  3. About $1400 on B&H - they are worth checking out for lenses as their prices are very competitive and I've always had great service from then http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/680103-USA/Canon_2751B002_EF_70_200mm_f_2_8L_IS.html Although $1300 on DWI..... http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=946
  4. I recently got the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM and am really liking it I love my 50mm, but needed something that gave me a wider angle and this hasn't disappointed :D I've been finding it a great all purpose lens and love the 17-70mm range it covers Some pics that I have taken with it here... http://flic.kr/s/aHsjvb3kJa This was the thread that lead me to this lens http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/222286-another-what-lens-thread/ and another thread here, more a wide angle lens one, but if you're think of buying Sigma, take note of the warranty info in this thread. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/222416-wide-angle-prime-lens-advice/ However..... I got it from DCW for $542 due to the warranty issue, but I now see DWI have it for $379 I may have tempted to risk the warranty issue at that price, but they didn't stock it when I was looking. http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod6718.htm http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=2733 Good luck with your decision :D
  5. lol I did a marine toxicology course as part of the degree....I'm amazed I ever went back in the sea again after that! but that was in the relative safety of Eurpoean waters.....I've not been brave enough to swim in the sea here yet I loved uni as a mature student, I felt so old compared to a lot of the students there, but looking back on it I was still only a baby at 24 There was a large % of mature students where I went, so we easily formed groups and friends Good luck with whatever you choose RS :D
  6. I did marine biology at uni, love all that stuff

  17. He is a working type cocker and still in the UK (had to re-home him last year, but he's very happy on a farm) I see the fabulous typical cocker traits in your boy though :D A few of his pics are here http://s189.photobucket.com/albums/z49/screamingswifts/Fargo/?start=all including some serious tongue action
  18. I love seeing your photos of Barkly, he is just so gorgeous and always reminds me of my old blue roan cocker boy.....his tongue was always hanging out too
  19. Nice first shots, well done When you look through your view finder you will see a focal point (Have a look in your manual, you will have more than one focal point and it should have a picture of them) Put the focal point over the subjects eye when you take a picture and press your shutter button enough to focus, but not all the way down.....whilst still holding the shutter button half way down you can then re-compose your shot if needed. Hope that makes sense, I'm never very good at explaining things
