  1. RS - thanks for the invite, but unfortunatly I won't be able to make it - sounds like you'll have a great night though :D Oooooo very exciting :D Awwwww they are just gorgeous, and look at her point RV - How's little miss Zora doing after her second night My little Indy was back at the vets last night She had another blood test last week to re-check her thyroid and liver enzyme levels. Thyroid back down but continuing raised levels in the liver, so they are thinking some form of hepatitis. She is doing ok in herself, but we need to start treatment for the liver problems as the raised levels aren't dropping and it's been a few months now. She was put on AB's and an antioxidant and as a result hasn't eaten since sunday morning. So she is now of the medication, so we can see if her appitite returns and she had an anti-nausea jab last night. She still hasn't eaten anything over night, so I hope she's had something by the time I get home as cats not eating is not a good thing.....they can go downhill so fast She seems a bit 'tucked up' but pretty bright in herself so hopefully once the medication is out of her system she'll start eating again, then we'll let her settle for a few day and re-introduce the drugs once at a time and see how she goes. Sorry long ramble and it's not even about a dog, but she means the world to us
  2. Love the chook shot :D The middle one is about to strike from the looks of it
  3. Woo Hoo enjoy it Ravyk, be sure to post some pics
  4. Lovely shots peeps I get the best bokeh from my macro lens :D and from my 50mm and too much bokeh for me, would have liked more in focus in this one Someone commented on Flickr that they don't usually like 'fake bokeh' but they did in this case
  5. Be my guest Ok quick first shot from my new Sigma 17-70mm lens. I've still not had a chance to really try it out (damn rain ) but I got this one on saturday. Early shots look promising, nice and sharp and AF seems quick :D It's amazing how close I can get to my subject now, which is useful for Indy because as soon as she see me with my camera she just come straight towards me  This was at 17mm and I think she was almost touching the lens hood
  6. anniek - Looks like he's having fun in the sun :D kja - ha ha that's great :D Not a boring shot at all, it's lovely Thank you I have a Tamron 60mm Macro, I just love it :D Lil Miss LeiLani - What a sweetie, look at those huge eyes :D MTD - Happy cat :D What a gorgeous colour he is Evolving - Lovely shot of Echo, looks like she has a naughty glint in her eye Week 26 - Stretch Indy Stretch!
  7. Oh she is adorable RV  love your 3rd pic of her :D She is bigger than I expected, not sure why I thought she would be smaller Glad the introductions have gone well, Toby sounds like he is being a star :D
  8. With regards to the liver for treats, what I do is just bake it whole in the oven at about 150 C until it looks done, let it cool and then chop in to small pieces - the same for heart as well. I then bag into small portions and freeze, so always have a stash of it in the freezer. Also dog roll - I cut it into small cubes and roll in corn meal and bake at a low temperature for a while until it looks like its dried out, then bag and freeze. It's always worth looking at the cat treat section in pet stores as well, you can get bags of tiny fish and small treats that are good for training
  9. How about a tele-converter? I don't really know much about them, but it would increase your focal length, and with an f1.8 you would still have a decent aperture
  10. Hey nice shots Kirislin Great panning and love the sunburst :D
  11. Thanks for that info As someone who will probably be returning to the UK in a few years with my gang, it should make things a lot simpler
  12. Well done RnH, sounds like a successful trip Very jealous of Afghan and Cocker cuddles, love both those breeds :D Lucky you - make sure you take loads :D I would be so excited too if I was you RV, hope all goes well and you have a smooth trip back
  13. Oh no sorry to hear that Rach hope all goes ok for him today.
  14. Have a look at this, it may be helpful as a preventative once the initial problem is cleared up. I use it regularly on my dogs and it was highly recommended on a large cocker spaniel forum I used to frequent :D http://www.thornitearpowder.com/ Hope Lola is feeling better soon
  15. Not too much as after spending a few months with them at home, I know all they do is lie on the sofa all day and snore Mine are indoors though, so I only worry about bladder control, luckily they both seem to have cast iron bladders and there are rarely any accidents Yesterday Daisy would not pee in the morning, so by the time I got home from work she hadn't peed for nearly 18hrs She still took her own sweet time over it when I got home and let them out I must look into getting a dog walker to come round and let them out at lunchtime Welcome back AmyPie :D
  16. Awwww he looks right at home, congrats on your latest failure :D
  17. Woo Hoo my shiney new Sigma has arrived Stuck at work though and it's pouring down outside so not sure when I can test it Sorry you're not happy with your lens Kirislin....vignetting can be easliy tweaked in lightroom ;)
  18. I didn't know there was a choice? It's basically the database of any changes/edits/flags etc you have done to your files. tlc - I export my pics too after editing, but it was scary to see all the pics in lightroom that I have spent hours editing back to their original raw state! Not fun if you want to make further edits Excellent, thanks for that tip it will be very usefull :D
  19. Yeah I'm not too keen on this comp - kinda hits a nerve when in real life your dog is laughed at and called ugly by passers by Louis sayz "I iz NOT ugly, just different" :D
  20. Great story I was moving here from the UK, so joined before I moved to get to know more about doggie life in Perth and hopefully meet some fellow dog lovers And that I have - I've met some really lovely people round here, in fact had a great walk with one today :D
  21. Fab pics everyone :D Sorry hopefully have time to comment in the week, had a Lightroom disaster today so just a flying (no pun intended ) visit from me today Week 25 - Freaky Fly
  22. After rapidly running out of space on my hard drive, I bought an shiny new 2TB external drive and copied all my photos onto there - simple right? Opened Lightroom and went to import the new location, fine......uh oh, not fine No edits showing - aaarrrgggghhhhh After some help from google and several moves back and forth from old location and using backups of the catalogue, I finally got it all resolved after a few hours. So just a warning really - if you plan to move your photo library to a new location, google first and find the correct way to do it with lightroom, rather than just plow headfirst into it like me  Also make sure you have regular backups of your catalogue, as I would have been stuffed without a recent one ;)
