  1. Hi Staffordsyo Went to Natural Paws and I really liked it. But it's only the second I looked at so I'm no expert. I'm going on gut feel really. It's in a kennel area but I thought it was really quiet around - sort of rural, suburban area. Dogs already there seemed quiet, happy and relaxed. Started to bark when we looked around but that's to be expected, they were all friendly and waggy. My dog Moe, was terrier-like strutting up and down the wire winding them up - ha, ha! He thought it was most interesting and stimulating and didn't want to leave actually. Place was very clean. Nice grassy runs for exercise/socialising. It was a lovely sunny day so it looked really good. It's at the back of Davina's house so not too large an operation and Davina is very flexible. Davina herself I thought had a lovely calm manner and is very approachable, she spent lots of time with me, which I really appreciated. She breeds Besenjis and seemed to really know her dog stuff. I like the fact she asks for info on the dog on the booking sheet too. I'm not a homeopathic adherent but I liked her approach to feeding and cleaning/chemicals etc. Overall, I'm very happy to leave Moe there - he's booked! Hope that helps - go have a looksie and a chat, it's well worth it. Cheers Jo
  2. Hi Staffordsyo OK, will let you know what I think. Going on Monday. Cheers.
  3. Thank you so much Willow and Golden Rules - much appreciated. I've actually got an appt to go and see Natural Paws and will check out the Moore River one. Only took me 10 mins to book MY trip - but it's worth all the research to find the right place for Moe's holiday! Jo
  4. thanks Ann - thats really helpful -will check it out. :D
  5. Hi Anyone got any recommendations for kennels in Perth please? - I'm NOR but prepared to travel - It's for a 10 day stay for Moe, a foster dog we're adopting. Moe's a smashing 2yo Cairn Terrier X and he'll have been with us 3 months by the time we travel. - I'm feeling terribly guilty about leaving him whilst we go away but it has to be done. - I am researching, found a few older posts on here, am going out looking etc, etc. Looking at Danzalin, Julies, The Paw House, Natural Paws, Hey You Pet Resort. Any info would be really helpful.
  6. Hi All (also posted this in the Intros thread) I'm a WA first time fosterer of Moe (avatar), the Cairn Terrier X via Best Friends Animal Rescue. I'm not very experienced so will always be looking for advice! My team includes my 12 yo son and my partner. Moe's 3yo and apparently was a pup shop buy for a 13 yo girl. Once the cuteness factor wore off he spent the next two years ignored in a back yard. So, he's not trained, can be mouthy, wants to top dog and is very poorly socialised with others dogs. He didn't even know how to play...how sad is that. BUT he's a great dog, is coming along really well considering we've only had him a week. Anyway, the socialisation thing is the biggest worry...we've had one bad introduction with best friend's dogs which was probably my fault, had him too tightly restrained on the lead and he got really aggressive. Since then about 4 slow and gentle introductions with other dogs in park. Sitting by them, chatting with owners and then letting him go to them on a loose extender lead. Kept it short and was fine. So, if anyone is around north west suburbs of Perth I could join for a walk to help Moe's socialisation I'd be grateful (I don't mind travelling). It's probably more about my confidence to be honest! Thanks. Jo (Team MoeJo )
