  1. Wow Love the ears on them You have the 7D don't you? Every time I see a pic I really like the light quality of, it seems to be taken on a 7D **Sigh** one day I need to get some better lenses first than my kit ones, before I even think about upgrading my little 350D
  2. So annoyed with myself, I was supposed to be taking Louis on a group walk this morning, comprised of three of the reactive rover classes combined - walk started at 8am, I woke up just after 8am Not sure if I turned my alarm off in my sleep or not, but it's a PITA as it would have been such a good experience for Louis Bad Mum Hope Lincoln is doing ok this morning Vally
  3. oh crap - hope your little one pulls through, how horrible for you
  4. Lovely to see all the photos of dogs splashing around in the water lol It sounds like he'll be flooding the pool-side area Daisy was like that when we first put her in - swimming with front paws coming out of the water and splashing everywhere. Something clicked yesterday, and she realise it was more efficient to keep her legs IN the water when swimming ;)
  5. oh poor Lincoln, hope he's ok Thanks for the palm nut warning, she seems to have mastered the art of eating them, and then spitting out the seed on the odd one she sees before we do - but I won't be taking any chances and will pick them up before she goes out there.
  6. Unfortunately they only had pink in his size No they don't go in voluntarily, but the vest has a handle, so I lower them in over the side - I attach a long line as well so I have a hold on them, but the vest is very buoyant
  7. awww look at the cute squishy puppy Are you enjoying your photography course?
  8. Love the spider one I felt like that when I borrowed a very big expensive lens on the photo course the other day, so scared I'd drop it Luckily the tutor didn't seem at all concerned
  9. Come and say hello if you go on Monday. My class starts at 8pm, but I'm usually there before hand hanging around Oh poor Gizmo, and what a fright for you! How's he doing today? Daisy is making a bee-line for these at the moment as soon as she gets into the front yard, so I'm picking them up first. Are they toxic to them, or is it the blockage risk that is the worry with them?
  10. Since we moved to a place recently with a pool, I got a swim vest for the dogs and have been 'teaching' them to swim. They aren't naturals but are gaining confidence with each swim Louis makes me laugh, he looks like a little hedgehog as he swims - He just about moves his feet on his hind legs, and somehow thinks his tail will propel him through the water I'm hoping the more he does it, the more he will learn to use his back legs. Click image for video As they don't really get any off-lead runs now, I'm hoping this will be good additional exercise for them. They are only having a few minutes each at the moment, what would be a good amount to build up to for a few times a week How does your dog swim? Did its 'technique' improve with practice?
  11. I should be able to make it, but will leave the dogs behind as it will be too much for Louis still. I'll bring my camera though :D
  12. Thanks guys lol, yup when I logged onto it the other day it was a case of wtf! the first time, but got used to it now I have to admit to paying for photobucket, but $39 for two years is worth it to me to get rid of those annoying adverts Ok, so basically if I want to join somewhere like POTN, photobucket quality is acceptable - I won't be laughed out of town for not using Flickr or an alternative
  13. Hey np Glad to hear he is doing so well, and Chase is looking amazing, I can't believe it's the same dog - he's growing so fast He has a beautiful smoochy face
  14. I have always used Photobucket for hosting my pics, but was wondering what others use? Is Flickr more 'highly regarded' by photographers, are there other recommended sites ? Do any sites alter the photos at all during upload, e.g. compress them further etc. Your thought are appreciated
  15. Super shots They are just gorgeous What a lovely outcome ;)
  16. Snook, I love that magpie too, a beautiful eye Kirislin - that spider is beautiful, I love the light in the photo One from my photo course the other day at the zoo too Taken on a borrowed Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM (f5 for this shot) - man I soooo want that lens now
  17. I have an Op/Tech one on my 350D, and while it is on the smaller scale of DSLRs these days, I've always found it very comfortable. I've had it over 4 years and it shows no sign of wear eta - I'm pretty sure mine is this one http://optechusa.com/bin-op-strap-qd.html with these connectors http://optechusa.com/3-8-webbing-connectors-484.html
  18. I know full well the heartache of re-homing pets Huge hug to you VCBR
  19. lol, damn wish I had your luck then But seriously, you have some great photos of your pointy dogs
  20. Cool thread and some fab photos I love my Lumix for macro stuff, and for taking out when I have my hands full with the dogs. Some of my faves
  21. Looks like they had a good time She does look like the Ferrari mascot in that shot
  22. Kirislin - From seeing your photos, I would say you probably already had a pretty good grasp of most stuff that was covered in the course
  23. Is this any help Rach? :p http://www.doggyspace.com/journal/35441
