  1. Hi Meh, I would be very interested! I'm in Qld, and of course I'll pay postage. Is it still available? Thanks in advance!
  2. We are okay at Karana Downs. Had food drops via Chinook, and meals provided at Evac Centre at Mt Crosby School. Power is now on, and some roads are open.

    Zoe

Raelene, I don't usually cry when commenting in Rainbow Bridge thread, but tonight the tears are flowing. Zoe looked like she was put on this earth in order to help others. I wish I had met her - elderly Staffies have a special place in my heart. Run free Zoe...
  4. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I hate ticks and snakes RIP Bruce
  5. I have been looking forward to this one. Hopefully my attempts will be up to par...first-time participant
  6. She is stunning! She would get on well with Benson, I think These are his favourite positions on his lounge
  7. Yay! Frodo photos The little tyke is growing on me This is a great thread, and look forward to checking it each day. I'll have to get my act together and get some of my boy.
  8. Do you mean Speech, Rastus? He's not a puli, is he? Absolutely love Arrested Development
  9. I am so sorry you are in that situation. It's horrible when the aggressor doesn't let go...so good job getting the Akita off your Foxie. I hope things go okay for you.
  10. My sincerest condolences for your losses Run free Cooper
  11. Moselle, I am so sorry for you. I know how much it hurts, and it feels as though you will never get over it. I still tear up over losing my heart dog Jade on 31/3/10. I'm glad you have your husband/family around you at this time. Take care. :D Sophie, you are free from pain now. Rest in peace, sweet girl
  12. Poor Bindi. She'll have forgotten all about it by tomorrow Poor MrsGrumbleBum...betcha have butterflies in your tummy thinking about her. I know I get that feeling when something is wrong with my boy. I'm sure the vet won't mind if you give them a quick call to check on her progress. I always do :D
  13. Looks like the work of Deshonko again . Speaking of which, wonder when they'll open for Christmas orders :D
  14. Keep a close eye on the condition of his front teeth. They may be more prone to tartar than in a dog with more correct bite. Thanks for your advice poodlefan, Raz and BlueStaff. I often check inside his mouth, and I have had the vet check it a few months ago. I will certainly be getting it checked regularly though, as the vet explained what can happen and how he may need GA to take care of it. And thanks also for not shooting me down!
  15. I ummed and ahhed about posting here, but what the heck! As you probably guessed, I bought my blue boy from a BYB. That was BEFORE I found DOL, and back then I knew no better. I do now, so please no :D My boy has skin issues, and no, I was not informed that blue's are prone to skin issues (no big surprise, right?). My boy also has an overshot jaw. I was told of this, but not the implications (i.e. his lower canines jut into the roof of his mouth/palate). As I had no intention of showing or breeding, I didn't mind. My question is this - what would have happened to him if he was born into a litter of a reputable breeder? Would he have been PTS due to his jaw? I have often wondered. I know dogs that aren't "show standard" could be sold to homes as pets, but would the same happen for dogs with a physical (but not disabling) fault? I am perfectly happy with my boy, and wouldn't swap him for quids. He's a wonderful pet, and is great with my children. I would be lost without him.
  16. WOW, Nugget/Dutch is one of the best looking pups I've ever seen. I can't decide which calendar I like better! Amazing work, tdierikx. Better start saving my pennies, I think.
  17. Recently we had a female doggie friend over to play with our male. My 8yo son pipes up "Look Mum! Benson's having a piggy back!" Sometimes I wish they didn't have to grow up and lose that innocence.
  18. Today a special friend of mine passed away. He was a gentle giant. He had a hard life, and a hard exterior to match. But those who broke down his tough shell managed to see the real Jackster. I fell in love with the gentle giant. When I first met him, he scared me. I automatically dismissed him as a savage, dangerous dog. Luckily for me, I persevered. The ugly mutt showed me his soft interior once he knew I was a regular visitor to his place. Many a day was spent with the big galumph sitting on my foot for back rubs, or his massive head nudging me for ear scratches. I didn't know him for very long. But the time I spent with him will be cherished. He was big, lumpy, cranky and short-tempered. Guess what? SO AM I!!! Rest in peace darling J. I will miss you. But I won't forget you. The tears I shed are partly selfish, because my time with you was short, and partly happy tears, because I know you are no longer in pain. Run free big boy
  19. Congratulations Dee_Al. Your new boy looks so sweet! Looking forward to more pics
  20. That may be me What exactly are you after? I often walk dogs, can supply a good reference, and have a young dog of my own. Is it all day care, or do you want your dog walked? My boy is very respectful and well socialised, and I love dogs. PM me if you want.
  21. After reading this thread, I have decided to try Uncle Albers. I compared the protein and fat content to our current SuperCoat Puppy, and found both had 14% fat, and the protein only differed by 1% (SCoat 29%, UA 28%). It doesn't look or smell that bad, and I gave Benson a few tidbits to sample as I was mixing it into his remaining SuperCoat. He couldn't get enough! After seeing Ellz's Staffords, and hearing the feedback from other exhibitors and breeders, I am looking forward to seeing how my boy does on it, and whether his itches decrease or not.
