  1. I've heard it's a great food. When I was looking into a better food, I looked at it but, I decided to feed a raw prey model diet. I can feed a raw diet so so much cheaper than I could Artemis. I've already seen improvement in his teeth, stool, and energy level.
  2. Aw Hayley I'm sorry, are you okay? A whole beef liver where I live is $3, and they're HUGE, you could add that in with some super cheap cereal/pasta/rice. True blue is $20 for 20 KG where I am, and Coprice is $30 for 20 KG. Also, homebrand kind of foods are usually very cheap. I hope everything is alright!
  3. Alot of dogs it stops them although my friend has a dog that was desexed at 8 weeks and he lifts his leg. My male dogs are intact and one squats rather than lifting his leg, another lifts his leg, and my male puppy squats. I guess you can never be sure.
  4. I let them walk infront of me, beside me, behind me, aslong as he doesn't pull it really doesn't bother me.
  5. I think if your dog has a solid recall you'll be fine. I'm not sure how you feel about choke chains but, I used one for when my Aussie tried to chase bikes and cars, and he leaves them alone now.
  6. Thats what they were originally bred to be, not a soft pet. I don't see the problem.. a good breeder isn't going to let an irresponsible person who just wants a 'mean' dog to look tough buy a puppy.
  7. People are such idiots. I was walking my Aussie and an overweight staffy with a huge studded collar ran up and started barking at us through a fence, he had his hackles up, and was growling. My Aussie started barking too, and the owner came out and yelled at ME to control my ugly mongrel. Atleast I'm not the one who has a dog to look tough? I have nothing against any bully breed but, some people just shouldn't own dogs.
  8. Do you think BARF is a better option than prey model? I was looking into prey model rather than BARF because my dog usually won't eat veggies, I guess he's a typical boy huh?
  9. My Aussie goes swimming in our dam, and he gets this digusting grey sludge everywhere in his coat. I rinse him off with the hose, and then use a diluted conditioner spray and comb him. If I forget to rinse him off, I wet him with warm water, and rub conditioner into his coat, and then it combs straight out.
  10. IMO they should be health testing, regardless of how uncommon the breed is. That said if I REALLY wanted the dog, I'd probably go for it. I think it depends on whether you're willing to settle for a different breed or not.
  11. I have a 1 year old Aussie, and he's started getting dry skin, and scratching alot. I've been reading about raw feeding, specifically prey model and how it's meant to help improve skin and coat condition. I have no idea where to start though. Any advice on getting started?
