  1. Well I nearly killed Daisy yesterday through my own stupid, stupid, stupidity Came home about 10:30pm after a barbie with friends to find a manic Daisy - she had eaten most of a bar of 85% chocolate So she has been at the emergency vet all night, it was touch and go at one point, heart rate of 280 and 2lts of fluid in and only 300ml out via the urethrae catheter (sp?) She finally started letting the fluid back out of her system, but has had a very high heart rate most of the night. They made her vomit when we first got there and a load of it came back up, but 85% cocoa is such a strong dose for a little dog. We had to take her to our regular vet this morning, so she is now there on an iv drip and has had more charcoal. Her heart rate is still 180 so still really worried about her, but we thought we were losing her at one point in the night Hopefully the heart rate will drop as the poison flushes out of her system. They made Louis vomit too, as although I was 90% sure it was Daisy who got it all we had to check. Luckily he was ok. It's all our fault - the MIL bought the chocolate and left it on the table, I had registered it a couple of times, but just totally forgot to move it now poor little Daisy has gone through all of this because of me I hope all other dogs that have been to the vets over the past couple of days are doing ok
  2. Brilliant pic he looks so serious I really like that TN What a happy photo LL :D He's a beautiful boy, wonky paw or not :D That is so pretty CP :D Another Skink from me today, as needed something quick and willing before heading out for a barbie Day 26
  3. That's really gorgeous Such cute little toes Congratulations Great capture, love all the whiskers Love the colours in this I love trees with roots like this, they are so amazing Awwww, sleepy dog :p So I got some virtually in focus shots of a Hoverfly in flight today, and some nice sharp ones of birds in the trees now I have my new zoom lens back - but then I got this one and it won for pic of the day Day 25 - Louis
  4. Woo Hoo - Congratulations TN ;) Now, how many attempts to get that pic What a beautiful foal TD, and look how well she's standing already Apologies for the lack of comments, should have more time tomorrow :D It was a grey and miserable day all day here today, so I photographed the only thing with any colour Day 24
  5. Yup I pay as well, primarily as you get to link to the original size you uploaded. Even if you only uploaded say an 800x600, it will still compress the photo after you've uploaded it. With the 'pro' account you have the option to link to the original uncompressed size :D
  6. A quick fly by from me, sorry can't comment on them all, but great pics as always from everyone :D Just a quick Indy snap from me today Day 23
  7. Are you able to show me this?? I'm really willing to learn, I hate this problem  Thanks guys heaps, Dad and my brothers friends dad tried playing with it, Dad even got erm... Creative? And made it look like er eyes were GLOWING. Like hollywood lights -.-' He thought it was funny What camera have you got? ETA - This explains it well http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/i....html#fillflash This is a good link and something I need to read properly myself. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=171657 But basically even when shooting in daylight, the flash can be very useful at making images 'pop' a bit more.
  8. Yay, a Lola pic ;) Lovely shot fattima, really captured that stare ;) It's a very rich, dark stout - some good descriptions of it here. The crazy thing is I was living about 20mins from where it is brewed in Scotland 6 months ago, but never tasted it until we moved here
  9. ;) It smells and tastes awesome  I don't drink much really, so it all equals out over time cost wise I will, thanks ;)
  10. How about a bit of fill-in flash? That would help put a glint in the eye.

  17. Wow, thanks for all the lovely comments guys They are very good for your garden as they predate on aphids - hoverflies are your friend Now I have the 7D, and these were with the Tamron 60mm macro. Hand held, but he was very obliging and sat still on leaves and let me get very close! All the hovering ones are pants, he even hovered directly in front of my lens a few times and I still couldn't get the little bugger That will be my next mission, to get a decent in flight pic
  18. As I've used up my daily allowance in the Jan challenge , I thought I'd post these here as I'm pretty happy with how these turned out Spent a while with this little feller by the herb pot today, although failed to get a single decent one of him in flight
