  1. Raya, Spotlight have been selling waterproofed fabric for an ok price that the lady who make fleece coats could also sew into a raincoat. The fabric is like what they use to make waterproof aprons. Lots of floral colours at my Spotlight and it is reduced to $8 a metre. It is very lightweight so would be a good doggy raincoat if you liked the patterns it came in. Basically she would only need to make a hoodie style coat and if she puts a gap in at the centre back point where the hoodie connects to the body of the coat you can still clip on your dog's leash!
  2. Yes Powerlegs but it is a commercial pattern loaned to me for making coats for Peiradise so I can't copy or on forward it as it is in regular use! The pattern is still available to buy though - Kwik Sew pattern 3076 and it goes from XS to XL.
  3. It seems they may be close to finding her on a route that has seen her walking back to her home (an hour and a half by vehicle from the crash site). From what I can tell there is a river in the way but dog food treats have been taken today and there may be other indications that it is from her and not other wild animals that they are not yet releasing. Maybe they have found paw prints or doggy poop? Not sure but it wont hurt to send positive vibes as if it is her this pup has been on her own in the bush for 12 days and cold nights now.
  4. Paws for Life sent me an email saying I would have my delivery last Friday. Of course it didn't turn up. They stupidly sent me a customer satisfaction survey. They may be sorry about that when they read it - wrong timing for them!
  5. Part of me is terrified of being right and the other half of me is terrified of being wrong. I woke up today though feeling that they would have a definite outcome within the next couple of days. I have everything crossed for them and Cyan.
  6. Every now and then I look at Tempeh doing something incredibly cute and am still surprised she ended up with us, particularly as she is so damn gorgeous and we were never even planning to foster puppy aged or female dogs! It was all just a coincidence created by the universe. All three dogs are just so bonded to each other now and Temp has turned into a snuggle bunny with the cooler weather, which of course I love! If I can just get her to agree to dress ups (and being photographed in said outfits) I'd be in heaven. Not too much to ask is it?
  7. If there is a dumb blonde in the litter then Lara (as suggested by MUP) for Lara Bingle! But I also like Lexi and Lucia but both might sound a bit too much like Lucy to the pups. I also like Lolly (short for lollipop or Lollapalooza).
  8. I've joined the page and posted a smidge more detail on FB tonight. I still clearly see Cyan as safe and with this little family and that if they find out someone is looking for her they will make sure she is returned to her original family without wanting the reward. They are good people who think they have taken on a dumped/abandoned dog in need. They just have no idea so many people are looking for her.
  9. Happy Birthday Stan! Hope getting off the couch to protect your pie didn't exhaust you too much!
  10. Maybe also has her own song - "I just met you, this is crazy! Here's my number, so call me Maybe!"
  11. Boy boxer cross is Lionel - need 4 nice girl names please... we are running out of steam here! Using Lionel as a starting point what about Lucy, Lizzie and Layla?
  12. They're such weirdos sometimes, Mosley ate a whole packet of bird seed when he was little?! Who does that, it can't have tasted very good? When I lived on acreage and had chooks I would constantly be moving the grain bag thinking I had mice/rats getting into it. Nope, just two naughty SBTs! It must've been like eating dry weetbix!
  13. I use Vaseline to keep my lips moisturised (I hate dry lips). I usually buy a large jar but just put some into a little container to use. Today, garbage guts Stussy got into a large jar of the Vaseline and has licked/eaten half of it in one sitting. It is not her first self lubricating experience either! Surely it can't be that tasty?
  14. Gillbear cross post it to FB if you like. As I said I don't know the area so don't even know whether the road goes north/south or east/west and certainly didn't see a train line. I can only say what I see. The other things I get are the number 10 like she travelled 10km or there is a sign north of the rest stop that says 10km to the next town. I don't see her as having eaten anything (maybe drunk from puddles) as she was too distressed. I feel like it took her 2 or 3 days to get picked up and to travel to the rest stop. I honestly don't feel they have a clue someone is looking for her or what breed she is. I think they feel someone left her behind on the side of the road.
  15. you can pick up...they are at Kuraby, about 18k's from Beenleigh http://ovedshorseandpetstore.com.au/contact-us.html You know I looked at their site to see where they were based and couldn't find it. That's brilliant!!!! Guess where I'm off to tomorrow!
  16. Do you know what the psychic said DD because I had the following pop into my head about it the other day (and it is still clearly there). No idea if it is right because I don't know the area but here goes. Cyan ran north after the accident quite a long way due to adrenalin and fear. She ended up on the southbound side of the road where a truck and like a combi van were camped out. The truck driver picked her up and took her home because she was distressed and in the middle of nowhere. But the truck actually headed north (even though it stopped on the south bound side). The driver took the pup home and lives in a smallish town several hours (2 - 3 north). The family love the dog as they have never seen a crested before. They have young children. The truck driver will stop off at that same roadside rest stop again so if the family find it and they leave signs there they will be reunited. The driver simply doesn't know about micro-chipping and the like so saw a distressed dog and simply wanted to help it. In my mind the rest stop is the type where there is one on either side of the road. I can't see toilets but I can see green bins and it is reddish kind of dirt. The travellers in the combi type van might also see something about Cyan but of course don't know where the truck driver took her. I feel she is safe and well. Could be wrong!
  17. Omar's have very cheap Black Hawk prices! I will contact them re delivery prices for large bags though as they use Aust Post for smaller stuff and that can take time. DOL is fantastic for useful information!!!!
  18. Just had a look and they are a smidge more expensive for the black hawk (or Canidae) and we'd have to get a better and more expensive seniors kibble (no Advance on their site) but it's better than no kibble! They've already charged me for my current order so I think it will be chicken, rice and vegetables for the fur kids for a few days until the delayed kibble arrives. What a terrible 'First World Problem' my dogs are experiencing...
  19. I have been using the online site Paws for Life to buy my kibble in bulk and finally got myself to what I think is a regular delivery schedule from a supplier with reasonable rates. But every single delivery has been late and now I am actually going to run out of the Black Hawk one (already ran out of the Advance Seniors) and I am really not sure what to do. We'd be fine if the deliveries matched our repeat order timeframe. Changing my pei's diet for a short period is the last thing I want to do but I can't exactly go out and buy a small bag of black hawk to see me through. Extremely disappointed in my supplier now when I think of the flow on effect of this for my girl. None of my local pet shops stock either of the items I use. Has anyone else used this company over the longer term (I've only been using since January) and had similar issues or better luck? Does anyone have a company they'd consider more reliable for regular deliveries who also have reasonable prices?
  20. Oh that cracked me up! I remember a co-worker having to pull a long footy sock out of his dog's bum - apparently it just kept coming and coming and coming. Clearly dogs don't have great memories about poo issues - if I had to get someone to pull a sock out of my bum it would be the last time I ever ate one!
  21. Police later found he was wanted on a warrant to return to prison and needed a change of pants.
  22. Look at the very bottom of my post next to my sig - it says 'My Link' and will take you to the FB page where we fundraise with handmade goodies.
