Not exactly a friendly welcome to the neighbourhood, but by the same token, why would you not secure your dogs in a portable run or something like that, so that they couldn't be put in harms way. The trouble is, the neighbour who shot the dog is now going to have it in for the dog and the people, regardless.

My dogs range in age from 9 up to almost 16 and could not see any of my family taking them as they all have multiple pets of their own, so the only thing would be to have them pts.

Yes I would believeit, but stupid people do stupid things anyway regardless, with breeding dogs, just have to look at the totally mismatched crosses that "Stupid people" have bred.

KK Team why do you think she feels the need to lick the area if it has been done a while. If she is licking and breaking the skin, is there a small infection under it all that is annoying her. If all is ok there, then I can't see that it would be a problem to put the ointment on and a bandage to see how it goes, but if it is still bothering her after that, I would be getting it checked out again.

So why then do we have White Shepherds, who were once German Shepherds now with a different name, also the West Highland Whites, were once Cairn Terriers. Nothing wrong with these white breeds. Not every white dog is going to be deaf, same as every white cat is not deaf. If it is only being done to conform to breed standards for showing, why cull otherwise perfectly healthy white pups, whose only crime in life is to be born white. Just my opinion.

Actually that is all we use on us and the dogs, and it is really good on grazes, cuts, bites, I even use it on their itchy spots. I have used it on open wounds, and it won't hurt the dogs if they do lick it off. It is basically just fermented papaya. I have never used it on operation sites before as I prefer to let them heal naturally.

Speaking of katydids, I was doing my good deed for the day, the other morning, and caught a katydid which had come inside the night before and threw him outside, only to have a magpie come and eat him. Did I do two good deeds for the day or what ????

nah, I dont think it's a cicade, maybe some kind of leaf bug? Actually the green grasshopper thingy, is called a katydid, have more of them than grasshoppers up here.

I have some beautifully made suits that I had made by a plus size clothing manufacturer in Brisbane. They are Size 26 jackets(not long sleeved, but the sleeves come to elbow level) and sleeveless top, and Size24 skirt. Made from mechanical suiting fabric, which is great because it doesn't crush easily and is so lovely to wear. Don't know if these would be any good to you. edited because I put the name of the firm.

So sad, I hope they find out the cause soon, as it would be terrible if the others had the same fate. The keepers must be devastated. Often watch programs and the zoo keepers and handlers really love the animals they are in charge of.
