  1. I was just browsing the officeworks website (after Ravyk mentioned their $200 laptops!), and found this bargain. http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/produ...eras/CA1000DTKB
  2. :) Omg, he is hysterical! :D Agree!!
  3. I go with the date the first one is born. I had heard somewhere that you go with the date the majority were born.
  4. I was wondering this as well, as a certain webite has many pitty breeders Aus wide selling pups. I also thought, whether you manage to register them or not, that they could not be legally bred, and therefore sold in Aus. My understanding was that if you already own a pitty, it has to be registered with council, it has to be desexed, and in essence once the existing pitties in Aus die out, then that will be the end of the breed here. Is the "rule" that a pit bull cannot be bred from in Aus?
  5. I love a challenge! :D I just had it on handheld night mode.
  6. Try rearranging the letters to make something like WEST, then add something to the front - ANKR (the dogs are anchored to your heart) Also there is STAND, KREW, TRI, WERK, KANDY, TREW, SIND etc etc Then combine it with something else. TREWERKR (true worker!) Adding Peach: KRISPEACH PEACHWERK I really like Peach Park that someone mentioned earlier.
  7. My prefix was some thing like the 27th choice - they sent the first lot back and said try again Same here. Was soooo hard coming up with 10, let alone 30!! I love what they let me have anyway - EbonyPark. I wanted something to reflect my first bitch (she was black), and also wanted something that could be used as a property name. I looked up other languages for "black". I wanted Nera as my black part, but didn't get any with that. With a property name I wanted it to be something that would suit any size - ie: if we moved back to suburbia something like rolling acres would be a bit weird. I found it difficult to come up with anything when I was trying to incorporate breed traits, too many similar prefixes to work around. Gayle: Love your prefix! I think it's a great fit. :D
  8. Took the kids to the local fireworks and thought I'd take the new toy along. I think these are the best, keeping in mind camera was in one hand, and my freaked out 2 yr old was in the other hand! I looove the second shot. ETA: stupid resized photos. will redo with flickr... 9. Thanks mish. The kit lenses are 18-55 and 55-200. As I have never had a Dslr before I have nothing to compare them to for determining whether they are any good or not. All my shots in the link were with the 55-200. Lucky it doesn't cost anything to take the photo - I walked around my yard for hours taking pics of anything and everything. Amazing the things you notice with a camera in hand!
  10. What type of shots do you use those lenses for KK? Have added a few more pics to Flickr if anyone is interested. http://www.flickr.com/photos/53341978@N06/...57625577784169/ I did start having a play on Picasa (thanks Pers!) but my computer kept crashing.
  11. WoW! Amazing shots! Love the sunset Lappiemum, and Weibritty's first one.
  12. Thanks guys! Had another play this arvo and took a bazillion photo's. Gonna go see if I got any decent shots. BTW what lenses do you Sony people use? Are there some basics that are useful for a wide range of stuff or are the kit lenses (18-55 and 55-200) enough?
  13. I don't know Dobermans, but I don't even feed my adult male Lab near that much, and he is about 41kg. My girls get half as much as my boy. I don't do 3 meals a day for pups that age either.
  14. Really? I didn't think that was a particularly good one, but it was the only one that had all 4 dogs in focus, though boofhead is in the way! Thank you for the link Pers. Rex: Mr Interest free is my friend for the next 12 months. The Sony was a good $400+ cheaper than the Canon, plus there is a $100 cash back too, so thats certainly a bonus. Probably would have gone for the a55, but it wasn't in stock, and I wasn't walking out empty handed in case OH changed his mind.
  15. Sorry, I'll go change it! I read Possums post wrong and thought she meant 1 pic was decent and the rest were crap (was appreciating the feedback!!), not that she couldn't see them! I'm sure I've uploaded pics from flickr before, but maybe it was photobucket?? ETA: All fixed, you should be able to see them now.
  16. Thanks Kja and Kirs! Hoarding all this info, lets hope the brain retains it!

The panorama is just taken over the back fence. I'm happy to take some constructive criticism since I have zero photographic knowledge apart from press the button!!
  18. Well, I have been researching for the past couple of months, and decided on the Canon 550D purely from seeing the amazing pics taken by fellow DOLers. So after many phone calls to all the local places (as OH refused to buy online re: dodgy warranties ) we headed off to Joyce Mayne to pick up my new camera. I didn't actually leave the store with the 550 though. After mentioning that I wanted to be able to get action shots of the dogs we were given a demo of the Sony a33. Pretty darn impressive! So after to-ing and fro-ing between the 2 models for about an hour (and stressing if we had done the right thing ) we ended up walking out with the a33 with twin lens kit. The Sony does 7fps as compared to the 3.7 with the 550D, so I'm keen to master that! But I am in loooove with the panorama mode. Not too skilled at that yet, but keen to learn more. I took a rediculous amount of photo's this arvo, just having a play, but all on auto, as I have a LOT of learning to do. I'm just sooo excited to join the world of SLR-ers!! Apologizing in advance for the photo overload... (without editing - cos I don't know how to)
  19. Never a dull moment with your tribe! ETA: Naughty Champa.
  20. RIP Sam. What a lovely tribute.
