Will do I am looking forward to seeing Raz in the flesh. You can't really appreciate his gorgeous markings as much in your sig. I think he'd be stunning in person.

Where are you based Jadesamara? Dandy and I might be doing a bushwalk next weekend to a resovoir where the dogs can swim its near by us in Logan. Otherwise Saturday's I am usually free all day. I am west of Brisbane - past Pullenvale. I think I'll give the bushwalk a miss...I have a leech phobia I took Benson to New Farm park this morning for an hour. He had a ball playing with a beagle, some SWFs, and a couple of other Labradoodle-types. We didn't mind the light sprinkle, but once it turned to heavy ran we left. He's sound asleep now. Maybe next Saturday, or the one after? Anyone is welcome. I know Scarlett Dog is free Saturdays, and I think Dandy said she's up for playdates. I don't want to take over the Brisbane Meet side of things...but sometimes I sit here of a weekend, bored. And Benson just looooves playing with other doggie friends.

I can't make Sunday, but I would love to catch up for a playdate sometime. Weekends are better for me. I'm happy to travel up to about an hour away, and prefer fenced areas. I like New Farm Park (though it's just over an hour away), Booker Place at Bellbowrie is excellent (has agility jumps/tunnels/ramps) as well as a couple of undercover seating areas. If you prefer, you can PM me...as I'm on DOL pretty much daily.

Aww, Inga is gorgeous! So relieved she is well again.

My gosh, what a horrible thing to have to go through. My thoughts are with you, and we are sending positive vibes your way. Please let us know how she goes. We have everything crossed for you. Good luck.

Poor Old Staffords Being Dragged Around In The Heat
jadesamara replied to jadesamara's topic in General Dog Discussion
I did pull up next to them last week, and gush over how gorgeously old the Staffords looked (through the car window). The man was less than talkative However last time I saw them, a lady was walking them. I might try my luck with her, I think. I will keep you informed. Thanks for everyone's advice, and support, with this. -
You did the right thing, Michelleva. I know it's awful when your babies are in pain (either skinkids or furkids), and sometimes things don't always go as planned. Dogs are so resilient - I've even seen dogs with amputations who run faster than 4 legged ones! If she does have a limp, I'm sure she won't even notice it - it certainly won't stop her doing anything. Your little girl will have a long, happy life with such a caring and responsible owner, (limp or no limp), so don't you worry I trust the vet will be keeping her comfortable and pain-free over the weekend anyway. She'll be fine

Brisbane Woofstock Dolers Meet
jadesamara replied to Keira&Phoenix's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thank you dandybrush, for taping the talent quest, and showing it. It was great to watch - Tessa is a clever little girl, and Biscuit blew me away! I have never seen a greyhound doing tricks/obedience etc. He was gorgeous, and so devoted to his owner. -
Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed two elderly Staffordshires being dragged walked on a Y-leash by their owner. It's generally around 2pm when I've driven past them on the main street. They are very grey, and seem to hobble (as opposed to actually walking). The dogs are generally lagging behind the owner, struggling to keep up, with their tongues hanging out. Now I don't want to be a whinger, and believe in each to their own - perhaps they are destructive at home and need to be walked etc etc. However two days ago when I drove by, the poor dogs were exhausted - laying "froggy" under the shade of a tree in the middle of the footpath, with the owner standing by ready to move on once they were up on their feet again. We have had between 36 - 30 degrees this week, and I just feel this is too much. I have no place interferring in this man's pet ownership, but as a fellow Stafford owner, and having an extremely soft spot for old Staffs (see thread Kudos To Jadesamara in "General Dog Discussion" and you'll read about the 13 y.o. I saved ) I just felt sick seeing this. Am I over-reacting? Please don't me or tell me to mind my own business . I honestly just feel pity for these poor guys, and am not sure whether this is okay and I'm just too sensitive, or whether this seems cruel to anyone else

Awl Wins Tender For Ipswich Council Pound
jadesamara replied to Cr Andrew Antoniolli's topic in General Dog Discussion
That was brilliant! I can't talk to the AWL proposal but I think a council member putting a proposal like this up for discussion on a popular and passionate dog forum is awesome. Well done Ipswich - it's where I was born!. ;) This is a great step forward for animal management in Ipswich. I am a stone's throw from the Ipswich council area of Karalee/Chuwar, and therefore fall under BCC. This is unfortunate, as the pollies for this area are more concerned with impressing the wealthy/upper class in Pullenvale/Brookfield etc. I have always found the Ipswich councillors approachable and down-to-earth (I bumped into Mayor Pisasle once shopping, and he struck up a conversation while we were waiting at the checkout). Well done  -
I hope to get along to some meets also, but Kroll Gardens would have taken me an hour and a half. Gold Coast will prob be the same. I am west too, Flick_mac. Benson is an honorary Shar Pei and we are often going to the Pei meets at parks, so he's comfortable with other dogs . Our last meet was at a dog park at Kalinga (not Kallangur). It wasn't too busy, and was fully fenced. Don't know the name of it though.

Vet Chiropractor In Brisbane
jadesamara replied to Beth.'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My Mum swore by Tony at Fernvale Vet. I know it's a bit of a distance, but a great breeder suggested him, and Mum was very happy with him. -
Recently I noticed my boy lying on his back as you described above. He had a supposedly long-lasting edible chew-thing in his mouth, on his back on his couch. Had to laugh. He was doing the squirm thing too. And yep, all around our yard are plastic containers the kids have left outside accidently, or half-chewed toys. He's even got into my peg basket...caught him happily chewing on the plastic ones

I just saw the Doggy Dentures ad on telly. Very cute! It got my attention, I must say. Well done Pedigree, for the creativity

Thanks Ams, for allowing me to leave the exhausted old boy at your place. I had a delivery of wine yesterday arvo, which I was going to put aside for you. Unfortunately OH and son were out the front playing cricket, so needless to say, OH enjoyed the wine last night

My condolences to your sister, and run free, Chyna girl.

I have experienced something similiar when our late Max (Staffordshire) was bitten by a snake. We raced him there, they took him out the back, then came out to ask about money. This was a vet we attended regularly. Unfortunately my boy didn't make it, and I have never set foot in that surgery again. And I have no problem letting others know how I feel when I get asked for vet recommendations. Our current vet (for the past 10 or so years) had treated our late Jade (Dobermann) for 2 different Brown Snake bites, as well as tick paralysis once or twice. Seeing how upset I was in each instance, I was handed an account...NOT grilled on the spot about how much I earn, how will I pay, how much can I pay etc etc. Bartok, I'm sorry for your friend.
