Anybody with accomodation idea's ? l think we have just about tried everywhere We were heading up with a friend and staying at her relatives but now she can't make it and we have no where to stay. -
l am so lame at deciding registered names for our puppies so l thought l would ask for some suggestions. The litter of 5 babies was born on Australia day so l really want an Aussie them. They have pet names with thanks to the kids, registered names don't need to have any association with their pet names. We have one registered name so far . My prefix is 6 letters so lots of spare letters to work with. The boys Banjo - Banjo Patterpaws Aussie The girls Matilda Sydney Adelaide.

That would be great.

l have suggested a neuter class to my kennel club, we are a country club and l think it will help boost numbers but they don't seem to think they will get the entries to justify the cost. If they got the class sponsored for the first year then they could make an informed decision whether to offer it again pending the entries that came along with the neuters. Some of the smaller clubs are tight on money and commitee members and just don't have the time to look into it.

Sounds like Mt Gambier is going to have a great neuter turn out, l know of a few more neuters heading over from Vic. -
Can You Feel Your Dogs Microchip?
Sir Sniffalot replied to Cavstar's topic in General Dog Discussion
When our cocker arrived we could not find his chip anywhere, second vet came in with a different scanner and just as he had given up it beeped. The chip is down between his chest. He as was a rescue at 2 years and l do worry if he got lost no one would find the chip down under there. -
A Challenge For Neuter Lovers
Sir Sniffalot replied to Bilbo Baggins's topic in General Dog Discussion
Would love Neuter at Noorat, the only reason we are going to Mt Gambier over easter instead of the Melbourne shows is for the Neuter classes and we will be bringing another 6 dogs along. -
Sat night was so late they finished in the dark would have been after 9pm and everyone was scrambling to grab their tea afterwards, yesterday groups finished up about 7ish then we left. Could not manage another day with all the flies, l forgot how bad they are there.

New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
Sir Sniffalot replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
Update, l just got home from a weekend of showing and found a reply to my return email with a phone number, l rand the number and it's a Tassie number listing says the pup is in Melbourne. Anyway the guy asked which puppy l wanted to buy and when l questioned if he was in Tassie or Melbourne he insisted he was in Melbourne and l could collect the puppy from the city then he hung up -
People Breeding Dogs With Papered Pets With 'prefix'
Sir Sniffalot replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
l know of a registered breeder who has unreg dogs wacks her prefix and a pretty name on them and adds them to her website. She's only been a reg breeder for 2 years and 2 of the dogs are over 4. -
We were trying to do that last year for Canberra but couldn't find anyone else to come up with. Plus we are kind of rural so l doubt anyon e out our way will be going. Would certainly make the trip less boring having some to travel with.

The Smart Id Tag To Get Your Pets Home Quicker
Sir Sniffalot replied to Nellc's topic in General Dog Discussion
l would worry with all that info available to anyone who found the dog they could keep it and make it feel right at home, know which vet not to go to for vaccinations, when to feed and what not to feed plus any meds it might require. If your facebook link is on there too they would even know what the real owner looks like. You might get a ransom note via email. -
l know l said l wouldn't do Canberra again but if it's after the 17th of August l could be talked into it. Last years was really late.

New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
Sir Sniffalot replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
We decided to run on the black male but l feel l could'nt advertise him online at the moment anyway with someone else using his number, it makes me look dodgy like l don't screen my buyers or take puppies back if they don't work out / circumstances change. -
New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
Sir Sniffalot replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's the one, the black boy is mine that's how the buyer got my email and contacted me for the papers, the pic on the other site looks like a mismarked pup (gold with lots of white on it's face ) -
New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
Sir Sniffalot replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sure did, then she got nasty, the original listing is basically the same as one of mine, it's a cut and paste job with a few important parts missing like l have english cockers not american and the pup is a black male not a gold female as advertised. She seemed to think l was the one running a scam like she'd caught me out for not passing on the papers to this poor soul that was having to sell their puppy. -
New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
Sir Sniffalot replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
The lady that contacted me did so because the seller advised her that the breeder had not forwarded the papers or vaccination record and once it had been sent to them they would pass it on to whoever bought the puppy. So the savvy buyer googled the seller email address = found nothing, googled looking for an American breeder called Jason in QLD = found nothing, googled microchip number in the ad and found an old ad for my boy with the number advertised in it (As per Vic rules) and contacted me and asked for the pups papers. -
Have not read the whole thread but are they disclosing the fault / faults which brought about the disqualifications ?

New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
Sir Sniffalot replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
After speaking to DPI yesterday they said their only concern was that the advertiser may be using a yahoo or gmail account which can be easily closed and that's the end of that. So there's the loop hole. Honestly the seller could be anywhere in Australia selling this puppy as being in Vic, they won't supply a name or number just account details for a 50% deposit. My poor puppy has been a victim of identity theft.
