Cushings is fairly easily treated, especially after being properly diagnosed through blood tests and ultrasound. Sounds like something else could be going on, can you ask for a referral to a specialist medicine vet?

Just in regards to the bolded bit, I have had a lot to do with dogs having Total Hip Replacements, and would have to disagree. As long as they have suitable post op care (crate resting, leash walking, weight management and no slippery surfaces) they do great. By 6weeks post op you can rarely pick a limp, and their owners are delighted. Years on and still nobody would ever know anything was wrong with the dog! Sometimes the other hip needs doing at a later date, sometimes they manage with just the most affected hip operated on. Yes, it's expensive (probably 50% of the dogs I've known have had pet insurance, which covers all but the implants)

Sounds like he needs behavioral training rather than a muzzle (recommended behaviorist not vet).

I've seen good results witg both hills KD, and royal canin renal. Really depends on her urine concentration also, what is that like at the moment?

Wondering how Amber is getting on??! :)

I guess the only reason to have bloods done is for comparison, so you have a current picture. Hope she's feeling better today :)
-
Have you taken her temperature? Are her gums pink and moist? How is she apart from not eating, bright and happy or dull? Hopefully just a one day thing and she will be normal for you tomorrow... :)

What does the breeder say? -
Agree with seeing a good orthopedic surgeon (specialist). Procedures like DPO and TPO can be performed on dogs of your boys age, often with great results and halting the need for total hip replacements later.

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a dog with intestinal adenocarcinoma. One of mine has it diagnosed after a complete intestinal blockage, and starts chemo tomorrow. Any experiences (positive or negative...) appreciated.

^^ exactly this. -
Why was the dog put on steroids in the first place? And how long has he been on it?
-
Have a lookup about EPI too.

Oh Swazzie I am so very sorry You did everything within your power to get a definitive diagnosis, and will now love and spoil him for as long as you kindly can. Look after yourself at this awful time too

Definately Georgina. Hope you get some good results. What medications is she currently on just out of interest?
-
The bloods were all normal and no sign of him being jaundiced so shouldn't be the problem. However I'm sure the specialists know what to look at :)
