  1. Her family are now also volunteering as foster carers with RADAR and here is Juniper playing with RADAR Jade, a little Kelpie/Dalmatian rescue pup This was Juniper's pound photo
  2. Former foster Juniper is doing so well in her new home. She is learning flyball and she has settled in beautifully with her new family.
  3. Cupcake's adoption was finalised and her new owners confirmed that they wanted to keep her. She has been renamed Sunny. We will miss the beautiful girl!
  4. Crate training going well Pretty girl Training an offswitch She's also learned how to use the dog door so is toileting herself outside.
  5. She's lovely ... any breed guesses? So far we have her down as a lilac Border Collie/Koolie ... or a red merle Australian Shepherd cross ... :D We are calling her the fluffy albino Kelpie ETA: and chequeredblackdog - you are already pre-approved to adopt ANY of my foster dogs
  6. Cupcake's going well on trial adoption. Our new foster Chimes arrived today. She's lovely. A very soft and submissive dog. Friendly to people and dogs. Absolutely no sign of aggro whatsoever. Still has her puppy teeth and puppy breath. She is about Dodge size. Maybe smaller because she is fluffy. She is very ball-focused but not a guarder. She is very calm and sweet-tempered. On looks alone she will be hugely popular but there's no way she's going to someone who just wants a pretty dog - I'll be beating off unsuitable applicants with stick I suspect. Her hearing and sight are fine.
  7. Not the greatest of photos but so happy to see that Twiggy (underweight Kelpie girl from Young Pound) is doing really well in her new home.
  8. Former foster Frida (border collie) and her foster brother Niko (Kelpie). What a wonderful life she has. Frida has grown up into such a beautiful dog. A recent-ish video here:
  9. Thanks guys. I had a little cry on Saturday but Cupcake's new owners adore her and we've already started getting some updates!! My husband reminds me that this is the reason we foster - to find them good new homes ... and that it's not just the dog's life that's transformed, but the family into which they are adopted...
  10. Last night in care for Miss Cupcake Fluffy after her pre-adoption bath Her puppy pack/hobo bag is ready We will miss her I hate this part of fostering.
  11. Thanks! He's a very unusual-looking dog. Funny-looking but very lovable.
  12. Apparently she was saved from a farm where she was being mistreated, then the person that saved her moved and couldn't take her with them and so surrendered her to rescue. Apparently she is very sweet :)
  13. I think it lessens the risk of the dog 'bouncing' if it's trained up. I also think that a lot of people who adopt a rescue do have much higher expectations/demands than they do when they get a dog from elsewhere ...
  14. Heh heh. Everyone says that. We try to keep our fosters at least 2 months though to make sure we've trained them up and fully assessed their temperament. No matter how pretty she is, she still has to leave with the Mandatory Training Behaviours
  15. We have a new foster coming on Saturday. Not a Kelpie ... Not actually sure what she is - Border Collie/Koolie? Her name is Chimes. She looks very sweet so we'll love her even though she's not a Kelpie
  16. Cupcake's new owners are getting excited about her arrival. We're letting her sleep on the bed because we'll miss her :p
  17. Elbie and Hoover Elbie and Hoover at tricks training class on Saturday Dodge, weirdest looking little dog in the world :) Former foster Smudge, as beautiful as ever Current foster Cupcake
  18. With Hoover Modelling some dog coats donated to rescue by the very, very generous Chris
  19. Only one more week till the adorable Little Miss Cupcake goes on trial adoption. I will miss her
  20. There's equipment at Forde in Canberra, some photos here: http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/194978-elbie-hoover-dodge-friends/page__view__findpost__p__4854076 It's not our favourite park and we don't go there anymore because it's quite small and we have three dogs now :) But Elbie always enjoyed it.
  21. Probably the only person on DOL who does do it, but my dogs have always been on the annual injection.
  22. Elbie and Hoover don't particularly like wearing their vests from the wolfsden, but Dodge loves wearing his. He seems to feel the cold more than the other two. We don't leave Dodge unattended in the yard with his vest but sometimes when if he is crated when we're out, he'll be wearing his vest.
  23. Sorry I didn't see this earlier. We just drove out to Cootamundra (from Canberra) today to pick up a dog and deliver it to someone in Canberra :p We don't like to rely on transport much either and tend to go and get and deliver the dogs ourselves.
