  1. Can I come and join the fun to take pics :D I won't bring my two as although they are small, they are also deadly Here's a shot of Albi, the chi x italian greyhound - I fell in love with this little speed merchant :D
  2. OMG ST they are getting even more gorgeous I WANT pm me the details for the raffle tickets - if it's not too late! Glad Wandys toe seems fixed :D Hope all went ok at the vet with Mason this morning.
  3. Thanks everyone I don't need any prodding for that task Puppy cuddles
  4. Brilliant thanks Kristin, that seems to fit the bill nicely as I was hoping to find something that covered the long end a bit more too I've been looking on a flickr group at samples and it looks a nice lens, I like the close focusing as well, plus at about half the price of the canon, I can get a speedlite too I was hoping for a fixed 2.8 zoom, but to be honest the pics I've seen at f4 @70mm on this lens look pretty good :D
  5. Another vote for Shade here - love the 'late in the day' look :D I agree, totally gorgeous
  6. Thanks guys :D Next time first place ;) lol, yes it does
  7. Awwwwww poor Ruby Hope she's feeling better now This was our Frida after a suspected wasp sting, she came up in hives all over her body and her face looked like Rubys! This pic was after the vet trip and an intravenous steriod (I think) jab We made sure to tell her new owners not to let her play with wasps And yes she has got her nose shoved in a yogurt pot Hope the vet trips went well for everyone else as well today.
  8. After five months of entering the monthly comp at the camera club I go to, I finally got a placing tonight I was so pleased and got some really nice comments about my pic from the judge - happy bunny tonight :D My 2nd place photo - Curious Jumper Curious Jumper by HairlessHounds, on Flickr
  9. He is a gorgeous boy He belongs to someone who attends the training class I go to, a few people in the class let me practice my photography on their dogs :D
  10. Congratulations on all the passes over the weekend One day I'll have a 'normal' dog again that I can do stuff with Where's this Tiggy? and are there many other dogs around?
  11. Thanks Lolapalooza :D another one to throw into the mix.....a few day researching ahead of me I think
  12. He is gorgeous EI and what a beautiful glossy coat he's got :D I got to photograph an English Pointer a few weeks back, he was so lovely too with the most beautiful temperament Here
  13. When we first got our greyhound we would put her muzzle on when she was in the garden and the cats were out, just to be on the safe side ;) Anyway she would hunt cat poo down in the garden and try to eat it through the muzzle - can you imagine how nice that was to clean up, claggy scottish mud mixed in with sticky cat poo
  14. Thanks Kristin, that's reassuring to know :D I think the canon 17-55 is looking good at the moment, the Sigma equivalent looks good value compared to the canon as well. I have a couple of Tamrons so have np with 3rd party lenses ;)
  15. That's gorgeous ange What lovely eyes he has Wow, that is cheap, $385 - cheaper than B&H!
  16. Awwwww that's so lovely and a great video :D
  17. Congratulations Rach, hope you really enjoy your new job It's something I would love to have done That's a shame OhMarley, I sure she won't be there for long though once she's up for adoption My lot have given up walking....they see no need for it in this weather and think burrowing under a duvet is more than enough exercise thank you very much!
  18. Love it :D I upgraded from a 350D and enjoy the extra features and the higher iso capabilities. Thanks ange, the 24-70 is one I'm considering, but wonder if a new version isn't far off as it's been out for a good few years now, mind you there is always something 'newer' round the corner Thanks for this suggestion kja, looking at the lens photo archive on POTN it certainly seem pretty nice :D Do you have any issues with the lack of weather sealing with it in the dry dusty environment here? Any Sigma wide/standard zoom owners out there?
  19. lol, as I was writing the post I said to myself don't forget to mention the body - doh Canon 7D, so a crop sensor. Thanks Snook how did you find the weight of the 24-70? Gorgeous photos from it
  20. I've been having fun with my 50mm recently, but have felt a lot of the time I could do with something wider, especially as I've been practicing on dogs in the 'reactive rover' class I go to, which means it has been restricted to back yards due to the dogs problems with other dogs in more open spaces. So am thinking along the lines of a 24-70mm, or 17-50mm type range. I don't mind if it overlaps the 50mm a bit, and could even stretch the budget to my very first L lens However I am also open to the likes of Sigma and Tamron, but I am looking for a fast lens with really nice optical quality Let me know what you have in this range and how you find it for dog photography. Samples welcome Cheers :D
  21. Our cat has a litter tray with a hood and a cat flap entrance going into it - doesn't deter one of my little dogs from sticking his nose in, but he only sniffs and so far hasn't got far enough in to retrieve any delicious cat poo!
  22. I had a bunny like that as a kid, a serious attitude problem that my cats knew too well
  23. omg I had no idea you could get bunny coats and having a hairless dog I know a fair bit about animal clothing I really hate to generalize about a breed, but the only chows I have known were as a kid and they were bad tempered sods!
