Ahhhhhhhhh, nice and simple....I like it
-
Actually, maybe it's just because I only just got out of bed and it's early but the patch on Kites face looks like a duck.

Love the paw print and Kite is gorgeous I see why they call it a clown face, it very nice.

I have heard a lot of good reports about these holistic feeds. I must go and find a pack and read the ingredients. Pal, Chum and all those kind of supermarket foods are just slop slapped into a can. 80% water and 20% crap. What goes in......must come out. Feed sloppy food and you will have sloppy poos and an upset tummy I think most of the feeding comes down to trial and error as each dog is individual, but be a bit smart about it, read ingredients and use common sense. feeding doesn't have to be confusing. A 'generally' balanced diet will give you a healthy puppy so long as your puppy does not have any special needs. I agree on the pigs ears and similar treats. They are just that "TREATS" and there is a reason they produce wicked gas. When I ask clients what they feed their dogs the initial answer usually is "just dry buscuits" and then you quiz them more about treats and things and they generally come out with "Oh yeah"...." and he has a pigs ear in the car, and a small meat roll for lunch and a bone after dinner"..."oh and I always share my salami sandwich" (these are owners of dogs with Pancreatitis of Gastro Intestinal upsets) What...these items aren't food??? If asked about pigs ears etc, I equate them to chocolate. Feeding your dog one pigs ear is like you sitting on the couch and eating a family block of chocolate (in calories) Pigs ears and similar are really high in protein and any dogs prone to Pancreatitis should stay away from theses things. If owners are still confused and eat a lot of junk themselves I ask them if they would feed their children chocolate for breakfast and fried fatballs for lunch. They tend to get the gist of it by the end of the conversation.

Ok, I'm joining in.................. I am a COMPLETE photography novice. I know NOTHING about how to use the manual settings on ym camera or how to photoshop. So these are straight out of my camera and have not been touched up AT ALL. After viewing some of your wonderful photo's I thought I might try and learn something about my camera though as it is quite a good one. So here goes: My old horse BEAR at play: On our fence post last summer: Scenery around Marysville pre-fires.

Exactly what I was thinking..... CW EW, if I tell Nandi to come she just look at me thinking, “why would I" and ignores me.... It sounds like dogzonline has a lot of really happy puppies! (Wake Nandi up to do some training....... ) well I thought Katie was clever until I read this thread. Still very proud of her though...but I know what you mean about the 'come' thing Katies general response to that is:
-
that sound cute.....can't wait to see
-
wow, there's some impressively clever puppies (with impressively clever and dedicated owners) here. Seems Katie and I have some catching up to do...and I thought we were doing well
-
I'll start. This is Katie with an S on her head. It stands for SUPERPUP and all she needs now is a cape.

No more nightmares to date, just the usual chasing something and suckling dreams.

I see a lot of sultana toxicity at work. Sometimes we get a double or tripple whammie as dog presents with chocolate toxicity, we induce vomiting only to find the chocolate was fruit and nut. Some nuts are also toxic. Not all dogs are affected by sultanas but we always err on the side of caution and make owners aware of the risks even if vomiting was induced only an hour or so after ingestion. Owners HAVE to know the risk/worst case scenario.

Whats The Best Way For Worming, Flea Treatment Etc?
matilda1 replied to goldee's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I buy the advocate off ebay from an omline petstore. Do a search for it there and you will find many with very competitive prices. -
PS: Nandi is ADORABLE

Aww! After reading that, im thinking i better get on to training mine (whos the same age!) She has just mastered 'sit'. She does fetch, but hasn't learnt to drop the item for me to throw it again! She can be pretty cluey - we've set up a gate to stop her getting to the rest of the house and she works it out every single time. She's off to puppy school soon so i am hoping i will learn stuff to so i can teach her. Toilet training is going ok - shes had a few accidents in the house but mainly due to us not taking her out quick enough after a drink or shes excited someone has came home and just cant contain herself! But she hated her crate and cried for ages in there. Instead she goes in the laundry between 10 and 11 and is quite until 6 or 7 - and no messes either. Soon as we put her in there she doesn't even make a sound, not even a cry. Naww, thanks. Katie really has to be one of the most intelligent pups with the kindest nature I have EVER met. I am very very lucky. We have had a bit of a breakthrough with the toilet training today too.

retained puppy teeth are quite common. No big deal. As mentioned above, usually the vet will extract them at time of desexing if they're still there.

now there's soemthing to look forward to stormie.

this is a GREAT thread katie is 10 weeks old and can shake hands, sit, roll over, drop and is learning to crawl. She plays fetch and mostly sleeps through the night unless one of the older dogs wakes her. She comes to work with me each day and I can ask her to go to her bed and she will lay on it quietly and play with toys waiting for me to take her for a quick spin to burn off some energy. We're still working on toilet training though Mostly she is a brilliant puppy and I am very proud of her.

Thanks KB. katies had a great life from day dot. her breeder was FANTASTIC. So a genuine nightmare i presume for no good reason. She is a very quiet and submissive dog who probably worries a lot.
-
Thanks, it's comforting to know that others have them too. Not that I am glad your dog has to go through it, but I have had dogs ALL my life and have never seen a nightmare before. I think it freaked us both out. It's nice to know it's not abnormal.

My two JRT's wear coats when it's cold and wet even though they have a cosy kennel. Occasionally one will take his coat off and on average I need to buy new coats every season as eventually they get chewed through rough and tumble and play. My ACD doesn't wear a coat as she is inside still (only 10 weeks) but I don't think she will need a coat even when grown up as she has a double coat as it is.

In my opinion you would be better off doing the Cert IV through AIRC http://www.provetlearning.com.au/CoursesWo...13/Default.aspx we have one of their mentors/assesors in our clinic here in Victoria. Personalyy I went through Box Hill Tafe but I am not sure if they take interstate students. AIRC has a very very good reputation. And YES....you need a minimum of 15 hours per week of employment. I think you can do cert II in Animal Studies without employment, but I suggest you check on that too.

I didn't pander to her at all. The poor little thing LEAPT up in fright and was on my lap before I even knew she was awake. She was TERRIFIED almost to the point of shaking. I've never seen anything like it. I normally just ignore the puppy dreams and let them dream.
-
Unfortunately just about ALL drugs carry some risk. Most of the cases of IMHA and IMT are probably caused by our yearly vaccinations. I'm not sure there is a solution at hand, just a matter of wheighing up the risks.

What do puppies dream about? Last night little Katie must have had a nightmare. I was sitting watching TV and she was fast asleep at my feet. She started dreaming like puppies often do with her little feet paddling and quiet barks in her sleep. Suddenly she woke up almost screaming, looked around and lept up on my lap wanting cuddles. She was terrified........... poor little girl must have had a nightmare. :D ;) It took about 5 minutes before she seemed to forget about it. She was really quite concerned. clinging to me and quietly crying.
