Ill go against the flow, I put my dog on adult formula at 12 months, regardless of how much I fed her she kept losing weight, put her back on a mix of the two and she is maintaining weight again
-
At least you can get on the website lol, for some reason it wont work on my computer My local sold out, but thankfully were taking down names for another order expected wednesday...it must have come today because mine is waiting for pickup!
-
I couldn't have said it better...in fact I've tried lol, glad to see someone agreeing with me MTS you need to remember that dogs aren't people, its great that you're trying to make all 3 of you healthier, but don't make the dogs lose weight too quickly, and remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if the dogs are building up muscle tone as their losing weight, the numbers on the scales aren't going to mean much What you need to do is feel the dogs, can you feel their ribs easily? if not, then yes they still have weight to lose, but once you can easily feel them, then they're nearly there

You contact your local distributer, sherel would only pass your details onto them anyway

See the website, all the contacts are on there, the sample size is very generous too http://www.kylainknls.com/food.htm

Brisbane Rspca Million Paws Walk
GoldenGirl85 replied to Keira&Phoenix's topic in General Dog Discussion
I did They said that they have never seen numbers of that size before, and that they thought there was plenty of room, to which I replied "I hope you didn't make a lot of sales, because people were so fed up with being squashed in like sardines they didn't buy anything" They justified the agility by saying that they had their own trainers there who were overseeing the whole thing, and that the crowd loves agility blah blah, I said that of course the crowd would love agility, and I'm not saying the equipment shouldn't be there, but it most DEFINITELY shouldn't be set at its full height, I also said that it was obvious that they were just in it for the money, and didn't have the dogs interests at heart Last reply I got was "have a good day" I'm never going again, I dislike the RSPCA for so many reasons, and they just keep adding reasons onto my list -
Shelley is 3 years old,Hr hearing is prefect she can hear food drop a mile away. Sounds like you need to do NILIF. She needs to work for every piece of food she is given, she will soon start paying attention to you when you want her Eta add link

Thankfully Lexi's stubborn stage didn't last that long lol, is there any future stages I should be aware of? my dog is being too perfect atm
-
I doubt its the food...have you thought to get her hearing checked?

I have given my girl ACP a couple of times for long journeys, but after reading the side effects Ill never give it again, it did relax her body, but her mind was still very active, and it takes quite a while to wear off

You'd expect the manufacturer to say that! My vet said you can split them, which makes sense when you consider the weight range of the dog specified on the box in relation to each size of tablet/chew. For example, Interceptor blue can be given to 22KG dogs and 45KG dogs. So the manufacturer is saying it's OK to give dogs the same dosage even if one is twice the weight of the other. Clearly precision in dosage/weight ratio is not extremely important when it comes to worming. Thats an interesting point...I have a 24kg dog, and a 5kg dog, does this mean I could hack a corner off an interceptor blue and do both dogs?

Oh LM im sorry! I didn't realise you put your name down, Im so used to being the only Northsider, whenever I can't make it we change it to southside because all the other girls live down that side! Next meeting 3rd July will be Northside to make up, can you make that one?

Consider getting her a back pack, you don't need to put very much weight in it at all, but it helps to tire them on a shorter walk, and helps to build up muscle tone and fitness. Ive been following K9-Pro's journey with Busta the Golden Retriever (Goldie that bit his owners) and he was putting just 300g in each side at first

Don't jump Shelley too high unless she has been taught to jump properly, you might do damage to her joints otherwise. I wouldn't jump her ANY higher than 40cm if she has had no training Don't give her any more than the 1 1/4 cup of food, let her drop a bit of weight, and if need be you can up it by a little bit. Lexi gets about 1 1/2 - 2 cups a day, but she is still filling out and is still a pup, I can easily feel her ribs although she is losing her waist, so I might have to lower her a bit
-
I think my housemate would kick me out if I did that! lol Ive got a kong shaped brush...its great!!
-
Another thing to keep in mind is the size of the kibble, because its so tiny, there is going to be less 'gaps' in the cup measure then there would be for a cup of a larger kibble
-
I'm actually really disappointed I still have LOADS of RC left...gotta get through all that before I buy BH, but I'm impressed, I think Ill just keep adding a handful to their dinner and let them enjoy the treat until I run out of the RC. Ill be glad to have one food for the two dogs...atm I have 3! Do any of you guys have dogs that are hard to keep weight on? how do they go on 100% BH? My Golden is a lean machine, and last time I tried to put her on a full adult formula she lost a load of weight regardless of how much I fed her
-
Has anyone noticed their dogs have a LOT more energy on BH? mine are only getting a handful with each meal atm, but even my Golden, who has always been fairly lazy is full of beans ever since I got the BH...Im impressed lol, she seems more 'switched on' too, but that could be because she is finding her brain lol
-
Guys can one of you text me when you decide on a place time and Ill update the original thead, Im not on DOL much atm because Im trying to study
-
Hey guys, I'm going to have to cancel on this one, so unless everyone is happy to make it the following week, I'm happy if you want to change it to a southside meet. I'm working until 12, and i have an exam the next day, so I cant really waste any free time at this point Anyway...let me know!
-
I got my sample pack today, so far the girls love it! I got a bit of Lexi's current kibble in one hand, and a bit of BH in the other to see which she liked the smell of best...BH wond by a mile lol
-
Some good advice offered above, but I would also suggest crate training him, this will help to teach him to hold on as they won't usually mess in their crate
-
Yay! my BH sample will be hitting the post tomorrow...took a while because I contacted the wrong distributor, she forwarded my email onto the correct person but she responded to the wrong person! Cant wait to give it a go!

Looking For Mello (willow) - Now Found !
GoldenGirl85 replied to sheree_e4's topic in General Dog Discussion
That is such a sad story...I hope you find her -
My dog is still a pup, she was about 16 months old in those photos, I find that she self exercises fairly well, I don't tend to walk mine in the rain because they don't care either way, but when we had daily rain for about 2 months through dec/jan I rugged up in wet weather gear to walk them, they wore raincoats too so they didn't get too wet...poor pups were going stir crazy in the wet. I don't walk mine daily atm because I'm fairly busy with uni, but they get plenty of game time with fetch and tug when I get home from work, and they both go to training at least once a week. When they do go for walks Lexi wears a backpack with a small amount of weight in it, that burns a bit more energy for a shorter walk, it also helps to build up muscle tone...if you're going to do that though make sure you don't fill the bag, Steve from K9 Pro suggests just 300g in each side is plenty to do the job
