Congratulations.Congrats to everyone else on litters and safe arrivals. We are on the countdown here now. Nikki is due 17th to the 20th and yesterday at the vet Suki weighed in at 41.7 kgs not bad considering she was 28kg when mated and she has been off her food for the last week.

All our girls have relaxin test at 21 days. Our vet tell us after this amount of time it can be not so accurate. 2 frozen AIs and both ultrsounded at 4 weeks both pregnant. One has since whelped and the other girl is due around the 20th of December

thanks, they are sooo beautiful :D when is she due? good luck!! She is due from Thursday onwards depending on what day she took :D Going to stock up on newspaper today and move Kimba and her puppies to the other whelping area. Have a large crate ready for her and then Cynda can have the whelping box to give her more room to whelp (Ihope) ;) Good luck and best wishes.

no nothing.....I stayed awake all night, sure things would happen, she was very restless but nu! Hopefully have puppies by tea time Good luck to you and to all the others waiting today.

We would like to announce that we have another girl confirmed in whelp. We mated her as I did not thing Nikki would get pregnant and yesterday our girl *Lashadas Miss Chievous AZ BSCL.1 Very Good Merit/Excellent has been confirmed in whelp to *Amarada Final Analysis AZ HIC BSCL.1 Excellent. First scan showed a lot vet thought perhaps as many as 13 Yesterday 2nd scan and according the the vet 'oh my there are lots and lots in there'. This will be her first litter.Please keep me in your thoughts I am going to need it as we have never had two litters this close let alone 3 in one year. The most for us has been 1 every two years Serves you right. :) ;) ;) ;) :) What date. Nikki is due the 20th from a surgical AI and Suki is due the 24th. Its going to a very puppy christmas here Good luck. Do you think she is already??

According our fertility specialist anything below 50 puts a litter at risk. We had our girl scanned and pregnancy confirmed at 4 weeks after mating and a progesterone test done then. Her levels were 52 so she was started on weekly progesterone injections. Having lost two previous litters from this girl we were happy to follow the specialists advice and the result was a happy healthy litter

Have done Surgical and TCIs on three maiden bitches now and apart from the cost factor of the surgical ones all worked out well for us with a fertility specialist, our everyday vet (who had not done one before) and one at the vet at Monash. Travel is a factor us for natural matings and the airlines out of Northern Tassie are hard to get on sometimes as we only have Virgin at Launceston. Even travelling for vets who specialise here can mean a 2.5 hour drive. For us some lovely puppies was the bonus and in the end thats all the matters

I will be going to the fertility vet next week and I will ask her Fifi.Interesting as well I was talking to a breeder and she tells me they cannot get a girl pregnant. Her levels were off the scale at 5 days into her cycle and dogs will not go near her. I did ask Fifi. SHe tells me there are many reasons for bitches to go off there food and sometimes the two (lowering progesterone) go hand in hand.With our girl that absorbed she went off her food but also had a very bad case of the runs and was very lethargic

I asked at our vet about the association between bitches absorbing and Pyo. She did say there is no direct association between the two but she did tell me that in the last 3 years she had only seen two bitches that had absorbed that presented with pyo. I did tell her why I was asking

Our vet uses state of the art technology but she did me that if it takes a while to get results back on prog tests it is best to ultrasound at 28 days and prog test then if there are any concerns you then have time to get the results back.Interesting to note about the Pyo. When I take the other girl in on Tuesday I will ask her what the incidence of the two toegther is. She deals with greyhound breeders on a daily basis so sees a mulitude of problems on a regular basis
