Turn Up The Sound And See If Your Dogs Join In
GoldenGirl85 replied to Boronia's topic in General Dog Discussion
Head tilting here...was very cute lol, but my bf didn't like me playing the video a second time lol -
Ive been to Gary once...and regret it...PM me if you would like more info, but definitely go for a registered chiro Its not just my experience either, I know of a horrific story of a dog that was PTS...her problem should have been picked up by a chiro, but it wasn't until it was too late ETA, this dogs problem was never picked up by the chiro, I just thought I should point that out

I think everyone needs to give Talien a bit of a break, this isn't her dog, she has tried to do the right thing, but she has her own life to lead, and its not her responsibility to do anything more for this girl and her dog, so what if she is moving out before the pups would be due...the dog isn't hers, circumstances change...but I'm sure when she gets her pup, he will be getting the snip lol

They come from places like Gumtree...or facebook, like an ad I saw today "FTGH female pure breed GSD" "how old?" "2 years old and desexed" "sorry, not interested" I have a feeling that after the "how old" comment there was also one saying "is she desexed?" I felt like saying "not interested because she is no longer a walking uterus right?"

Today at work someone was saying about how her friend had to rehome her maltese/shih tzu because there was a risk she might bite the new baby...apparently she has been snappy towards the older toddler...they seem to have her best interests at heart. One of the other girls says "Oh my mum might be interested in her, its good because she is the same breed as her boy...and then they can mate" other girl cuts off the e of mate and says "Oh I think she is desexed" other girl "oh thats a shame, because sugar pea isn't" Thank christ for that lol Well...at least she realised at the end...

For The Ladies...if You Own A Big Dog...

No... But then my big dog is a golden retreiver lol... My bf walks the JRT -
Thanks for the replies. I dont think my girl is overweight now but i do think what i feed her needs to be better. Its probably more of convience at the moment than anything. At The supercoat bag i buy is $30, so its more than twice the price. I've been in to pet stock and was shocked at how much the big bags were! But i would rather buy her something that is better for her and that she eats! I dont think she likes the supercoat that much so i wouldn't be surprised if i wasted most of it. There is a place that will deliver pet food so i am going to try that. They have all types of bones. Thanks for the tip about the butcher. I will see if any ones around here have that! That is excellent. I can pay that for not even 1kg! Do you cook the mince or does she eat is raw? Supercoat isn't considered to be a good quality food, you might find if you change her to a superpremium like Black Hawk then you need to feed less, so yes its more expensive to look at, but if you feed less it works out better. Feed her the mince raw, but make sure you get pet mince or minced chicken frames, they have bone which is good for her Have you got some pics of your girl?

Yes, we used to have a mini foxie X chi when we were kids....well, one day my little brother decided to see if she could fly off the trampoline, her leg snapped, thankfully my dad took her straight to the vet and had it fixed...needless to say, the dog was banned from going anywhere near the trampoline after that. I can only imagine that wouldn't have happened if we had a slightly bigger dog, that wasn't so easy to pick up...old Missy lived to the ripe old age of 15 too lol, hardy little thing she was

If she is willing to travel a bit, Jane Harper from www.dogsontrack.com.au is excellent, she is from the sunshine coast and frequently comes to Brisbane, although I don't know if she goes as far as ispwich

Dog Model And Bathroom Needed Please!

When you say very little? by what do you mean? I'm interested, and comfortable in my own skin, but I'd like a little more info if thats alright, I also have both my girls (the dogs lol) available to use -
Its so good to see that you're really wanting to do the right thing by everyone, so many times we get people start threads on here and then get all shitty and leave when they get advice they don't want to hear, good for you Personally I think a CKCS would be a bit too 'sensitive' for an active child with autism, and you would be far fetched looking for a breeder that would consider that placement. Looking for a breed to 'calm' the child...perhaps a Grey? but those who know the breed a bit better might be able to advise further (just thinking of the existing pets here)
-
Excellent points I respect that you love Tenties and Mini Foxies, they're gorgeous dogs, but just because they might not be the 'right' breed now, it doesn't mean you can't get one in the future
-
Agree - the smell of the rats alone would get mine worked up Lol, mine gets worked up by looking at bugs around the lights...even if they're not moving, I'd hate to see her around pet ratties

Emergency! Dog In Respiratory Distress!
GoldenGirl85 replied to Danielle's topic in General Dog Discussion
Glad to hear she is ok...did you get my text? lol -
MC, I can see that you want to do the very best for your family and pets, and thats great, you can learn a lot from this forum...but...if you have rats, please reconsider getting a ratting breed, I have a JRT, and I can guarantee that she would obsess over the area the ratties are kept, even if they are in a cage, these are very intelligent breeds and have a very keen hunting instinct, I'd just hate to see the worst happen. I love rats, they make an awesome pet..but while ever I have a ratting breed, I will never own a rat, its not worth stressing both animals (and myself) just trying to make it work, I could only imagine adding an autistic child into the mix Someone earlier suggested a Stafford, I think thats a very good breed for you to consider, they're hardy and will cope well with your sons energy, but at the same time they're so gentle and forgiving. There is a lot of Stafford breeders out there, but if you ask around on here you will get a lot of recommendations for suitable breeders to contact
-
My jrt would too, I would also say get an older dog, a puppy might not grow up to bond with your son like you hope

Interesting Conversation At Work Today.
GoldenGirl85 replied to Gayle.'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep, definitely try and bring up the new laws in Vic, explain that any non ANKC registered dogs are at risk of being seized...although make sure you mention ANKC, because otherwise the 'breeder' will try and convince them that they are registered...*cough with the council cough* -
There is no magic amount she should be getting fed. At the moment my girl is on 4 cups a day of Royal Canin, so I'm about to change her over to Black Hawk to help the hip pocket a bit...I know 4 cups a day seems like a lot, but she is struggling to maintain a healthy weight of 25kg if she doesn't have that much...hopefully this new food will change that

Yeah I was thinking of people like yours when I posted...unfortunately the samples go pretty quick, I'm not sure how much you know about MooGoo, but they make skincare products and are totally chemical free, if you're interested it might be worth following their facebook page because thats where they post all their updates and new products available
