Thanks so much I am learning heaps. With the camera I got today I got the Sandick 4gb Extreme SDHC Card up to 30 MB/s* + 200x

Today I got my first SLR and I am loving it. I know nothing as started asking here. I got mine today at Harvey Norman a Canon 450D SLR with a twin lens kit and extended 2 year warranty. I have saved for a while for this but so far I am loving it. It was on sale and great value on comparison to other stores. Sorry forgot to add I got the camera, twins lens kit, extended warranty, memorycard, lens filter, LCD screen protectors for $1550.00

Oh wow I just got home and this is the best news CONGRATULATIONS. Wonderful results withh look at the blog tomorrow.

Thanks so much. Learning heaps here. How many will I need? I think I would prefer to download via a card reader and we have several different sized cameras here so would a multi reader be ok??

Thanks kja. I will be learning to use the camera as I go but I do want to be able to take movement shots later. Showjumpers. race horses and dogs on the move so would I need a fast version?Harvey Norman have a package to go with the camera/lens and it includes a lens filter and a Sandisc Extreme memory card 4G.

I was wondering what is the best memory card to purchase when I get my camera? Whats the difference between a memory card and a C F Card ? I am getting the Canon 450D

That's where I got mine from but I went in to the store in Adelaide instead of purchasing online. I didn't even think to mention that you could buy from them online. Sorry. Thats ok JS. We have nothing like that here in the north of Tassie. I am going to ask a friend to see if there is a huge camera stockist in Hobart and I might see if I can get hubby to take me. I am just loving looking at accessories, I want a bit of bling on bag so might have to get something embroidered on it.

I got it from a camera shop in Adelaide so maybe check around with camera shops near you. I found that Harvey Norman and other places like it had very little to choose from. No it isnt as pink as it looks but I love this colour better it matches some of the shoes I have :-) I can tell you I just got caught looking at the websites listed here and ebay and hubby did not look amused. His comment to my son, well new camera so I suppose it will be time for an 'accessory-fest', I hate to think what will be delivered in the mail in the coming weeks.I have been good I promise

I can hardly wait to get my camera next week. I will probably go with the back pak type bag that was posted earlier in the thread as I want the camera, accessories and my personal stuff all together especially at shows and places like that. With the back pack I can hang inside the trolley as well so thats a bonus
