  1. Great to hear it went well. If she is anything like the last one I had done, Lulu, she will just about jump off the table and find the first bowl of food she can to gobble. Lulu wasn't being held back by surgery, illness or anything!
  2. Not exactly the same, but simmilar enough There must be something with Dobes. Years ago, when I was a Vet Nurse, we had 2 patients that came in that did a similar thing Mon. They were both Dobes and when the owners scratched them on the side of their face their snouts would twist to the side. ;) It was hilarious to watch. I thought they were unique until I just saw Divani (was it the Diva??) on that clip.
  3. There are also medical reasons why dogs air lick, such as reflux. In your scenario though, it certainly sounds like a reflex or complementing reaction to the rub.
  4. Really? Would it matter which was desexed? ie if one appeared more dominant than the other?
  5. Say what?! I am certainly no expert on dog behaviour, but I know from experience that fighting between dogs is not related to gender. I disagree with you, male dogs will fight to hurt one another but bitches will fight to the death.
  6. I was just going to comment on something similar. Food is of value to Pugs... they are pigs. Bones seem to hold a much higher value though for my dominant boy Boof. He will even go me if I try to take a bone from him.
  7. I am similar with the Pugs Cosmolo. I have 3 (but have had up to 5) together. They are each spaced about 1 metre apart. They each know that they have their own bowl and they are not to go to another's. I do hover and watch as I have to ensure that the right dog gets the right meds. We don;t really give treats, apart from spiknling kibble on the ground for them outside when I am leaving the house. They all run around trying to gobble up as many little crunchies as they can before the others get them and it is rare they will end up in a tiff over it. Boofy is te most dominant and he and Olivia will occassionaly get in a scrap at this time, bt is is only very ocassionally and it is more noise than anything else. I would say that way more than half of the Pugs I have come acorss have food aggression but only to other dogs. I am sure if I wasn't there to supervise, there would be many battles over food bowls though.
  8. Aww. :D Another day in the clinic, poor Lola.
  9. Say what?! I am certainly no expert on dog behaviour, but I know from experience that fighting between dogs is not related to gender. It can be Anne. The closer two dogs are in size, age and gender, the more likely they are to have conflict over social status. Littermates can be worst of all. And they don't call female dogs bitches for nothing. Ask breeders about bitch on bitch aggression :D Yes, I know it can be, but it can be many other things also and just as your comment states - size and age also bear relevance. Saying that it is gender related is like saying that all dogs that fight are dominant. I guess my original statement should have read :fighting between dogs is not neccessarily related to gender

  11. Sending lots of good health and quick recovery vibes.
  12. I now do the Pugs one at a time in the laundry tub too as all that bending down kills me!
  13. The other dog, not the Boxer type, was the one that apparently 'bit' the woman. The big issue is that the owenrs refuse to keep their dogs in their yard and are deliberately allowing them to roam. Morons.
  14. I confess to spontaneously chuckling! On a serious note though, as someone has said, the arrogant idiot owner and his son are sending their dogs to their dogs deaths because they refuse to obey an order and comply with the law. They will have their dog's blood on thier hands. Morons like these people should not own dogs in this modern day.
  15. How gorgeous but sad all at the same time.
  16. Look in the pinned threads above this one. Here is the link; http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=92212
  17. Evidence that I can and do wash my Pugs myself normally.
  18. RIP Bear. I am so sorry.
  19. Not if you want the vaccination actually certified.
  20. I might just take you up on that offer, thanks Clyde, it is very generous of you! Thanks for the info Blue Fox, I agree, they are lovely little dogs. Mine are very good in the bath, although our little girl Olivia can be a bit of a wiggle bum. She just loves to be massaged all over though.
  21. In NSW, I am almost 100% positive that Vet Nurses, and others such as pound staff, (from Cert iv upwards or thereabouts) can also vaccinate. It also depends on if the vaccine is live or killed.
  22. I have never indulged in a professional groomer. Having Pugs, their coat is short and I wash them each week myself. I have been thinking of having them professionaly groomed, and having their nails trimmed (which is the impetus for professional grooming) as all 3 have nails that are getting far too long. What is the price in Sydney for grooming and nail clipping on average? Do Groomers pick up and deliver or do I need to arrange drop off and collection?
  23. As I said, I am not a camera enthusiast. To put it bluntly, I don't even own a camera. I am not interested in cameras nor photography on the whole. I simply have a range of pics that I have become interested in due to my daughter's up coming 21st birthday. The majority are scanned pics and pics I have lifted from her FB page. I am hoping to make the most of them. Thanks for your suggestions however, but I am specifically seeking a photoshop editing idea, not photography advice. I'll leave the photography to those who have an interest in it, 'cause my interest level is zero.
  24. I have read and heard of very similar reports about DNA testing. Can DNA testing accurately conclude breed?
