Have you got her crate training? maybe just put her in her crate or a bathroom with her food and let her go it alone until she settles in a bit

Puppy With Blood In His Wee
GoldenGirl85 replied to nicolatu's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
In humans blood in the urine can indicate kidney issues, I imagine dogs would be the same, get him straight to the vets -
Next Door Neighbours Kids Throwing Knives

I agree with all the above posters, it sounds like she is going to cause a lot of trouble for you. Start documenting absolutely everything that happens, even little comments like her telling you that you need a permit for 2 dogs, even if you know you are right and she is wrong, document it, anything that comes over the fence dont give it back, keep it, if there are more knives contact the police immediately -
Perhaps the bowl is scary to her, you could try putting the food on a plate or something flat for now

Do Humans Really Have A Brain?
GoldenGirl85 replied to lovemymutts's topic in General Dog Discussion
The mother could be quite young, perhaps they were waiting for her to grow some more before getting her desexed, but a dog got to her first -
Really? I cant find that...

Do Humans Really Have A Brain?

At least they havnt called them Gerpies or something ridiculous and put a $1000 price tag on them, perhaps dealing with just the one litter will be enough incentive to get their dog desexed -
Grooming Advice Required
GoldenGirl85 replied to muffinmclay's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hey groomer people, can you recommend a good brand of nail clipper? I really hate those cheap ones that just sort of crush the nail and splinter it. The vet is the only person who has clipped my pups nails, but Ill have to do them soon and I want a nice sharp pair that will just get the job done. Also where would I be likely to buy them? -
The latest ones at BigW are horrible to make up Ive had 3 from BigW, the first had a plain black cover, bought it YEARS ago it was easy to make up and its still going strong, the second has a green cover, still going. But the third one I bought about 5 months ago, it has a black cover with little white dots, I couldnt get the ruddy thing on...that one went back
-
Ok thanks for the info guys, Ill look into some different covers, but it sounds like Id be best off with a high excess and 100% cover, Id most likely only need it for big stuff (ticks, cane toads, or hopefully not but I guess there is always a chance of joint damage on a big dog)

Does anyone have any experience with the HCF/Manchester Unity insurance? I think theirs might cover getting xrays done

Try just bicarb powder and brush it out -
lol, the large ones are for my JRT...that way she cant get her mouth around them lmao :D
-
Thanks for that! I might change my order to 4 medium and 2 large Might also be a good idea to let clean run know there will be another big order coming, at least that way they will be prepared for the order when it arrives EDIT to remove pic

Good point there, I think a reputable agility club would tell the owner if their pup wasnt ready
-
If you are definitely going to do agility with the pup keep in mind that they cant start training until 11 or 12 months, but my club offers classes for younger dogs, like puppy preschool, obedience and motivation and control (lots of off lead control), I know these classes are the same as a lot of obedience clubs, but because my club is strictly agility they introduce exercises that help the dog with the beginnings of agility that dont actually cause any harm to their joints, such as walking across a ladder to teach them about foot placement and body awareness
-
Another option is for you to get into an agility club now, Im sure there would be a lab or two, see where they got their pups from Ive just started agility with my JRT, I love it, so far we are just doing really basic stuff but its still fun, I cant wait for my GR to be old enough to train
-
Thanks Ish Can anyone get a pic of the medium next to a tennis ball?
-
Ness how long did it take them to come in last time? I think doing a state by state order is probably best that way the people out bush can get theirs posted, and anyone in the city can catch up at a DOL meet and get theirs then! Ill get 1 large and 2 medium
-
How big are the balls? are they easily destroyed? my JRT gets...umm, upset by anything that squeaks, but I think my GR pup would like them
-
Im changing my dogs off Supercoat just as soon as the bags are empty. Their skin and coat is a lot drier since starting on supercoat, the puppy often has an upset tummy but that could just be a sensitive puppy thing Ive decided to put my GR pup on Royal Canin, and I think Ill put my JRT on a science diet, not sure if Ill do small dog senior or sensitive ...anyone have any suggestions for an itchy dog?
-
Im looking at getting insurance for my GR, just have a few questions though I want to get her desexed, have her front dews removed, and get her hips and elbows xrayed (just for my own peace of mind, her parents had their scores done but Im a worry wart) Id get it all done at once so she is only under one anesthetic, would all these procedures be covered? and would they be one claim because they were all done at the same time?
-
Oh no! Im glad Lexi isnt barking like that I dont really have any suggestions other than trying a citronella collar...
