  1. I'd say his but I've only had one bitch that has gone on heat so maybe someone with more experience may think different. There is an entire male over our back fence and random dogs that wander the steets ( ) so when Juno was on heat she was NEVER outside unsupervised and I also advised the neighbours with the entire male that she was on heat. She is the only dog I've ever had go through a heat and when I was reading up on what to do it pretty much said don't rule out anything as impossible when it comes to what a dog will do to get to a bitch in heat so I just didn't leave anything to chance.
  2. I searched and serached your website only to reread your post and realise I should have been looking at your Fb page! Hope is such a gorgeous girl, love that smile! Puppies are gorgeous! Will be keeping an eye on your page as they grow! You must be very proud :D Congratulations!
  3. Just saw on Facebook there have been a lot of thefts of Bullbreeds around Bendigo too. This is the post I saw on Facebook: "Dogs are being stolen in bendigo and surrounding areas in big numbers! Mainly staffys, bull terriers, Pitt bulls and other similar breeds. A white male covered in tattoos and another man with no description at this stage may have something to do with it. They are driving a white (possibly vr or similar model) commodore. These 2 men were driving around a young boy yesterday 3 times and on the 4th time pulled over and made a remark "nice dog ya got there" not sure on the rest of the details of the conversation. Anyone with breeds of dogs like this please be very careful with them when not home or at night. It has been suggested that these dogs are being stolen as "bait" for other dogs in illegal dog fighting rings!" Poor babies.
  4. I'm currently reading Shaping Success by Susan Garrett (Recommended by a Doler last week :D ) It has a lot of shaping games you can do with your pup to set them up for a future in agility etc. So far I'm finding it a great read and wish I had a copy when my girl was a bub!
  5. Congratulations Sutton! good luck with obedience! This is Juno's graduation pic. My goodness she was so little! Funny to think she was the big girl in class too!Her best friend in class was a little Westie Cropped to remove me
  6. Same here my first baby too! I haven't taught her any new tricks in awhile so will have to get back into it! Her list isn't as long as your bubs so we've got some catching up to do I haven't really been in the tricks area on here much so will have to check it out
  7. Cheers for the reccommendation. Have ordered it and can't wait for it to arrive! Me and my girl Juno will be attending our first agility class on Sunday :D
  8. My other dog was already trained when I got her, I assume using the standard method of guiding, so it took her a while to realise that she didn't have to wait to be told what to do, she could just throw something out there and see what happens. I wouldn't get angry if she got it wrong, the worst thing that could happen was that she didn't get her treat, so she could just try again. It took several months before she caught on. My girl was about 6 months old when I started reading about clicker training(I'm still very new to it! ) I had similar problems because she was already used to being lured or being told to do something. I tried the '101 things to do with a box' game and that really helped her catch on! It's a couple of years off butI can't wait to start clicker training from day one with our next pup! :D
  9. I personally wouldn't. As mentioned before a name is special, it's the very first thing you give to your dog and it lasts past their life time! :D I don't have kids yet but one day if I have a son I would like to name him after my grandfathers name. In instances like this I guess it could work with dogs too, if enough time had passed and it was named in honour of with no expectations placed on new dog. For me enough time would probably be decades Names are a very personal thing to some and don't really matter at all to others, each to their own I do like the 'Spike' and 'Like' that is cute
  10. Great to hear that he's gotten approval from the whole pack! He was just meant to be :D
  11. Naw what a cute little munchkin. Looking Daper Harper!
  12. Wow! Such a cute puppy and what a lovely pair they make :D I love seeing bully breeds with unlikely friends
  13. Just gorgeous Thanks for sharing!
  14. Wow what an amazing story! Tears here too. Just beautiful for sharing!
  15. Yay Feather! Awesome shots as well!I can't pick a favourite, I love the action shots but she looks so gosh darn cute in her bath robe. Such a serious little face!
  16. Amazing pictures, Thanks for sharing Awesome to see dogs in their element and loving every minute of it. Your girl Feather is my Fav, got to love the little grey face :D
  17. Just Beautiful THanks for sharing and making me aware of the plight of the beagle
  18. She'll happily lie beside him on the dog bed or the sofa, but if he starts pestering her she'll tell him off. I know she won't hurt him so I'm only intervening to calm him down, not to correct her. I doubt it'll be long before they're playing biteyface together Bruno definitely suits him! That video is so simialar to our old SBT and our Young Amstaff. Zola likes to show pups how to play her way and then it's on. She is now 11 yrs old but still loves a game of bitey face. She is invaluable with pups. I am completely intrigued by his colouring and markings! I like your description of Blue fawn Smut tan point! In some of the inside photos and the video he almost looks blue tan point but then he is so much lighter outside. He's like a blue fawn with a twist :D
  19. I've been waiting to see more pics of Bruno since you put the first ones up on the bull breeds in need page! He is such a handsome little dude! Looks like he's fitting in well. When our girl Juno was a baby me and OH agreed that we'd use a sharp 'ah' instead of 'no' with her because of the similar sound to the name. I don't think she'll ever catch onto the word 'no' Lucky she understands 'ah' and 'leave it'
  20. Signed and shared. That is just horrifying. Poor little beagles
  21. OH is a shift worker so it's just me and the girls(Amstaff and SBT) during the week and we have the best snuggles :D It's fine when it's freezing and they sleep under the doona with me but when they sleep on top they end up stealing the doona Completely different story though when OH isn't working.I found his 'TO Do' list yesterday and down the bottom he had added buy king sized bed Guess me and the girls aren't used to sharing with him anymore!
