Anti Bouncy Bargains For Controlling Those Puppies !
whiskedaway replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
Harris Scarfe actually have more sizes than stated on the Berlei page, I had a look today and they had some 18E's But the question is, do they have 10E's for those of us who are small but have big bouncers? -
Oh that's interesting. I had always assumed it was a country-thing because all my North American friends always referred to their dogs as Sibes whereas over here, people I knew called them huskies. It kind of is, because the main Huskies we have here are Sibes. Alaskan Huskies aren't as common in Australia as they are in North America. I sometimes say Sibe, sometimes say Husky. Really depends on what I feel like at the time. The lappie is always a lappie though.

My cat had one on her side from about the age of 10 until she died at 16. Never caused her any issues.
-
Umm I don't remember either, but we'll be at show training tomorrow night, so if you are too we can compare them then! :D Yup will be there.
-
I betcha he's way bigger than Halo now, Cassie. I can't remember if he was bigger than her two weeks ago, but she's only 12kg.

With our Husky, we wanted a black and white with blue eyes. We got the black and white, but not the blue eyes, but we were happy to compromise on that. If we ever got another Husky, we'd probably get a different colour, just because I wouldn't want to compare to Akira. We'll only ever have one Husky at a time. With Halo, we preferred a domino, but we got a black tri. I didn't really mind too much on the colours at all, the only colour we didn't want was a cream, and that's because OH has a thing against light coloured dogs. We did want a light face though, but if the show pick had been a darker girl, we would have gone with that.

Both my lappie and Husky get it - as you can see in my sig below. It's normal.

I agree WOW the crufts pics were very interesting! Love the one of the little boy asleep with the Setters.
-
Wow, look at the pic from Crufts.

My cheque went missing from an entry - the show sec and I couldn't work out what happened because the envelope hadn't been tampered with in any way, and the cheque was definitely not in my pile of show entries at home. Had to send them another cheque, ring the bank and get the old cheque cancelled (at a cost of $15). I was so grateful that they were so understanding but I still felt so bad!

What Did You Take Your Pup Home In?
whiskedaway replied to Aztec Gold's topic in General Dog Discussion
Both of mine have ridden home on a lap, though the longest was only a trip from the airport which was 45 minutes. That was Halo and she was very happy to be out of the crate when she got off the plane. -
Omg! The Crate Is Massive! Where Do You Keep Yours?
whiskedaway replied to Aztec Gold's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have one blocking the frontdoor/path behind the couch (we never use our front door) and one in the bedroom. Ours are only 36" though so a bit smaller. -
I'm the same. I'd love a cat (had cats all my life) and I love horses, but I'm definitely a dog person.

Do Breeders Like To Hear From Their Sold Puppies?
whiskedaway replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
My poor breeder gets way too many questions from me but she always replies. Sometimes I wonder if I drive her mad. If I ever decide to breed, I will be very excited to get emails from my puppy buyers. I think staying in contact is important. -
I got prefix number 5 (Lastsong), and that was much more common than any of my first four - there's even a movie named Last Song! I did my research and hadn't found the others anywhere else, but maybe they were too close to overseas prefixes.

From the Dogs SA Prefix application form:

I am so sorry, Gayle. I am so sorry for your loss. Huge hugs. RIP Benson.

Halo loves squeeky toys, her favourite is her Bad Cuz toy because it squeeks, bounces in different directions and doesn't die. Akira loves soft toys (the faster they die and she can pull the stuffing out the better) and she loves rope tug toys. Both girls love an empty coke bottle with a bit of kibble in it to chase around the yard.
-
This is one of my faves, I have a fair few more at home.
-
Akira is my OH's baby. Even if he's in a really bad mood (such as the other night, where the dogs killed wires on the trailer and started trying to make another hole in the grass before I got home from work) Akira just has to walk in the room and he'll get a big cheesy grin on his face and say "it's my puppy". He loves Halo too, but its just not the same.

They have to be main registered and between 3-6 months. That's it. ;)
-
Yep, I'll be there. We'll also be at the obedience class beforehand.
-
I on the other hand HAVE seen a judge refuse challenge, and yes it was group 5. I have seen a whole lineup of males from a particular breed refused challenge, in group 5. It definitely does happen.

Interceptor Does interceptor come as chews or a tablet? And is it just Heartgard that's affected, or is it also Valuheart, the generic version? (I use Heartgard for one dog and Valueheart for the other due to the little one's refusal to eat any tablets even if they're chewable.)

She is panting all the time as this is a normal sign of labour starting. She may pant for hours before contractions start. Her lungs are fine. Why are you praying the Poodle is the father ? Curious ? Smaller pups? She might have trouble whelping pups from a mastiff.
