  1. Thanks guys :D I'd have to pay to get a second portfolio, but I might just do that as it would be nice to see my macros in a similar format Cheers RV and thanks for the gorgeous models ;)
  2. Awww what a star - enjoy your retirement Callie :D
  3. Looks like they had a fantastic time Love the tug of war one :D
  4. Your dogs always look so happy and full of life in your photos :D Well done Dora I look forward to seeing more of her in here
  5. Thanks guys - things will be clearer once I've spoken to her. Glad to hear he is back home now :D Was he just being a big sooky baby Sounds like he is part greyhound - if they even so much as stub a toe you would think they are being torn limb from limb  eta - you got in before me MG - Awww poor Gibbs sorry didn't mean to make light of it No we wouldn't bring them over for the same reasons we didn't bring them over to start with - they are outdoor cats and big hunters of rodents, which isn't a problem in the UK, but understandably outside hunting cats are not tolerated well over here.
  6. Brilliant face! Had a email from a friend back in the UK who gave a home to our two other cats when we left.....things aren't working out between them and her existing cat Apparently they are ganging up on him and he's sleeping outside and losing weight, and with winter coming she doesn't want him to feel like he can't come into the house. She says she doesn't know what to do next. It's such a shame as it's the perfect place for them, in a really quiet village away from any roads, loads of space around them and her kids love them, but I can't expect her to keep them if her original cat is suffering I'll speak to her tomorrow, but I feel so bad as I can't bear the thought of them going into a cats home I'll speak to my parents and see if they are interested - they lost their cat to old age a couple of years ago, but the trouble is I think they are enjoying having no ties now. Maybe my friend could find another good home for them in the village Sorry lots of sad faces, but I hate being so far away from them and feel rather helpless.
  7. for you and Gibbs, keep us informed won't you. Poor thing, hope he is reunited with his owner soon.
  8. I left school in 1984, sooooo long ago now No, but I lost contact with my best friend from school not long after leaving (no email back in the dark ages ) and via my nans funeral a couple of years ago (both our mums were there) was re-connected with her. Turned out she was moving to Perth from the UK so I didn't think I'd really be seeing her again, until spookily we found out we would be coming here too a few month after.....so I met her again for the first time in 26 years in Fremantle and we have become good friends again :D P.S Time to step away from the coffee now Rosie
  9. Thanks CTRW for your comments on them all :D
  10. Super shots Kirislin Love the sense of movement in the first one especially
  11. Shame you can't view them Kirislin Going Pro - no way I would need way more talent and 'real' photography skills and knowledge than I have at the moment
  12. Great capture :D Jack is a handsome lad, and Bear is one big boy!
  13. Thank you Luke, that’s just the sort of feedback I’m after :D I use Lightroom for my processing, but have to admit pretty much just messing about till I like the look of things A lot of my B&Ws are based on a pre-set called ‘pretty brown’ which I need to check when I get home, but I don’t think it’s a true B&W conversion….would that affect the full tonal range you are talking about? I certainly need to spend time learning about and understanding post processing properly. I worry about things looking too dark....perhaps I need to embrace the dark side a bit more I want to get a decent monitor as well - I’m currently editing on my laptop, which while it has a very nice 15.6" HD 1920x1080 LED display, I would like lovely big monitor :D Rain or very bright sunshine seem to be the only two conditions here in WA
  14. Over the recent months I have been practicing my photography on willing DOL members dogs and also some dogs from the training class I go to I have just joined 500px and put what I feel are some of my best shots up there, so thought I would share them here and also ask for your comments and criticism - this is 'just' a hobby for me, but one I love, so any advice on improvement welcome :D http://hairlesshounds.500px.com/hairlesshounds_pet_photography Cheers :D
  15. Ah the benefit of having a hairless dog - although he can get a 'sweaty boy' smell sometimes But I think diet makes a huge difference - with the 3 rescues I had they were all a bit whiffy on arrival, but that seemed to go once they were on a good diet - I never bathed them so it couldn't have been due to that
  16. Wow Ange, that is really interesting flare! cool Helen and Huga, what beautiful light in those photos
  17. Great pics :D He is just soooo sweet I love the teefies one
  18. http://www.northernsuburbsdogclub.org/ They do agility on wed eves - any good?
  19. Very nice MM Looks like you're getting the hang of it pretty quickly :D Love the one of the Mandrill, even if it is completely freaky
  20. Congrats Booker and Jerry for your puppy wins Look at the size of those necks Where do you get them from? as even my little ones tend to inhale chicken necks! Thanks RV for a lovely relaxing day :D and lovely to finally meet you properly ST, your pups are just adorable Louis says thank you for his impromptu de-fuzzing ;) My two are pooped on the sofa, dead to the world, again I was very pleased with Louis - he did well with three pups bouncing around, and even tried to initiate play with Zora at one point I see a Brittany in my future when I return to the UK ;) Can't believe how much Zora has grown in just 3 weeks, a real beauty
  21. I've only just noticed......spot the Toby
  22. Thanks Kirislin, I do love my macro lens lol, I think that snail shot is about the only 'planned' shot I have done, most have been happy accidents I feel I popped him down the bottom of the stem and waited for him to reach the top, and he obliged :D
  23. Wow, sounds like a brilliant night all round Huge congratulations to everyone Now if I only understood what all these CDX and UDs etc meant, I'd be even more impressed chico - I think there is tracking and sledging? but really I don't have a clue - wait for the the experts to come along
