  1. I stopped my GR from jumping up by either turning my back on her when she did, or pushing out my knee when she jumped up in front of me which would just nudge her back to the ground without giving her attention (by the means of pushing her down with my hands) As for chewing obviously what the others mentioned about redirecting his attention to a toy or something he can have is the best option, but apparently rubbing eucalyptus oil on his favourite chew furniture will discourage it, thankfully Ive never had to try this one out
  2. Id love to have gone but with starting a new job, and Tess has only just started competing I thought it might be a bit much, besides she isnt a real good traveller lol
  3. I do have one girl that humps, but nothing gets stuck anywhere lol
  4. Mini Aussie Bulldog...seriously? What makes an Aussie Bulldog anyway? is it a breed like a Koolie and just not recognised yet or is it a breed like an Oodle and someone had an oops litter?
  5. I agree that an older yellow Lab would be the better option, a puppy will take hours of training and having young children you may not be able to commit the time the pup needs to become the perfect family pet, Labs arent born that way it takes a lot of training, an adult lab would still need ongoing training, but the basics are there and you just need to reinforce its prior training
  6. They are filled with water soaker crystals, the stuff you add to pot plants to retain water. The fabric is a ripstop nylon outer and I think a polycotton inner. I made the mats with a plain colour, then made a removable patterned cover so they'd be easy to clean. I soaked the inner mat, then placed it in the dry outer cover. So the outer cover is made with the ripstop? I might have a go at making one, can you get ripstop at spotlight or lincraft? and the crystals are at bunnings right? lol, such a noob at this, I might even have a go at making collars if I get really creative, the jackets however will be coming from clean run I think
  7. Has anyone used the clean run ones? are they good?
  8. What did you use to fill them? and what sort of fabric did you use?
  9. Im after some cooling coats for my dogs, but there seems to be too much out there! Ive noticed that most people in the agility ring have Cool Champions ones, but they seem quite expensive. Can anyone recommend another brand which is just as good? I was also thinking about getting a cooling Mat for Lexi, seeing as she sits in a crate for most of the day at competitions it might be the better option for her rather than a coat
  10. No reason why you couldnt do puppy agility, but I wouldnt be letting a 9mo GSP do any sort of jumping or weaving, my GR wont be starting that until she is at least 18 months old, you can start him doing contact work and the really basic stuff
  11. Some people in my agility club take their dogs herding, Im not sure, but it could be this place http://sheepherdingqueensland.com/ Woodford is up past Caboolture
  12. Thats because your dog is invited! lol
  13. I wish more people would see this link Find the Pitbull I got it wrong
  14. Yellow Unfortunately too many people think that Goldies are just long haired Labs My mum's friend gets really insulted if anyone call her GR a Labrador. I dont get insulted by it, I just tell them that she is actually a Golden Retriever and they are different breeds Its a bit like the CKCS and KCS, they look very similar, and they are very similar breeds, but are entirely different

  16. Id just like to know how many people thought the lamb was in love with him when he left, Id bet my bottom dollar he had a bottle of milk to make him follow him to the car
  17. If I remember correctly he took a young family to PP to get their puppy
  18. Lol, he would have been frightened from the dogs, if you found one that the dogs hadnt scared half to death they probably wouldnt be so angry
  19. Maybe we should have researched dogs before we decided to buy a possibly deadly puppy for our kids
  20. They will usually 'hiss' at you, but if you pick him up from behind the neck he cant get you, make sure you support his body as you lift him though
  21. Umm, trying to remember how to operate windows here, but you go to control panel -> internet options, click along the tabs until you find what you are looking for, there should just be a button to delete cookies and another one to delete temp internet files
  22. Also try clearing your cookies and temp internet files, that fixes it for me
