  1. We did have him in a harness, but same thing a friend looked after him with no issues, so eliminated the harness... No success My car is manual
  2. Our cattle dog x gets horribly car sick... Just after some suggestions we can try to help him So far we have tried ginger tablets, several homeopathic remedies, DAP spray, crating, long and short tethers, leaving him loose in the back, fasting, and we also took him to a vet Chiro who found an atlas/TMJ problem, unfortunately none of these have worked It could be anxiety related but we have trouble even getting him in the car for treats.... I'm at a loss, sometimes he is sick within 10 minutes, other times it's an hour or so We think he is about 14 months or so, he is a rescue Sorry if this makes no sense, I'm on my iPhone at the moment
  3. I have a JRT, a golden and a cattle dog, I get comments everytime they go out together lol
  4. Always a risk, and the larger the door the greater the risk. My dad used to be a locksmith and you would be surprised by the number of break ins that occur through doggy doors. Me personally? I'd never get one larger than a JRT sized one simply because of this issue, if the door is not secure you won't be covered by insurance...A medium/large doggy door will mean it is unsecure simply because someone can fit through it The insurance did pay up twice, even though the second police report said that this is how they gained access. The first set of numpty police insisted that I must have left a door unlocked, which I hadn't. They also insisted that they were druggies and wouldn't come back, but they returned that night but couldn't get in. They returned again 2 days later and stole my laptop which was in my bedroom during the first robbery, which is where the dogs would have run to. The second police officer told me that it was common and some professional thieves look for houses with dogs because they're likely to have dog doors. My dogs put on one hell of a show if someone pitches up when I'm home. Alone, with no back up, most dogs run and hide, and maybe growl a bit. Lucky you! about the insurance I mean, I guess it depends on your insurance company and the police report

  6. My 14kg ACDx gets two cups a day and I'm about to look into other options because I think he is too thin
  7. You could try big dog's raw, from what I've heard this is the original Dr Bs raw, they patented the recipe and billinghursts had to change
  8. He has a really fluffy tail too, it looks quite funny on him  but thats alright, he gives up to his nickname of Wacko Jacko lol
  9. Thanks guys, I always thought he looked older than they claimed, I guess I was right when I said the date they gave us as his birth date was actually the date the previous owners got him, and guessing he was 8-12 weeks of age when they got him He is quite tall, he stands at about 50cm, I'll have to look up stumpy's, I figured they looked like an ACD without a tail! lol, I can see Kelpie or Koolie in his ears, and after seeing him work with sheep the guy who was coaching us said he works like a Kelpie, not an ACD
  10. Oh, not sure if it is of any help, but I do know he only had one descended testicle, although it can't have been too much trouble for them to find it because he only had the one normal incision through his scrotum
  11. Sorry I wasn't clear, they only had him for 3 days from his surrender to his adoption We did wonder if the 'birth date' we were given was actually the day his previous owner got him, so if he was 8 weeks old that would have made him 7 months when we got him He hasn't lost any teeth that I remember, I'm sure he had all (or most) of his adult teeth when we got him
  12. They only had him for a few days, he still had his stitches in from his desexing when we got him
  13. Nope, only head shots...mostly while sleeping  This is the one that the RSPCA had on his profile (Dec 2011) Last week I have got a video of him that a friend put on my fb...but I have no idea how to post it on here
  14. Nope didn't check his teeth, I don't have many pics of him at all, let me check what I've got
  15. He is very fine, weighs about 14.5kg, its hard to get photos of him because he never stops moving lol
  16. Is there any way of finding out how old he is? according to the RSPCA he shouldn't be 1 until July
  17. In december we rescued an ACD cross (Kelpie or Koolie) when we adopted him we were told he was 5 months old. We've noticed in the last 6 months that he hasn't grown a bit since we got him, he weight has been stable apart from a bit of weight loss when we brought him home, he hasn't gotten any taller either, when we got him he could just fit under Lexi's belly, and he is still the same height now We've started thinking that maybe he was older than they thought he was when we got him, does it seem right that a dog of this size should finish growing at 5 months old?
  18. Poor thing, is this Rosie or Ella? I miss hearing updates on your girls!
  19. I can't select any of the options. My dogs don't have access to food all day, they don't fuss to get food, affection is not demonstrated through treats, and they don't get table scraps. They get food as a routine and have to sit politely for it. Done :) I got stuck on this too as my dog also gets food for routine and sits politely for it. So I had to choose one at random I got stuck on this question too, I selected the good dog, but none of them suited
  20. Yes you still need to get them an annual KC vaccine
  21. Assuming the dogs are registered with the council....an anonymous call can be made about a pied whippet called Misty who is severely underweight and ill, we do know they live in Mildura If MTS is unwilling to help this dog....someone has to
  22. Good good, I'll pm for her address and post her out some goodies for the puppas... If I'm right I believe these pups have already received a gift off me once before, I'm happy to help this person out :)
  23. Oh yes that a great idea, direct deliveries will be convenient for all... And who doesn't like receiving presents in the mail!
