She's getting tinned puppy food with the fenugreek in it, it's the only way she will eat it, chicken carcass, cottage cheese, this morning she had oats made with goats milk and a bit of mince or dieced beef during the day. Tomorrow is sardines and raw eggs for one meal, she is on 3 meals a day and has water available and goats milk with 2 meals.

l'm after some idea's here our bitch had her litter just over a week ago and still has minimal to no milk. She was started on Fenugreek on day two and on day 5 the vet put her on Metomide three tablets a day (cocker spaniel) but we still have no improvement and the pups are being hand rasied. All the puppies are happy to suck from her but still there is no milk.

Endurance Test 2011 Thread

l was worried l couldn't make the distance for the Altona ET so the week before l done a mock ET without Hamish and was suprised l made it thru with no trouble. On the day you will be so busy with your dog, watching the dog infront and keeping an eye on the dog behind you ( esp if it's a huge GSD) that you wont even notice the km's flying past. Isaac done 10.5 km's today we are really looking forward to the Canberra ET. -

Anyone still training for the Canberra ET ? -
We had some heavy panting lastnight for about 45 mins right out of the blue got abit worried as she still has 6-9 days to go today we woke up to her with diarrhea then discharge, she has had discharge on and off so the vet wants her back on the meds. Poor girl she is pretty big now and the little tackers are moving around alot.

Congrats to everyone with new babies We still have a week to go tomorrow. Xray is booked for Friday to see what she has on board, the closest ultrsound machine is a 6 hour round trip so l hope the xray does the job. She has started nesting and pinching all sorts of things to hide in her whelping box Care Bears are her fav.

l was just talking about this last night with OH, we have taken in dogs from our breed in the past, l have one at the moment that either the breeder could not or would not assist with. However a friend of mine recently took one in to rehome and now is dealing a number of her dogs having KC. As is so often the case the owners had lied about the situation the dog was in. l can't imagine alot of breeders have the set up to take in foster dogs and quarantine them and l know alot of breeders are working with the maximum number of dogs their council will permit. l think if you breed you should be willing to help rescue if you can't there are other ways to assist.

Our girl looks like she may have swallowed a small basketball, she's looking rather round, teat development has progressed and she is starting to look a tiny bit baggy around the back two teats. Off to clip her tummy so the babies can find their way to the milk bar easier. Congratulations Missymoo !!!

Thanks for your input Tassie, l did hope to make it to Ballarat for their tracking comp to have a look but it's the same weekend as the Canberra ET We have started with little 100m to 350m tracks in longer grass and he is doing really well, was dropping some tidbits along the way but he was not interested he just wanted to get to the end to find his fav toy so we have removed the tidbits.

Hi all, we are just about to start tracking with the view to entering trials early next year. We are a fair distance from any tracking clubs so will be doing most of the training myself , just wondering if anyone has any pointers or things they wish they knew when they started out that they would like to share.

Wow that is a good turnout, we are heading up from Vic if anyone wants to tag along. Isaac's training is going great he's so different to Hamish, really nice and relaxed off to obedience to tackle that side of things with the little show pony. -

Thanks, l was going to call tomorrow to find out when it would be available. Does Test 1 and Test 2 mean they are running two groups ? -
We take ours to the local rug (horse) repair lady, but after 3 escapes we went back to a wire one for Hami.

Our council offers a discount too for DogsVic members but you still have to jump thru hoops for your permit.

We use the one on Sturt St, l'm from Horsham but find the vets down there better and just found out Sat morning neither of the vets in town have an ultrasound machine
