  1. dwilds are the Navy & air Force sent to different addresses? do you have them? I would like to post the deatails on a local town info service to get more people involved and if I could add extra information so people have the choice of where to send I will. I will hopefully have that information in the next couple of days. I will post it here when i know. I think they are the same but I will make sure.
  2. I'm putting together a couple of packages and spreading the word in my local area. I'm also going to send a couple of packages the members of the Navy and the Air Force that are also serving overseas edit : spelling
  3. I haven't them or heard stuff about them like I have the RSPCA (all good things) but they seem to be a global version of the RSPCA So IMO tell your friend to donate to help animals
  4. My council has a limit of 2 dogs per property but I have been thinking of getting another once my pup is older. I want to go into the trailing side of things and maybe breeding (properly of course - registered) but I don't know how to go about it. A lot of people around here don't tell the council how many dogs they have but I want to do the right thing. I still live with my mum on a 1 hectare block so it could be set up to be super secure (though it is already fully fenced). I wouldn't be getting another for probably up to 2 yrs but if I can maybe get things ready it might simplify the process and give me time to organise the property. Thanks for any advice you can give.
  5. My pup is due to be spayed in just over a month and I remember reading a post about a collar that did the same thing as the elizabethian collar but it seemed to be just a head covering and allowed the ears to go out the top. If anyone knows the collar or post that I am talking aboout can you please direct me to the site/ post Thanks
  6. Like the topic says do dogs need to be registered ANKC dogs to participate
  7. We went to the vet this morning and the vet seems to think that it is a minor soft tissue damage and has put her on anti-inflammatory and antihistamines for the next 5 days so hopefully that fixes it or its back to the vets for x-rays
  8. My White Shepherd puppy was bitten yesterday when both my dogs were fighting over a bone. this morning there was no swelling so I went to work but when I got home I found that she now has one side of her muzzle swollen and it is the opposite side to where the marks from the bite are. so I was wondering could it still be from the bite or could it be say a bee sting? I'm taking her to the vets first thing in the morning and hoping to sort it out. edit to add: she also may have been swiped by my cat but I don't know for sure. she is definitely going to the vet
  9. Congrats!!!!! :D He is finally in good hands that are better able to look after him. He looks lovely and adorable hope all of dallys get on well over the coming days, weeks, years Good luck with him PS he looks like a Bandit to me too
  10. Its just funny the way she is getting her adult coat because on her tail she has a patch that looks like an arrow pointing to the tip of her tail, it makes it look out of proportion Glad to know that it is common. I was expecting something like this to happen but I wasn't expecting it to happen when she is only 11 weeks but then they can't stay puppies forever
  11. My puppy has a really soft coat but some parts are less fluffy (harsher) then the rest. these areas also don't pick up dirt like the rest of her coat and stay pure white. Is it just her losing her winter coat or would it be her puppy coat? Any advice would be great
  12. :) Good luck spottychick hope it all works out for you today
  13. she likes her mink blanket She is still separated from our older dog unless under supervision
  14. As I mentioned earlier in my posts, there are only 2 breeders of Berners in QLD. One wont sell to me or anyone outside of their family and friends, and the other is the breeder who has a pup for me. I have personally emailed all of the 23 "breeders" listed on Dogz Online (australia wide) and received many replies, almost 90% stating that they are not breeding their Berners anymore. One had pups but all were sold early on. A couple in NZ had pups also but wouldnt ship to Aus... so yes, she is the ONLY breeder selling publicly to my knowledge. Feel free to search for yourself if you wish, and I'd love to hear if you know of any other breeders who are still breeding, I would be very appreciative. I googled bernese mt dog breeders and got a heap of breeders.1 breeder with pups due at end of month another 1 another with info on another breeder Hope this helps. You Don't need to limited to DOL when you have google Also I wouldn't purchase from this breeder there is too much that seems wrong if the links attached aren't permitted I will delete and PM
  15. thank you all for your responses and tip, hints and the rest I will take it on board and go slowly before I start breeding. I will be looking into my breed some more and making contact with people from my breed so I can have some mentors for a period of time before breeding. Thank you
  16. As most of you probably know I have a new puppy (white shepherd) and she is great. she is a little ball of energy and happiness but what I wasn't expecting was that she would help so much with dealing with my fathers death. He died 18 mths ago and I haven't been able to move on since then, the puppy I got was his dream dog so I thought it would be really hard to cope with. Since I got the puppy I have been feeling so much better and eating healthy and for the first time in years I am losing weight. I never in a million years expected that getting this puppy could change my lifestyle or help with dealing with grief but it has. So I was just wondering how many people have bought a dog after the passing of someone close to them and it has brought a hole new lease on life when they were stuck in the bottom of a deep hole?
  17. I eventually want to start breeding dogs most likely GSDs but i'm still not sure and it would be a long time away once I have a good idea of the breed (whichever i choose) but I was just wondering if it is easier if you learn off a breeder that has been doing it for a while before starting for yourself and the betterment of the breed or is it not done like that? does co-owning a breeding dog with the breeder make it easier or just more difficult? Thank You for your replies. I am looking at the future (ie 5 - 10 yrs away)
  18. I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice it is very much appreciated. I'm going to wait until She is a lot older before I start her with anything to do with agility. I'm going to start with obedience and get it so we have a great partnership and understanding between us. I will wait and see what she is like in 18 mths and then I may start her on agility but I will see later. The pup did come with papers from WSSDCA. Thanks Again
