The Best Thing I Heard At The Royal Was...
Firestone replied to Elfin's topic in General Dog Discussion
At our Launceston Royal the public were soooooooooooo funny. The Curly Coat was a Labradoodle and they were all blown away by the fact you can now actually show them The best one at the Royal in 2009 was this little gem: Gundogs in the ring. Peoples day and its packed. I am there standing watching when Mr J Public stops and looks with a huge group of mates and girlfriends. Weimaraners in the ring. Mr Public proceeeds to open his mouth with several swear words and tells his mates his parents used to breed these and they are GREYHOUNDS CROSSED WITH GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTERS. With all his knowledge he then went on to explain that they use the GREYhounds to get that lovely GREY colour and the use the pointers so they hunt better and they dock the tails so they do not look like greyhounds. I was gobsmacked and I turned around to Mr So-much-knowledge and asked if he was for real and he then proceeds to tell me that yes he was right as his parent and bred and SHOWN them for 20 years. -
I am like you Aziah and its great to see your dog in there. But for you at the mo on top. :D Only reason I know is because I am following the whities. Thats what Jess and Jacquie do. They enter the pointscore just for us and anything else is a bonus.

Yes we are bit like you not sure where or how to start but, there was a person on the Oz Show Email Group who is willing to take names and collate all the information on a state by state basis so we can all get together and formulate a plan.

Harder to now for the smaller states in the rising star category as the shows that have over 750 exhibits get double points. With regard the other categories its interesting to note that some TRY to claim points that they were not entitled to.

The grounds have showers and great atmosphere. Dog friendly caravan parks... the closest one would be Longford, lovely surrounds and right beside the river.

Congratulations

Congrats. I saw her son a few weeks ago and her lastest baby girl was entered in the show last weekend. All the best with her -
Good luck and hope all goes well. There was another Shepherd litter born yesterday in Vic as well and they also chose the hottest day to come into the world. 11 of them at last count

They are gorgeous

They used to give you the Hydatid Tablet on entry if your had not done the dog or if you were unsure of the worming status of the dog arriving here. Its not new its always been there they are not giving out the tablets now they have put the onus on owners and those bringing them into Tassie to make sure they are done.

I would look at it as a common courtesy to let the breeder know the puppy has settled in and how much you love him. Photo and emails from our puppy buyers is a regular thing. THey are so proud of their puppies they just want us to know how they are going. It does not take much to send a pic and a quick note to let them know how the puppy is doing. All best with your new addition
