  1. Haha, she'd go home with anyone who gives her cuddles.
  2. She definitely showed up Varda, though he couldn't have cared less. Oh and I'm so sorry Ness, I didn't realise who you were until I was packing up to go home and Tobster said about you holding Halo and that's when the penny dropped!
  3. We had a fantastic time at the Come and Try today - will definitely be trying to get Halo involved when she's older. She had an absolute blast!
  4. We're normally done with group by lunch (around 12ish) and then show is after lunch. ;) If you come, come and say hi. I'll have the only lappie (at the group 5 ring) and so will be pretty easy to find, and I'm normally with the Aussie Shepherd people. :D
  5. I've been expecting Halo's ears to drop again, but she's almost finished teething and they're still up. Maybe she decided that her ears were down the longest out of the litter so she didn't need to put them down again.
  6. I am assuming other people than Rotweiler owners can come along? I have a rhodesian Ridgeback and would love to come to the session this coming Thursday 5th May. thanks for the info too And Lucious.....did you get your Cane Corso Locally?? I was looking to get one and decided on a Rhodesian Ridgeback.......I am a bit jealous :D If you come along, I'll be there with my lappie. Will say hi. Show on Sunday is at 9am - they're normally early. We'll be there the weekend after on Sat at 9 am for Dublin KC and that's an all breeds.
  7. Our Husky has a sensitive belly - she gets the runs. We cut out anything processed except her kibble at first, which hardened her stools a bit, but she would still get sloppy stools occasionally. So then we removed ALL extra treats so she only got kibble. Same thing happened. So then I thought about the kibble and realised she's always been fed a chicken kibble. Have switched her to a Salmon based one specifically for sensitive bellies and not only is she scoffing her dinner (she's always eaten slowly so I think she likes this one) her stools have been fantastic since we changed her food two weeks ago. In the next few weeks, I'm going to add back in sardines to see if that'll upset her belly again.
  8. The naughty Husky hated the lead at first - we got through it by having the lead on her and luring her forward with food. If she walked forward on the lead she'd get the treat. However we were so excited to get her walking that we let her pull and that caused issues later. Pretty sure Halo came lead trained. She was an angel in comparison!
  9. Diesel's Mate, I'm pretty sure the Collie Club entries closed yesterday - you'd need to ring them and send off your entry today if they'll accept late entries.
  10. I witnessed that.....CONGRATULATIONS Lovely to hear the excitement that went with it They are lovely shows aren't they, the Lappie folk had a blast in and out of the ring :p Congrats! And yes, we had a great time. I think we'll be back next year, hopefully with no killer spiders this time! ;)
  11. Lappies shed only when they drop their coat - so once a year for a male, twice a year for an entire female. It's a lot of hair at that point, but the rest of the year its next to nothing so easy to deal with. Most Spitz breeds are like this. And you can get some lower energy lappies or high energy lappies. My lappie matches my Husky's energy levels even though she's a pup, so it works out well. Plus they're real family dogs and I haven't yet met a lappie that doesn't like kids. And the boys are HUGE cuddlers.
  12. I'm the same, fun day out for catching up with friends. I don't expect to get anywhere. If I do it will be a worry because I'm flying in and flying out for the day! :D We weren't going until we found out who the judge was, so I'm pretty sure there'll be a few lappie people.
  13. I wondered about that, I spent ages looking for the offending posts earlier, all to no avail. Was very confuddled! :D I was reading it as it was being pruned and it was all very confusing as posts disappeared before my eyes.
  14. I have a friend who was not feeling so good and was lying in the backseat while her mother went and did shopping with her Maltese cross bouncing up and down on her stomach. Someone walked past and exclaimed about the dog being unattended in the car and she sat up and glared at them. If people had just looked, they would have realised that there was someone else there.
  15. When Akira went in, she wasn't allowed to eat after 7pm the night before. So she got her dinner and didn't have breakfast before she went in for her operation. She wasn't really hungry the night after the op (poor thing was a bit out of it).
  16. People who come on here don't really realise that their actions on here are seen by half the dog world do they? Good luck to her trying to find anyone to help her now. Will be good to be able to pick what forums come up in the new posts.
  17. I have a dog shelf in my laundry cupboard and a grooming box. My dog shelf houses harnesses, leads, shampoo, treat belt, etc and my grooming box houses everything I need for shows - show leads, brushes, number holder, etc.
  18. There's a handler class run by the Rottweiler Club that we go to - it's held every first and third Thursday of the month at 8:15pm and costs $3. It's in the city. http://www.rottweilerclubsa.com.au/index.php?id=60
  19. Ah good question, I don't have his contact details, at least not on me anyway. You can PM him on here.
  20. Member Wayrod on here is fantastic, he transported my Lappie puppy from Melbourne to Adelaide in January.
  21. Hope they all come with good luck Unfortunately Halo didn't do so well on hers, but I'm sure it's just an early hiccup.
  22. The really crazy thing was that on the Monday when they started to get really bad, a soft crate was put down for five minutes and in that time was COVERED in little spiders. OH sprayed the car with insect repellant before we got in it, and there were webs as far as 200km away in Keith on our way home. It was just nuts.
  23. I use it for SA. I just find that if I save all of my entry forms to the briefcase and then print them all at once it changes my state to ACT which is annoying.
  24. Yep, completely agreed, it's definitely got a high enough fat content for puppies, but for a true elimination diet no way. We put Akira on it a few weeks back to get rid of chicken being a main ingredient in her diet (she has a sensitive stomach) and it's definitely helped her but we have to be very careful that she doesn't put on too much weight on it.
  25. Thanks for the reply... Did she have a course of 2 or 3 vac's? She obviously survived She had two vaccs. I had her out and about before her second vaccs too - my older dog does obedience, so she came along and wasn't put down obviously, but she got to get used to the sights and sounds, and I took her for her first walk around the streets at 13 weeks old, a week after her final vaccs. Either us or our older dog could have easily contaminated things anyway because Akira doing obedience and agility goes to areas that would be contaminated. IMO socialisation is more important than parvo risk, we obviously do things to minimise the risk but I wanted to get her out and about.
