  1. Thank you Gayle, I will keep my eyes open. :D
  2. I don't even know where to start! :D My beagle x chews and completely wrecks any toy she gets. Squeaky toys, kongs, frisbees... you name it. If there's a bit of paper or rubbish in the backyard she tears it up straight away. A few weeks ago our backyard actually looked like a dump. We had put an old bed mattress outside for our two dogs to sleep on and within a day she had ripped the entire mattress up; It looked like it had snowed. Our other dog (a jack russell) doesn't like playing with toys or anything and she never tears anything up. She's a good girl. Hello Gorgeous: Oh myyy, I thought my dog was the only one who has a thing for feathers. She's actually petrified of them! We found an eagle feather one day at a sanctuary up the road and brought it home and it fell on the loungeroom floor. She barked and pawed at it for ages but refused to touch it!
  3. I have never seen that site but I actually made my dog her own FB page today for laughs. :D
  4. What a clever boy! Thank you for sharing... I have a beagle x cocker and her sense of smell is great too. She's always got her nose to the ground. :D
  5. Here are the latest ones that I have made: If you would like me to make you one let me know. Btw, Rach those are great!!
  6. I just checked and yes we do have a few cans of tuna in the cupboard. Found it stashed right at the back. That should be enough until tomorrow, they don't eat very much. Indi is a beagle x and Coco is a Jack Russell. Thanks guys. :D It's been pretty difficult lately, considering our car rego has just ran out today as well. It's just one thing after another but we will get by. :D Edit: Gayle, we do have some veggies; I might grate some up like you suggested as well.
  7. Our financial situation isn't the best right now. We don't even have a few dollars to buy a can of dog food; it's been horrible lately. So what's something that I could feed them? We have rice and other bits and pieces in the cupboard. Any suggestions? We have pasta too... is that good for dogs?
  8. Haha, Lottie is SO adorable! Very stylish outfit she has there. :D
  9. This is actually quiet interesting... I've only ever inquired with Aussie breeders. A pet quality pup was $900 from two different breeders. Another was $1100. I have a loooong way to save until I finally get my Aussie. Edit: these were all breeders from VIC; i haven't looked into breeders in other states just yet.
  10. I agree with the others, try posting this in the rescue section as well.
  11. I would say that he is a senior, as he's a large breed. My friend has a GSD and he's still healthy at the ripe age of 14. I'm sure that if you continue what you are doing to keep him healthy then you will have many more fun-filled years with him.
  12. Congrats on a healthy litter of pups! Can't wait to see pictures. I never knew shelties could be black and white. Edit: Awwww!!! They are so adorable.
  13. You better watch him carefully... Our friend's stupid neighbour but chillis/peppers down the side of her fence so her dog would stop trying to get under the fence.. and our friend's dog ate one. He swallowed it and it got stuck; he was fine for a while but our friend ended up having to take him to the vet because he couldn't breathe a few hours later. The vet had to make him vomit it up. So yeah, just be watching him for signs of distress. He would be drinking a lot, it's probably burning his mouth. You could try milk or dairy based foods such as yoghurt.
  14. Ohhh, that sounds much easier then my way. Give that a try Jacqi and if you can't figure it out I'm sure we can help you from there.
  15. Hi Jacqi, I have some experience with Power Point; I know how to go through every slide and change them to be the same size. But it is hard to explain. If you email me the file I will give it a go.
  16. I don't see why a dog wouldn't be allowed to be in the car with you while you drive through there; As long as it can't get out. Edit: Now that I think about it, we have driven through a national park with both of our dogs last year; The staff there knew that they were in the car and we didn't get in trouble.
  17. Ewww haha! My beagle nearly blows you away when she lets one rip. She had a different brand of dog food last night and we definitely suffered the consequences. She usually sleeps in my bed or on the floor near the heater in my room and it was so bad! I had to put her in the laundry.
  18. Thanks for an interesting article. I'm off to read the other ones people posted as well.
  19. Aww, she looks like such a sweetheart. I'm glad to hear that she is now on her way to recovery... Hope she feels better soon. That last picture with your dogs laying with her is just precious.
  20. Name: Indi Nickname: Dopey, Fatty Breed: Beagle x Cocker Spaniel Gender: Female Age: 20 months Picture: Below Where did you get them from? Unfortunately we didn't get her from a "proper" breeder How often do you exercise your dog? She's really lazy, but she gets plenty of exercise chasing our other dog around and playing ball/going for walks every few days... Not so much lately though, the weather is horrid! Do they know any commands? Yes, sit, stay, down, roll over, shake paw, high 5, cross paws, take a bow, beg, ect... She's stubborn sometimes Compete in any dog sports? Nope Favourite treat: Anything that smells nice! She drools when she sees bread or toast though Favourite toy: Anything she can tear apart! :| Funny habits or quirks: When she goes to sleep she puts her head on my other dog's back and snuggles lol! She also makes a weird noise when she gets excited What's their personality like? Lazy at times, outgoing, typical stubborn beagle though Do they get along well with other dogs? Yes, she doesn't get to see that many because we live in a small town away from family and friends... but she loves meeting other dogs Are they scared of anything? She is absolutely terrified of... FEATHERS! What training methods do you use? Positive reinforcement? Corrections? Positive reinforcement, sometimes with a clicker, corrections when necessary ---- Wow, thanks for your answers guys! I wasn't expecting so many people to reply. I'm only half way through reading them all. :p
  21. Hahaha, wow... Someone definitely has too much time on their hands. I feel sorry for all the dogs with longer coats. Ouch!
  22. Ohh, sorry. Do you think I should delete it?
