  1. UPDATE. My friend decided to get her female desexed today I didn't end up having to say too much to her, she reached the decision on her own.
  2. So sad for the parents They say you're not supposed to live past your children
  3. Oh :Steve , what a tragedy I am so sorry that this happened, how awful for you and your family. What a horrible thing for your son to witness RIP Vader Hugs to your family in this sad time
  4. I got Brennan after months of contacting other GSD breeder's. I was talking to a friend who breeds West Highland White Terrier's and Cairn Terrier's and she suggested Brennan's breeder, gave me the contact details. I rang later that afternoon and after having a good chat was told that in a few weeks I could come look at the Q litter which had been born on Anzac Day 2009 and the rest is history.
  5. Just got back from a walk with mine. Going to do some simple games with her, then let her out for a play in the backyard wit house mates dog whilst I go out for tea with my Mum.
  6. Brennan whines when she want's to go out.
  7. I second what Poodle Fan said about appealing and going for references from your new neighbours as well as vets. Good Luck--they sound like great dogs
  8. My breeder as well as a breeder friend of mine uses them, and are quite happy. If I can reccomend you to not go to Northern Veterinary Group- Elizabeth Park Vets on Yorktown Road. They are cheap but their customer service ( especially as shown by their receptionists) is very very poor.
  9. Aah I think I have seen that website, and yes it is very dangerous...
  10. Brennan will whine to go out for potty. For attention she will come up to me and put her face in mine and paw at the laptop or book or whatever I am doing. In the mornings she will lick me and nudge me with her nose to wake me up.
  11. Just saw the Today Tonight bit with the guy they featured before. It sickens me that this guy ( and many more like him) are still making money from the sale of pups. I am really confused why the RSPCA can not do more to stop this guy?
  12. Katy, she is gorgeous...a very pretty girl
  13. Poor dogs. Glad to see they are recovering though. Hope the person/s responsible is punished
  14. Aww puppy snubbing is the worst I always have time to comment or smile at a cute dog/puppy
  15. Thanks Staff 'N'' Toller I have put it on my Facebook page.....'''just to share''
  16. My friend has a 16month old Belgian Tervueren female who is unspayed and on the 6th of August she is getting a 9 month old un neutered male Belgian Tervueren ( without papers). Before she thought about getting the male she was talking about having 'one' litter from her female because ''she is a good dog, has a good nature and you don't see many of them in Adelaide, plus the breeder's are all out of the city'. She says that there are a few people at the dog park she goes to that said they would take a pup. When she first mentioned it I told her I did not think it was a good idea, I listed several reasons ranging from troubles that could happen in birth, to the fact that it is a lot of financial expenditure on her part to care for the mum and pups. I have friends who are registered breeders of Yorkshire terriers and West Highland White Terriers and I passed on a list of things that are to be expected/ or could happen with a litter of pups...including the fact that she may get a lot of people who had shown interest suddenly 'lose' interest in pups. Heck the breeder of the Westies even offered to let her volunteer with an upcoming litter. Well now that the male is coming next weekend she has again mentioned being interested in getting a litter from the dogs and selling all but one. I told her that she knows I don't like that idea and she got silent then said ''I know it would be a sh!t load of work''. My question is what would you do? This is a great friend of mine--we have been friends for 23 years since Reception at school. Is this a lost cause? should I pursue trying to educate her or do I give up for the sake of my friendship and for the fact I will be leaving the state in 4 months? Or do I keep on at her for the sake of the as yet unbred puppies?
  17. Looks like a lot of fun All gorgeous dogs in attendance too!.
  18. Sorry for your horrible experience ;) I agree that you should contact the Ranger and local council. What if this happens again? to an older person or a young child?. Personally I am not a fan of dog parks. In theory they are a great way for socialisation and also to meet new people. However I just do not like the risk of not knowing who will be there and what sort of dogs will come through those gates. I took my girl to one a few months ago and she was playing happily with a Labrador/ Rottweiler cross and a Deerhound, until all of a sudden her tail went down and she started to fall on the ground. I was lucky in that I am quite vocal about my dog and just shouted at the other dogs owner's tp ''get their dogs away from my dog as I got her out''. All the best Sid is a cutie
