  1. Another open office vote here http://www.openoffice.org/ It's free and can open MS office files and save in the MS format too  Random Rant - I was looking forward to getting our new dog mobile next monday, but Hyundai have now informed us that production has been put back and we have to wait another month for it. Grrrrr
  2. Another vote for Tuffies  Mine loved them, yes the cocker would get the stuffing out after a few weeks, but as MTD says the 'carcass' lasted a couple of years We had the octopus and lobster.
  3. Lucky you Years ago I worked as a groom and got to round up cattle on a pony - it was so much fun ;)
  4. Thanks for the offer but 20 acres of bush sounds like snake territory to me - I'm still a nervous pom when it comes to bush land Ok confession time - I cheated ;) I wasn't logged on when I first read the thread so the image name showed up
  5. My Daisy is on a raw diet and produces 'lovely' firm boney poos but she just can't empty her anal glands herself, so unfortunately bones doesn't work all the time. The vet showed me how to do Daisy's and it's pretty simple really - I have to do hers about every 6-8 weeks. Louis occasionally gets the fishy smell, but only for a day, so I assume he then empties them himself
  6. Ok thanks Mas1981, good luck for sunday How far do you have to drive out of Perth to find deserted dog friendly beaches Louis hasn't had a free run since we left Scotland over 2 months ago and he loves having a good run. Until he is more comfortable with off-lead dogs I can't take him to the beaches round here Any other ideas for a very quiet place I can let him stretch his legs?
  7. If it pretty and decadent you're after, check these ones out http://www.hollyandlil.co.uk/boho-dog-collars-8-c.asp http://www.hollyandlil.co.uk/all-at-a-glance-12-w.asp
  8. Ah ok, thanks for the warning RS - one to avoid then
  9. Louis had his first 'reactive rover' class today and all went well It was all kept nice and calm and no dogs forced to do anything they or owners didn't feel comfortable with - Louis even sniffed the bum of the 'non-reactive' dog they had there to help out Can anyone recommend a vet NOR, near Cottesloe - I know there is one in Claremont - does anyone have any experience of this one? Louis has been more obsessive than usual with licking his feet over the past few days and I'd like to take him to a vet near to where we're moving to rather than one local to where we are now. Also what is Whiteman Park like? 2.5 hectares of fully fenced dog park sounds good http://www.whitemanpark.com.au/facilities/dogpark.aspx Cheers
  10. lol Cool photos we had a couple land in our tree last week but of course the camera was in the car I was surprised at the size of them, didn't realize they were so chunky
  11. So sorry VallyCBR hope today goes as well as it can for you and your family
  12. Some dogs can be funny about offal - although heart is a muscle meat and not true offal. Try without the veg and heart until he is comfortable eating it and them slowly introduce some offal (liver, kidneys). If he's still fussy then just flash fry the offal in a pan first to encourage him and just mix a small amount in with his mince. Lamb is usually eaten readily too - try some meaty lamb ribs or lamb flaps from a butcher. Chicken necks, wings and frames are all good too ;) As far as veg goes mine get the odd bit if I'm preparing some for our dinner, and every now and them I'll blitz up some veg and fruit in a blender, freeze it in ice cubes and give them one defrosted in their food a few times a week. Mine have eaten raw for ages but when moving here I tried them on the BARF patties and they wouldn't touch them
  13. The Twinkle-Toed Tollers could wear these http://www.softpaws.com/ :p Had a lovely walk round Riverside gardens today, we were virtually the only dogs there, it's becoming my fav place to take them I'll miss it when we move to cottesloe, I had a drive past the dog park near where we'll be moving to - big warning signs about dugites in the reserve backing on to the off-leash area
  14. Wow, awesome pic - clever spider
  15. Really lovely, the last flower shot in the first post is just beautiful

  17. Yup think its circling right above Mount Lawley Hasn't stopped all day, luckily the dogs look about as enthusiastic at going out in it as I do
  18. Unfortunately having a cat is no guarantee, we had a rat in our house when we had 4 dogs and 3 cats The way we got him was to put peanut butter and chocolate on the UNSPRUNG traps and let them take the food for a few times so they don't get scared away from the traps. Once the food is going regularly, then actually set the trap. I hated doing it as I used to have pet rats, but it wouldn't go near the 'humane' ones and we couldn't risk it chewing electrics etc. Good Luck
  19. Cheers J - he's ok, just had a small bite on his leg but he's a tough little feller - vet checked him today and gave him the all clear. How did you get on after we left? Did you repeat your success in the group winners class? Congratulations, he is gorgeous and great photos
  20. I did contemplate that....I'll try a stake out tomorrow or maybe join him!!?? have some cheese and crackers.....???
  21. I have recently noticed at around 5ish each afternoon a gentleman walking down the road with a lead in one hand, a glass of red wine in the other, poo bags sticking out of his back pockets, and a little black poodle trotting along a few feet behind him - obviously a very relaxing dog walk after a day in the office I would say :D
  22. It was great to go to the show yesterday and see the Xolos, even more stunning in real life, or 'unique looking' according to my OH :D It was lovely to meet you too J ;) I had intended to see some of the agility, but time flew by and I had to get off to see my great aunt whose JR had been attacked by another dog :D I did manage to see some Cresties on the way out though and got some crestie puppy cuddles I've never seen a crestie puppy before and OMG she was the most adorable little sweetie. She gave me kisses all over my face and made the cutest noises :D Did I mention how adorable she was
