  3. Gorgeous emery, she is a beautiful girl indeed MG, sorry I totally forgot! pm me the file number of the pic you want
  4. Ah sorry worded that wrong - I'm not saying at all if you leave your dog entire then you are an irresponsible owner I meant that in terms of people who actually care for their pets rather than the numbskulls who just have them as the latest fashion accessory. I have never heard of it frowned upon by vets or discouraged, and there are usually campaigns running to encourage neutering. The UK isn't as relaxed as the rest of Europe when it comes to dog ownership and places you can take them, but it isn't as restrictive as here. I lived in Oslo for a couple of years and was surprised how popular Dachshunds were, they were everywhere in the city
  5. In the UK neutering is very common, so I find the remark "Fogle told Ted it's very rare that a British Citizen brings him a dog to neuter" a bit odd? It's pretty standard for 'responsible' pet owners have their dogs and cats neutered.
  6. Thanks Candice Is it full of off-lead dogs, or is it an on-lead event?
  7. Exactly what I was thinking RFT! I have my hair so short as it's too pathetic if it's longer - I'd love to have thick curly hair

  12. Can anyone enlighten me on this  eg, chicken carcasses, spoiled milk, bones. Sure dogs eat those things, but I struggle to believe any breed was developed to consume waste specifically
  13. Can anyone enlighten me on this
  14. Thanks for all the tips guys :D I'll try and be a bit more adventurous and see if I like the results. I'll post a couple in here once I'm done and you can critique away ;) I'll check out Silver Efex too, cheers Helen Huga - how can you say you are bad with colour I love the tone and overall effects you have in your colour shots, it's so distinctively 'you' :D One of the presets I use always really pushes these and I like the results :D
  15. lol, you're not much help then are you hmmm what do I think is missing? I feel they could be crisper and 'cleaner' if that makes sense but perhaps that's more to do with my exposure to start with I do play with the HSL sliders, but actually come to think of it, not so much with B&W. I'll pay attention to that next time, cheers :D
  16. Ok, any B&W conversions I try are pretty much based on Lightroom presets and then tweeked to suit. I feel I need to understand a bit more about proper B&W conversions, especially since LukeW mentioned recently about not using the full tonal range (but thanks for the advice Luke ) So can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial or site that will educate me in the art of B&W :D Thank you
  17. Thanks MTD I was pleased with the hoverfly as it was handheld and manual focus! Although he was being very cooperative and hovering in the same spot for a few seconds at a time which helped That is such a pretty pic of the blossom
  18. Awww poor doggies Hope all those with the coughs and snuffles feel better soon
  19. That is a gorgeous shot I wish we had frogs around, I haven't seen a single frog since living in Perth, I guess they are around somewhere but certainly not in my dry sandy garden DA and Tawnydal, some lovely shots there :D No frogs, but all these wee beasties kept me and my camera busy yesterday in the garden :D A Fluffy Jumper The little lizards are out and about now and apparently hungry, as even a dead dry moth was considered edible! (click for larger versions) A pretty shield bug A busy hoverfly.

  24. Hi HFB Back home is the UK, we moved over last year with the gang in the my signature, but for various heartbreaking reasons had to re-home 2 cats, a cocker and a grey We made sure they all went to great homes, but unfortunatly the two cats are bullying my friends original cat, so they are going to a new home.
