  1. Hi Guys Or can you do both? I've been doing a bit of research and had mixed responses, can you do both or should you really pick one out of the two? Thanks Riles
  2. I'd point this out to them when you are on the phone to them. Riles
  3. Both should be vaccinated and NOT be taken on any walks until all 3 vacs have been administered. Parvo will kill them. Vet immediately is the only correct answer to your question. Riles
  4. Leave the advice to the experts honey, just wanted to say ;) I'm sure you will work it out. Love Riles
  5. Aweee honeyyyyyy You know in your heart, when you stare into those big old brown eyes, he's telling you in his own way "Mummy, please make it stop, I'm tired and it's time". The greatest act of love of all is always the hardest and most heartbreaking when it comes to our fur kids. May God (or whoever the higher being is) give you the strength and the courage to hold those tears until your boy closes his eyes for the last time. He will be surrounded by love, kiss the top of his gorgeous head for all of us. You will be in my thoughts all day and my heart is aching for you Love Riles
  6. My head hurts Truly hope I am at some point capable at doing just the basics, totally amazing how much goes into it Your all AMAZING Vickie will be out with Rosie on weekend of 3 Sept. Riles
  7. I've only just started working on this with my Rosie at dinner time, same think the pointed finger and serious face and the word "stay". She actually managed it quiet well last night but I'd be really keen also to hear pointers on this. We start dog training at Macarthur in a week. Edited to add: this is with clicker training, I click and then she knows she can chow down on her dinner. Riles
  8. That was most definately my highlight for the day, just incomprehensible to this old chooks brain I tell ya I'll be definately out there when Sidoney takes her back in a few months :p My donka computer won't let me look at the pics but thanx so much for the link ;) If I move to where I think I will be in a years time, just may have to go and rent a vacant block and put some sheep on it so we can pratice all the time Riles
  9. So Collies will have a good go at it? I know they come from a herding background but there just doesn't seem that many out there doing it. Riles
  10. Hedds my gorgeous girl, SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO ITTTTTTT :p
  11. Absaaaaalutelyyyy.... wouldn't want to embarrass you :p That'll do! (funny first time I head that was on Babe, to hear today you guys saying it I was like OMG, it's real ;) ) Edited to add: "That'll do" = don't chase the sheep no more Thanx so much Vickie, I'm hooked Riles
  12. Xiaaaaa OMGGGG those pics just make me want to be out there again Zest was amazing, really hard headed at first but in the end started getting it and was doing really well, not bad for a suposed poundie ;) Oh and that funny coloured border collie is laying in front of the thing that she put the sheep over, JUST AMAZING Riles Edited to add: for someone that was so against working breeds as pets, I'm convereted, I'm now a firm believer that as long as you are working them in some way, be it agility, herding, etc, it can work :p I also realised that I need a dog that is smart The Goose on DOL needs a dog that thinks
  13. I know but I was embarrassed I normally can show a bit of decorum you know but that dog of yours :shakehead: Can totally understand why ;) Nope, I think there is a lot I have been missing out on which ceases today! She really did you proud Sidoney, give her a scratch and a cuddle from me Love Riles
  14. Trim just blew my mind, made the sheep go up onto a high platform and got them to jump off and before you could blink your eye she was at the other end to catch them, it's like WTFFFFF???????????? Are my eyes deceiving me ;) I cannot comprehend that with the right breeding they come outta the whelping box that way I have been totally stuck on finding something that just had me gooooo OMGGGG that is sooooooooo what I want to do and now thanx to Trim and Vickie, I found it Ahahahaha None of it made sense anyway, brain could not compute what the eyes were seeing, even ACCIDENTLY said the F word in front of children ONCE!!! Definately pulled myself up then Sorry Sidoney Riles
  15. I was sooooooooooooo hoping you would post about this!!!!!!! To say I am UTTERLY GOBSMACKED would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! Today was my first experience with herding, went for a look see to see if it would interest me with Rosie (she stayed home as last vac's are next week). I was LUCKY enough to meet Sidoney and the beautiful Xia, to see her when she first went in, running under the gate, avoiding the sheep at all cost and total focused on Sidoney, I was worried that she wasn't going to do it. Then...... all of a sudden some sort of SWITCH FLIPPED in Xia's head, I have NEVER in my life seen a SWITCH FLICK like this. She just all of a sudden started doing what she was born to do, she was graceful and beautiful and it was like reading the most beautiful poem or seeing the most gorgeous art. I'm sorry to rave on and on but you have to see it to believe it. Both Sidoney and I had tears in our eyes and hugged and we only met each other for the first time today!!! ;) Xia is an INCREDIBLE dog and SOOOOO many that were there were just like WOWWWWWW!!!!! Well done Sidoney and well done Xia Thanx for inviting me Vickie and let's not even get me started on what a beauty and amazing dog Trim is Love Riles
  16. Rosie gets cans of tuna and also whole sardines.
  17. The reason we so easily invest emotionally in our four legged family members is because they never mortally wound our hearts through out their entire life. People will destroy other people for their own selfish reasons, some take great pleasure in causing others pain and heartache. Our fur kids are loyal, always happy to see you and give insurmountable love. They seek only to please and bring joy never heartbreak or pain. You had 15 years of loyalty, happiness, love and joy so of course the pain you are suffering at the moment is inconsolable and unbearable. The only time our fur kids mortally wound our hearts is when they depart for the bridge and they break off a tiny bit of our heart and take it with them. I truly believe our hearts will never be whole again until that fateful day when we are reunited with them. God was incredibly cruel when he made their life span so much sorter than ours. You have to grieve honey and it could take a very long time. Love Riles
  18. Since welcoming a Collie into my heart I avoid this forum like the plague. There are no words to describe how they steal your heart, nor the paw print they place on it to stake it as there own for eternity. Please accept my deepest condolences. Rest In Peace dear sweet Maggie, soar high with your angel wings.
  19. RIP Abby Girl, keep that spot warm for when Mummy and you meet again one day in many, many years.
  20. I am so sorry to hear of your loss What a full, happy, loving and beautiful life this girl received when she was blessed with you as her family. Soar High Divine Miss Sophie Enjoy your lazy days baking in the bridges light until that fateful day when two become one again.
  21. So sorry VEHS :p Sometimes our bodies/brains make us numb to the feelings because we have like a little safety swtich inside because in essence we can't cope with the grief. It make come thru slowly over time. RIP Princess Nub Give those doggies up at the bridge hell
  22. Aweeeeeeeeeeeee Jodie, poor Ollie, please give him a big cuddle from Auntie Riles Wish I could do or say more. In my prayers for a speedy recovery once this is all over. Love Riles
  23. Sidoney you summed it up!!! I look at Rosie at only 13 weeks and think "Dear Godddddddddddd, what have I done" I hope that makes sense. Riles
