  1. I saw Gibbs' commercial last night, very cute We've had some positive news regarding the two cats back home, it sounds like she has found a lovely home for them :D It's the mother of her sons' friend and she's coming to see them this week - she lives in a nice quiet village, and is 'cat mad' but currently cat-less, and wants some older cats not kittens, so fingers crossed they behave and she falls for them
  2. Very nice :D I came across a couple of these mating at the weekend, but didn't have my camera on me, so they were left to continue in peace
  3. She is just gorgeous Rusky, what a lovely girl I'm guessing the Goon Show eta - oops I think I'm confused - eckythump was in The Goodies, not The Goon Show
  4. That's the exact same bar that nearly killed my Daisy on Australia Day this year - thanks to the MIL That totally captures her puppy naughtiness
  5. I know the feeling only too well - 14 months ago I collected my two dogs and one cat from quarantine after moving over from the UK There were very happy tears all round :D I still use Milbemax to worm my lot, it is the same as in the UK, it's just that the heartworm part isn't promoted there. I live on the West coast here and don't think the risk is quite so high as on the east coast ....we also don't have paralysis tick round Perth. Hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow with your labs :D eta - Welcome to DOL as well, it's a wealth of information
  6. Super shots You've really captured the action there - love the second one the best :D
  7. That is sooooo cute boxagirl :D Booker is growing so fast
  8. Fab photos y'all Will try and comment tomorrow, just a flying catch-up visit to add my recent ones Week 39 - Louis Week 40 - Dinner! Week 41 - Awwww, one of six cute cygnets we saw today
  9. What a totally adorable face I loved meeting the weim pups the other week.......still need to sort through my photos for that day
  10. Awwww what a sweet photo, how lovely to see her so relaxed at such a big show
  11. Ok I'm going to throw a much cheaper alternative into the mix for you Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD - just over $400 on B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/728341-REG/Tamron_AFA005C700_SP_70_300mm_f_4_5_6_Di.html I have this and you really can't fault it's capabilities for the price, no it's not a Canon lens but I have been more than happy with it. You get the Tamron equivalent of IS and USM, so you very quick auto focusing, good for those action shots ;) It's worth considering if you're not ready to shell out for a L lens just yet Here are some examples of mine, including captures of dog agility, surfing, and birds and bugs flying. http://flic.kr/s/aHsjt3osCV
  12. That sucks, poor Lewis Hope he bounces back ok Don't worry I have no intention of going anywhere near a snake, I have the utmost respect for them and the dogs stay on lead round there.
  13. Uh-oh why's that Will look out for Gibbs stage debut MG and scary about Mason, glad he is ok Well I bottled out of going to the show Took the dogs for a lovely walk round Herdsman instead and saw my first Aussie snake :D I know most of you won't react with a smile, but I actually like snakes (kept them as kid). I'm guessing it was a Tiger snake - it was on the river bank on a bare patch of grass just above a duck and tiny ducklings, so guessing it was hunting. It disappeared like a shot when we approached. Hope those at the show today have had a successful day
  14. Lovely photos emery, your guys are just gorgeous Sounds like you had a fun time there :D So I'm still trying to decide whether to brave the crowds and go to the royal tomorrow or not Who's going to be there tomorrow and where and what time?
  15. I second Kathy I use her for my fear aggressive boy and she has helped immensely :D
  16. I don't have this lens, but I have another Tamron model which has the VC, and I have to say it works very well This is a good thread to see samples and opinions from the lens you are interested in. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=599376&highlight=tamron+18-270 B&H have it for $629, and they are generally one of the cheaper places around http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/747927-REG/Tamron_AFB008C700_AF18_270mm_f_3_5_6_3_Di_II.html
  17. Awwww so cosy :D My cat wouldn't be seen dead sleeping with my dogs
  18. Don't forget to take into consideration the sensor size and lenses. If I'm correct I believe your current 20D has the same size sensor APC-C 1.6 crop as the 7D, while the 1D has an APC-H 1.3 crop. The 1D only takes EF lens mounts but the 7D will take the same lenses as your 20D.
  19. Neither myself or my pooches would be any good for this, even if we weren't miles away but I wish you all the best with the project and look forward to seeing the results, I'm sure they will be amazing :D
  20. Congratulation to all those who have done well at the Royal so far and Good Luck for those yet to take part :D I may come down on saturday, but depends whether I can face the crowds or not
  21. If you buy the teacher or student edition you need to provide proof that you are a student or working at an educational establishment I believe ;)
  22. I got it through B&H last time they had this offer on - excellent value :D
  23. but that face is to die for I know a company that makes teflon coated tough dog beds, but with his jaws I don't know if even they would survive
