeit replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh, and as an idea - I have a male here (Neo) who is at the top end of the acceptable height - he is 50kg, and a female (Nova) who is at the top end of the acceptable height for a bitch, and she is 40kg. There is a "breed" (said very loosely) called the "Roman rottweiler" - which is basically the rottweiler version of the "teacup" for small dogs - a bastardisation of the breed to make the largest possible version (might involve crossing with Mastiff's, can't remember) - they are not bred by reputable breeders. -
80kg Rottweilers - Is This Legit?

Anybody talking about breeding dogs of that size, and talking about producing "big heads" is as shonky as the day is long. -
I agree, you are most likely reading it incorrectly. I read that and it says to me that they concentrate on having no more than 2 litters in total per year, not no more than 2 litters per bitch :)
-
I agree! It's been a long time since we had a girl who didn't cock her leg  We get the whole "all in" approach too - Feonix pees, then Radar pees over that, then Nova pees over that, then Radar goes again, then Feonix finds some more pee to use, and on and on it goes!

We've previously used Benadryl - the original formula. Hope she's better soon!

Qantas Says No To American Staffordshire Terriers
Allerzeit replied to Red Fox's topic in In The News
Albury Airport is almost larger than Hobart "International" Airport  We never flew any dogs out of Albury, but we did have one fly into Albury a few years ago :) -
Current AVA policy on the vaccination of cats and dogs: http://www.ava.com.au/policy/67-vaccination-dogs-and-cats I have yet to find a vet who is actually recommending anything other than annual vaccinations though. Our dogs are vaccinated annually only if required for being able to put them into boarding kennels.

I don't think you can purchase live vaccines online. Parvac is readily available, as it's a "killed" vaccine, but I don't think you can get the normal C3, etc - would love to be corrected if I'm wrong though!

OMG WTF??!!

Ohh pick me. I want to smooch Nova's little face! If you wanted to smooch the cute little face in my signature, then we would have to travel back in time raz :D However, if you wanted to smooch her "not-so-little-anymore" face, then c'mon down!

It always saddens me when I hear that people have had negative experiences with the breed, and this has (understandably) influenced how they feel about the breed I wish I could introduce those people to our dogs so that they could experience Rotty goodness and smooches, rather than bad behaviour!
