  3. Poor Dora, hope she's back to her normal self now. Love the pic Gorgeous, just look at their faces I prefer the one with a splash of colour, but they are both really nice - lovely capture
  4. OMG she is beautiful She's a gorgeous colour....will she darken up? Who are you going to see? We're of to Tim Minchin on the friday night, but I know he's doing saturday too. Awwww how lovely Pics please Have you let slip to Mason that a puppy is on the horizon? perhaps that's why he's being clingy Sod having a lab sleep on top of you in this weather though
  5. Beautiful I love frogs but haven't seen a single one here so far. Wow, that's one mean wasp :D Poor spider, but lovely shot Great Skink catch FM Luckily my dogs ignore them - in fact when I was taking a pic of the one I put on here the other day, it ran straight towards Daisy who was lying on the door mat, and she stared at it and walked off in annoyance that it had disturbed her
  6. Flaves - What a gorgeous, handsome GSD you have - lovely expression in week 7 Naaaaaaw Happy Belated Birthday Pepper Love this one That is so adorable Wow, love the colours in this Helen - Fab Awwwww another cutie on a chair ;) Week 8 - Cheeky Lorikeet I was wandering around a small lake in Perth and heard chirping behind me - two of these guys were at eye level in a tree behind me, which enabled me to get fairly close to them to snap away for a few shots
  7. Well I don't need my glasses for photography - yet! but there are more than a few grey hairs showing through, so perhaps it's the right age group for me after all Thanks for the comments on the photo guys I'll go with this for one of my entries then, need to think up another abstract one now as 2 entries per member allowed. I'm not naturally arty so should be interesting
  8. LOL, no offence taken They do have some interesting 'educational' evenings and guest speakers....a portrait shoot one night, which will be interesting for me as I don't 'do' people in photos I don't know enough people over here to be willing victims yet
  9. So I've joined a local camera club......it that a bit nerdy? I think I'm about 20 yrs younger than the average age, but that means there is a lot of experience there to learn from Anyway there is a monthly competition and the next one has a set subject of 'Abstract' 'A pictorial & pleasing arrangement of colours /shapes which are not recognisable as known objects.' Would you say this is abstract enough
  10. He's a stunner Love the bird one, so instinctive Looks like he's settling in well
  11. Thanks guys I took a few more on Wednesday..... Rainbow Lorikeets - their colouration is unbelievable! Purple Swamphen Does anyone know what this raptor is? It was hunting dragonflys over the lake - amazing to watch
  12. Sorry to hear about the cat Rach.....poor little kitty Congratulations and Good Luck for the day Phew tell me about it....barely dropped below 27 for most of the night I went to explore round Herdsman Lake yesterday....didn't last too long the heat and the millions of signs about tiger snakes made me a bit wary

  16. Another simple pleasure is opening a fresh pot of sheeps yoghurt and finding a 'skin' on top....my fav bit, I just love the taste and texture of it
  17. Ooooo look at all that lush grass Sammie - you don't live in Perth do you The simple pleasure of being allowed to finish the ice cream cone
  18. Yup they are on my Flickr page in my 'Birds' set http://www.flickr.com/photos/56265770@N02/...57625706128518/
  19. Thanks, they were such characters Trouble is they spent all their time in the shade, so not the sharpest of pics Nope these are my first fighting corella pics :D lol, yes the reflections are real I don't have photoshop, and even if I did, I sure wouldn't have the skill to create reflections like that The lake was very calm but also quite silty in parts, and the sky was cloudless, hence the clear blue relections Photos were cropped and adjusted for sharpness and exposure, but no real changes to colours :D
  20. These were taken a few days ago at Jualbup Lake in Shenton Park, Perth - usually a seasonal dry lake this time of year, but it has been 'controversially' filled by groundwater pumped from a development site. Anyway it's brought some nice bird life to the area for me to practice on
  21. I think I'd be exactly the same - fascinated but terrified at the same time
  22. It's the el cheepo sunbeam one but it does my espresso a treat Awwww bless - it's almost as big as him
  23. Louis has a ridiculous amount of clothing but unfortunately it would all swamp a chi pup, otherwise they could have had something of his No training for me and Louis tonight as feeling a bit crook, but I was very pleased with him yesterday We went round Lake Monger, and we haven't been there for a while, but he was so good - we passed several dogs and *most* of the time I managed to keep his focus on me - yay go Louis
  24. redangel - woah! is that a huntsman? I haven't seen one yet.....I've only found little spiders since getting my macro I want to see a big fat juicy huntsman.....preferably at a safe distance though FM - what a cute little froglet KK - Love that shot Some from the past few days..... Finally an almost in focus shot of a hoverfly in flight, a very boring background though Ants on some watermelon. And a little skink My shots with my macro lens are all in this Flickr set http://www.flickr.com/photos/56265770@N02/...ith/5458278534/
