Just love my dogs!

We got our Goldie puppy first and then 7 weeks later we got our Lab puppy. There are pros and cons to the situation. Pros They keep each other company during the day when we are at work. They're normally best of friends. We got all the puppy behaviour over and done with at the same time. Cons They hate being apart. They're really attached to one another It was bloody hard work raising two puppies! Our house and back yard was totally wrecked!

I agree. My vet also said that tin food is a waste of money due to all the water in it.

What are his bloodlines? Very good according to some other Lab breeders Has he been shown/trialled and with what results? No. I'm in the process of learning how to show him (going to classes). What are his hip / elbow scores? Don't know yet. He's booked in to have these done. Is he PRA clear? His parents are clear. He is also booked in to have this test done. Does he have a current eye certificate for things OTHER THAN PRA? No but looking into this. Has he been tested for EIC? No. Not sure what this is Has he been used before and I would be looking for details of any progeny? No he has not been used before. Please don't be too critical. I really am just looking into this and I want to do the right thing by researching before (if) I go ahead with this. Thanks

What sort of research? Genetcs, how to handle a matingetc ? Yes. All of the above

Yes he is registered with Dogs Victoria and he has all his paperwork. If his health tests come back clear then the breeder thinks he will be suitable for stud work.

I have done this and they said as long as his health tests come back fine then he should be good to go. I like to do plenty of research before I do something and would really like to know if there are any good books or websites out there that offer excellent information.

I have had a few breeders ask if he is available to stud. He has good blood lines and is a beautiful dog. I have him booked in for all his health tests. Basically I just want to find out as much information as I can.

Jett lifted his leg the other day in the lounge room and peed on the bean bag! Mosley did that when he was a puppy. It's the only time he has EVER peed in the house....what's with that??!! I guess he's marking his territory It was really random. He's never done it before! :D

Completely different in size and many many other areas too. Origins, country, temperament, EVERYTHING. I voted Yes, although I have to admit to knowing nothing about these breeds apart from knowing several amstaffs and having 2 pitbulls as neighbours (yes, they are not allowed here). I'm a bit confused too as to how staffords and bull terriers came up in the topic. but obviously I've missed something. ;) I voted no. I think they are two completely different breeds. I don't think it's fair to give the Amstaff a bad name by comparing it to a pit bull.

In most states selling a pup without papers is a breach of an ANKC registered breeder's code of ethics. If they're prepared to breach that rule, it makes you wonder what other ethical standards have fallen by the wayside? Thanks. Do you know if this is a breach in Victoria? I'm beginning to wonder whether this breeder is operating a 'puppy farm'? There were a few different breeds of dogs and quite a lot of litters!

I would be very very careful. We bought our Golden Retriever without papers from a breeder who claimed she was a pure bred. Well we were tricked! It turns out that she isn't a pure bred after all! In the future I will always buy a dog with papers unless I adopt it from a shelter.

We were told by our breeder that if (we were given the choice) we were going to desex our boy we should hold off for a few years to let him 'grow into his head'.

That's the plan!!! Although the human clothes have usually got dog hair on them as well Yeah. All my clothes are covered in dog and cat hair! Can never get rid of it. I think I've given up!

Those conditions are ridiculous! :D The breeders where I bought my pups from were not that strict. I don't think they had any of those conditions!

I know what you mean! My dogs are so excited to see me when I get up in the morning or come home from work. I might be having a terrible day but when I get home I always smile and laugh at my dogs trying to kiss me! It's a good feeling to know that someone loves you!

I have a Labrador and a Golden Retriever. They fit well in the back of my Rav4
