Thanks... good to know its normal. yeah she's crate training so will make sure she gets lots of alone time to rest lol poor thing looks so tiny next to riley and his lanky legs hehe. can't wait til she's a bit bigger and co.ordinated....he will be the one needing some down time ;-)

Hi guys. I've just got my new pup home yesterday. she's a real sweetie and is settling in well. i have a question however... my older 18 month old gsp is playing really.rough with her.....i think. he is mouthing her head and legs and pins her down. he follows her everywhere and won't take his eyes off her unless she is asleep. Im worried its becoming too full on and he's being too dominant and will hurt her. She's tiny compared to him (same breed) and he doesn't seem to.know when to stop. What do u guys think? Is this normal He's not biting her or growling etc just mouthing...but its non stop. he plays beautifully with.other dogs and puppies in the past. any advice appreciated :-)

Kinda feel a bit odd posting after such sad news like that but im picking up my girl tomorrow morning. Very excited. Im currently having the final solo cuddles with Riley before his world gets turned upside down with a sibling. He is going to absolutely love her (he is crazy about puppies) YAYYYYYY. I cant believe the day has finally arrived.

Cant help you regarding the pen but just a thought...could you not use several tent pegs and peg the base down to make it more stable? Might work??

thankyou for posting I was lucky enough to work along side and witness the wonderful work these search and rescue dogs do when i was deployed to NZ Christchurch after the earthquake. They really are amazing and are taken care of so well by their fabulous owners. Definately the unsung heros. RIP all the special pups who have passed on since 9/11. Never forgotten.

I can honestly say Riley only had 1 accident during our training and that was 100% my fault with not acting on the signs he was showing me that he needed widdles. He got the hang of it so quickly it really did suprise me. I think the fact i crate trained him helped cement the idea in his head. I religiously got up every few hours during the night and made sure i took him out after meals, naps and play sessions etc. With my new girl arriving in about a week i think ill find out if Riley was a fluke or if the way i did things did make the process quicker.... who knows....but i certainly wont have a time frame in mind for my new girl.... it will take as long as it takes

I love my chosen breed and HOPE ill be fit enough in my retirement to keep having them but if not, i see myself with a GAP greyhound. Always had a soft spot for them

THats true too. Maybe ill whisk up the eggs and just use as much yoghurt as i can before the use by date. i got it that cheap its not going to bother me wasting it if i have to. cheers guys

Quick question as Im not sure if i can do this or not.... My boy is raw fed and I purchased some large containers of natural yogurt and eggs really dirt cheap today. to save me wasting them because i won't get through it all before the use by date i was thinking of freezing it and taking an egg and scoops of yogurt as needed. Can i do this safely do you think? Many thanks :-)

Just wondering if anyone knows of reliable places to purchase books online from australian stores (in particular Susan garretts books Ruff love and shaping success) Im happy to buy from the US or overseas but im thinking postage might be quite expensive in comparison to Australian stores. Clean run was quoting $40 for postage...eeek. Or if someone has copies they are looking to sell id happily purchase them.

Aww this thread is lovely My favourite time would have to be watching Riley off leash. The literal smile on his face and flapping ears as he runs around.....too cute. Of course there is also that wonderful moment when we get home and he is tired, curls up next to me on the couch and falls asleep with his head in my lap.
