Does Anyone Know Where This Lead Came From?
Mervin replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
Seriously, did you look at this persons link, because it is the exact same lead you are looking for,Made in black, brown and tan. Here it is again. http://www.fordogtrainers.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=82&products_id=3885 -
Omg that's crazy!!! :D how on earth did you manage?? Thanks everyone!! It was a dog rescue from the rspca so I picked her up from the vet after being desexed, so she was quite groggy. She still puts her head in my lap on the way home from the beach if she is really tired and has a bit of a nap, which brings up another popular question, best dog car? Any car that has a front bench seat.

3 hour trip, on my lap all the way, whist driving. I am sooo bad.

Sandgrubber ask a question about there and their, I answered it. Get your heckles down, I just get annoyed that every time I spell it right in the Queens english an american spell check tells me I am wrong, end result is that in years to come every one will spell it the american way, I am not having a go at american people. Edited to correct minor punctuation errors. [interjections in square brackets]. I'm sorry, I wasn't attacking you. I wasn't attacking anybody. I thought you were asking a question, my mistake. But you you have put me back in my place, good for you.

sorry, I don't get this. I was raised in the US and spent many years in Australia. I have trouble with spelling differences between English dialects. If you use a dozen question marks, please provide an intelligible question. The point of the post was to help people direct one another to useful/interesting/fun blogs. Given the number of times I've overlooked what are blatant errors in spelling/usage in any English dialect, eg., 'there' for 'their' and 'its' for 'it's' on posts, I am inclined to take it personally when someone attacks for what is correct spelling of 'favorite' in US English . . . but I refrain from pointing my middle finger :D. Their, adj,the possessive form of they, used before a noun There, adv. in,at,to,or into that place. I'm sorry I just get annoyed by the Americanization of our culture being forced onto us by the internet, though it has been going on a lot longer than that.

FAVOURITE? English not American.

People Who Just Don't Understand...
Mervin replied to Kelly_Louise's topic in General Dog Discussion
You have misunderstood me(as I think you have the rest of the world) the way you hate is unhealthy, it is quite sad really, as I'm sure at some stage in your life you were a child. What happened dear, what makes you hate the child within? If you don't talk to kids, how are they supposed to learn the right way to approach a dog. Huh? Why and how is it other people's responsibility to teach another person's child how to behave? It seems to be a modern thing, as is letting children demand what they want and giving it to them. Not wanting to talk to children doesn't mean anyone hates the world. I haven't met many dogs over the years, including my own, who'd appreciate a stranger wanting to invade their doggy space. It is no ones responsibility to teach other peoples children, but the point I am trying to make is that it does not take much effort to explain to a child after you have blocked it's path to a dog, tell them in a nice way why they should always ask first, just because there parents are ignorant to the fact there is no reason they have too grow up ignorant too. Kid's have long memories, so they might grow up with the memory of the nice lady with the shy dog or the nasty lady with the vicious dog, if you are not willing to take the trouble to try and take the time to change peoples perceptions about dogs stop complaining. -

I don't care for kid's that much either, but it is easy to see that you need to see a therapist about your attitude towards them, dogs are often like there owners. -
WOW, I am always amazed at how dumb people are.

My dogs a rescue dog, I have never had any other, I was just pointing out that if you watch a commercial channel what can you expect, it is tailored to the city centred brain dead culture. Ok so you have a rescue dog, thats great. I am trying to figure out whether it is a kelpie x or a bull terrier/whippet x?????? As you will find with your time on DOL many people will have different opinions. Many, many opinions are backed up with actual real life stories. Funny that ya reckon she's got bull terrier in her cool I'll get her a studded collar then. Have no idea what you mean by that. Do you mean "Do I reckon she has bull terrier in her?? If you look back on your posts you will see that last year you owned a Bull terrier/whippet x and then this year you own a Kelpie x. I was just wondering what happened to the BT/W x We thought when we picked it up from the pound she was a bull terrier cross whippet thats what they saib at the rspca but obviously she's not , I'm not an expert, i may have mispelt her name once, dont worry I wont bother you again you dont get my sense of humor iwas just having a bit of a poke at you, this is not the place for me, now hope fully i can scrubb my membership and be gone and be a happily ignorant dog owner.

It was just something to watch while I ate dinner actually, but you made me giggle....I like angry little people....they make these threads even funnier ;) Obviously you watch it too, or you wouldn't know so much about the channel!! Bwahahahahah....come sit with me & watch more channel 10...you know you want to !!!! :p I'm not angry, just amused at the way some of the the people(not the majority) take great delight in feeding off each other as the comments and ridicule gets nastier, not surprising to to see this pack mentality though, It is dogsonline ;) ;) :) :p :p

I watched the show, it was what I expected. After reading all your responses, I don't think that even if he did anything right you'd admit to it, your a tough audience. But guess what, channel ten could not care whether you were liking it or not just so long as you watched it so the joke was on you. basically I thought the show was pointing out few of the things to expect if you a dog, like having it rip your apartment to pieces, it was a one hour show with 3 stories of course it was just going to skim over it. Hands up who likes Bondi rescue, well if you have any idea about the ocean and surf rescue you would know that it is just the same as Bondi vet, it skims over some things and sensationalizes others, it's light entertainment. One person said they turned it over as soon as 7 pm Project finish, what's that "news latte" news for yuppies who find factual informative news boring who need a simple show to keep them informed of a few things(but not to many) that are happening in this world. Take note that Bondi vet piggy backs this show as it is targeting the same audience. It's called light entertainment folks, you realize when on the promo they poke the button and say "seriously" there just poking fun at you for being stupid enough to watch there channe l

And then the tourist become seachangers and you'll be dictated by them, and they'll change the place into the place they had to get away from.

We have a Kelpie X, so there is no question whether she goes or not. She spends most of the time in the car waiting for someone to be going somewhere anyway. I have noticed that whenever anyone recommends a place to stay, Stayz or take-a-break was always bought up, we found a place through this site and it was really good. We got talking to the owner and he told us that he charges $15 more per night for stayz and take-a-break booking as that is what they charge per night for a booking through them on top of there yearly fee and most of the places in the district did the same, so if you like the look of somewhere on stayz, don't send off an inquiry through them as that commits them to charge you the extra booking fee, Just Google the name and go straight to their website, it could save you quite a bit of money. There are alot of great places on this site and holidaying with dog both have direct links to the propertys web pages , so you can get the best deal.

Looking For Someone Handy To Make A Big Kennel
Mervin replied to Danois's topic in General Dog Discussion
I just made some kennels about the size you are talking about, the materials alone cost me $300 and the labour for each one is about eight hours, basically you are asking someone to build a small shed, so $600 is the likely price you will be looking at. Or you could buy a cheap flat pack one that will fall to pieces in no time. -
Another thing, all the beaches past Lorne are dog friendly from St. Gorge's River to Marengo. Just pull over in any of the small car parks on the side of the ocean road and there will be a small track close by and you will have a pristine beach to yourself, remember to take your time and if another car comes up behind you pull over, as not all people are on holiday they have places to be. I know this as in another life I lived in the area. Oh yes, most of the eating places in Apollo Bay have outdoor seating and you can bring your dog, hope that's been some help. Love the pics of your Kelpies.

I stayed at this place in Apollo bay www.marengobeachbreak.com.au I put a review in the accommodation section, it had fenced courtyards and was nice and quiet. Apollo Bay is a touristy town but not very busy during the week, as a town it is very dog friendly. This place was just outside town and 2minutes walk to an off leash beach my girl loved it, so did I, we were the only one on the beach some days. It was also new and very clean. Port fairy has a lot of dog friendly places too.Enjoy the Ocean Road a beautiful part of the world.

Reading this reminded me of when we were minding a friends jack russell it would drink heaps of sea water down the beach so she was just squirtting it out of her behind the problem was we had to drive home, what to do? Much to the horror of my wife I picked her up (the dog not my wife) and gave her a big squeeze so all the excess came shooting out, after my wife recovered from laughing so hard she had the bright idea of putting her in a plastic shopping bag tied at the top with the head sticking out, it worked well .

Please dont let my husband know, I will never, ever be able to explain my bills for testing or why I have paid a small fortune for a dog, then transport, then testing, then desexing and then given it away to a pet home. I'm sorry I know nothing about breeding and it does not interest me at all, I just love dogs. But wow you took a dog in, put it through a heap of tests, decided that it wasn't good enough and gave it the flick. How cold hearted, I hope it has a loving home now. If you have children it must be a worry for them. Sorry if I've rubbed people the wrong way, but once a dog comes into my home it's forever for better or for worse.
-
It was quite a sad video, but if it wasn't for random breeding I wouldn't have my girl abby a bull terrier whippet cross. If you can't stop bogans having uprotected casual sex I doubt your going to stop their dogs.

Just spent 3 days in Apollo Bay at a place called Marengo Beachbreak, just added a bit more to the accommodation review section on this site, all the details are there and it's worth a look. Weather was wonderful, great beaches, very scenic with a few dog friendly bush walks.
