GoldenGirl85 replied to LOLAFOLATA's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yeah, my dad always jokes that I want a horse so badly my dogs have learned to graze...I've never been worried by it -
It only goes around their chest so he will be fine

My 5kg JRT gets half a cup of BH a day, if she gets bones she doesn't get any kibble, she is also middle aged (10 years) and fairly active

So is the chicken and rice only going to be a 'light' variety? I need a regular one for my race horses lol Is it a new 'light' formula or is the normal food now going to be lighter? :) thanks

Heartstopping Occurrence.....strange Child In My Yard

HA I know that, but average joe doesn't.... To him every bull breed is a pit bull remember, to him greys are those dogs that have to be muzzled -
Heartstopping Occurrence.....strange Child In My Yard

Yes, it wouldn't have been the parents of the child who were at fault . It is his right as a child to go into other's yards and steal. I totally agree! However in the eyes of the law and the anti-dog doogooders if a dog attacked a child in this situation you can get your bottom dollar it would be the dog and the owner who are at fault with the dog being PTS Nope. Read the law. A dog that attacks in its own backyard is not generally held to be at fault. Under normal circumstances I'd agree...however given that one of the dogs is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier....the media would have a field day, the anti-dog lobby would join in and the end result would be the same. That was my thought... And with the other being a grey hound... I know their image is slowly improving, but there is still the non believers out there -

Wow. It's a good thing your dogs are happy to see strangers in their yard... Imagine how it would work out for you if they weren't -
At our place we have GSDs, rotties, aussie sheps, jrt and frenchies and not one of them has an issue with the size of the kibble. :) Yes, neither does my Golden...it goes down whole regardless of the size, I'd much rather her eat small kibble whole than large kibble lol

She does fairy runs? aww wow, I just picked up my bag from a service station lmao I didn't realise Julana was a member on here, she just PMed me to give me her dates for her next trips up to Brisbane... gotta love her service, happy to keep supporting her :) Considering you have just one midget dog...its no surprise one 3kg bag lasts forever lol, I have two large dogs...you do the math lol
-
Do you get yours from Julana? I've been meaning to send her an email to see when she is delivering up my way next, but I need to concentrate on studying for an exam...I'm not really on DOL....I'm just a figment of your imagination lmao

Does anyone with pups use the puppy formula? I have a 6 month old ACDx who has been underweight since the day we got him, he gets 2 cups of adult BH a day plus treats and a chicken wing (most days, sometimes we forget) but he is still really skinny, worming is up to date. He currently weighs 14.3kg, I think he needs to be about 15kg at the moment to be a good weight..so should I invest in some puppy BH to try and bulk him up a bit? or increase the adult food he is getting? 2 cups a day already seems like a lot
-
True. However I find it interesting that there are often threads in here about people getting rid of their dogs due to reasons such as this and most are up in arms about it. Actually, I think you will find that this is one of the more 'accepted' reasons for people rehoming their dog, the unacceptable ones were -we're having a baby -older dog doesn't like the new puppy -moving interstate -dog isn't fun anymore -dog won't learn how to behave
-
Sorry you've had to come to this decision, it must be hard. I don't have any advise sorry, but is she desexed? If she isn't then I would be getting her desexed prior to rehoming, that way there is no risk of getting into the hands of a BYB or puppy farmer

Poor girl, I signed and shared this on facebook

What a naughty girl...maybe she needs a scat mat in the door way...or a zappy collar My Lab can open the walk through baby gates, but after we set him up a couple of times and I slammed the riding crop down on the table behind him he stopped, and just sat and grunted at the gate. Lol, don't you wonder what goes through their mind when we use scare tactics like that? Our ACD pup used to peer into our kitchen window if we were preparing a meal and he was outside...a cup of water in his face soon fixed it!
