  1. Personally I would say a GSD, not only because I have owned 3, but mainly because I grew up with them as a child...I got to interact with them as a toddler and now as an adult. As a toddler my parents GSD were caring, gentle and fun...while 2 were trained protection dogs...and the other a pet...ALL 3 were trusted to play with me and I NEVER got anything but love from them. Now as an adult the 3 I have owned...yes they need work, lots of training and exercise and socialization...but the end product is well worth it to me. Never owned a Golden Retriever, but I love the breed. I love how they look and the few I have known' were beautiful and friendly. Good luck in which ever you decide.
  2. Gosh! that would have been scary! I personally have not encountered this kind of situation, but I know ppl that have....some of them never really get over the event....sorry this has happened to you, it is such a shame that so many dogs out there are unloved and untrained. I hope the memories of this horrid event pass quickly for you, and I hope those dogs have a happy life, eventually..... They just don't know any better Thankyou for sharing this experience.
  3. I grew up with German Shepherds, as a child I would shake the apple trees so that my parents Shepherds could eat them lol....they were loyal and fun and gentle. I still remember them jumping through hoops of fire, they were Shutzhund and guard work trained, yet still so kind to me as a child. I knew from the first memory of these lovely dogs, I would only ever want this breed. I have now owned 3, and loved every moment of them. I lost my first girl a few months ago, Bless her, now I have a big male and a young female...I chose this breed because I love how they move, how they look, how they respond and how loyal and pleasing they are.
