  1. Yeah he is very cheeky i put him in his play pen and ignored him 4 a while to teach him to play by himself with his kong and after an hour i went to go play with him and he crawled straight into his crate and gave me the cold shoulder haha. Sometimes he gets too hot inside and has o put his head on the tiles
  2. not sure what his lines are, he just looked friendly enough and i had to get him haha
  3. im in a townhouse so its hard to leave him barking for any more than a few minutes, i'll talk 2 my neighbour and let him know what is happening, I bought 1 of those dap things which should arrive in a few days and also bought a puppy play pen with his crate, toilet toys and the like in it. I left him in there for abou an hour to entertain himself and he wasn't happy a 1st, he then ate his kong and fell asleep. When he woke up i went to play with hem and he ignored me just the way i did to him the cheeky little devil i'll start to build up the time i leave over the next 3 days ready for friday when we both have to work lol here is koda in his pen sleeping
  4. Am i doing this right? i'm trying to train my tibbie to be alone, so this morning i put him in the laundry with his crate and stuffed kong, toilet and some water and within 30 seconds he starts barking, yelping, scratching at the door. I come back after my shower and find him in his crate and a small wee puddle on the floor. If i go up stairs he barks and cries, if i take out the rubbish same deal. I always wait for 5 or 10 seconds of him being quiet before i go in. Can anyone give me any tips to help him accept being alone for a few minutes? It breaks my heart to see him so distressed. He is cute when he is sleeping
  5. just ordered 1 from picky pets will let everyone know if it works any good
  6. Where can i get one and do they actually work? Sounds like it may help me with "alone" training
  7. My Tibetan spaniel is just over 8 weeks old and i have had him for 4 days, he is the most beautiful little pup but he follows me and my OH around the house all the time, he will only play by himself if he can see us nearby. In about 6 days he will need to be left home alone for about 6 hours because our work times conflict. I was gonna get my dad to come check on him every 2 hours or so but would just like some help how i can gradually build him to be used to being alone. At the moment i cant brush my teeth without him whimpering at the bottom of the stairs. One other problem he appears to have a mystery itch, took him to the vet and they couldn't see anything, hey suspect possibly ear mites (scratching up around his neck all the time looking frustrated) but they gave him a dose of advocate and told me to give him another dose in 2 weeks. How long should it be before i see improvements? Thanks for any help, i will really appreciate it.
  8. Hello everyone, this is my 1st time on these forums and also my 1st pup I got a new tibetan spaniel that is 9 weeks old. I've trained him to wee on the training pads and also a doggy toilet i built him but now he seems to think he can wee on any matt that happens to be nearby. I've only had it for 2 nights and had to move its bed to my room for it to sleep, had it in the bathroom first but was too noisy and because i'm in a town house i can't give it the cold shoulder as i'm joined to the next downhouse and the noise will drive them mad. Would getting him a crate help him sleep easier? Or how can i get him to quiet down without "rewarding" his loud behaviour. Another thing is i have got him heaps of chew toys, yet his favourite seems to be the stitching of his doggy bed How can i encourage him not to do this? as he seems no to be responding to a simple NO! or picking him up and movie him. He is also very clingy and yelps if i go upstairs for a few seconds or take the rubbish out, i have been putting him to sleep then doing this things at the moment. besides these few minor problems he truly is a great puppy would just like to build his confidence as he is very timid. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
