Im really just thinking she was just being a sooky baby?? When we picked her up she stopped crying Anyway, she is OK now, albeit very fat I've tried to weigh her but she doesn't measure on my scales :S

Hi, Mischa is the one week old pup of Mollie, I posted the story HERE She isn't suckling from Mollie. We try and put her on as she is crying, but she wont latch on. She crawls away and yelps in the corner? Any ideas before I head off to the vet and get formula?
-
Ok, today, she has started crawling away from mum nd crying int he corner. I've tried to get her to latch on, but she wont. Vet suggested I get some formula from there and a small botlle and feed her that way? How do I know how ofen? And what about Mollies teats? I know how painful it is for humans to have a baby not feed.?

Just want to thank everyone for all their help. We have a few issues, but I am sticking them in the general forum HERE Thanks again. And please check in over there if you want to see how they are doing. Thanks again, Sally xx

Ah Ok- no ..tell Mum she is in the maternity ward for a reason! :D Thanks, ashanali. Thanks, Yeah, she is getting used to it. But now, Mischa is crawling, commando style into the corder of the box and just crying. Mollie is in there, happy to feed, but Mischa crawls away? Even when I try to latch her on??? Any ideas?

I was told there are alot of Border Collies in Mudgee, which is apparently where she "had her fun" This was a week before we got her, so I have no idea. Will have to wait and see I guess! @ Mentmint - Her name is Mischa, and we will keep her. @ Mars - She does kinda look like a guinea pig! LOL

Hi, Thanks for asking. Things are going well. Mollie is doing a fab job of being a mum. Though i was telling Alicia last night I feel so sorry for her when we go past and she gets so excited and wants to play, then realises she can't.

Though i was telling Alicia last night I feel so sorry for her when we go past and she gets so excited and wants to play, then realises she can't. Here are some more pics of Mischa, now 6 days old. Any ideas on what type of dog daddy is???

Thankyou everyone. Mollie and Mischa are both doing well. Mollie is even leaving here for a spell to go out inthe grass, or to come and say hello. Pup is just gorgeous, but very chubby, though I have no idea of what breed she is , so no clue on how big she should be.

Yes, I asked and they had no idea. They said she had gotten out once. Thats all it takes I guess! I'm thinking Mischa?? What do you think?
-
I know :D I feel sorry for her. And it certainly wasn't our doing. But she is coping really well. Thanks for your advice

She is outside, in a well protected undercover pergola area, between a fish tank and a lounge, no wind, rain sun etc. I can't bring her inside as we have a cat, and well.... she likes to chase and try to eat cats :D And what about mess if I have her inside? Will she leave the pup to poo and wee?? Sally

Heres another closer one of the pup. Any ideas on when they start using their legs? And when thier eyes open. I know about cats, but not pups, though I am learning REAL fast!!

Thanks Guys, She is 10 months now, 8 when we got her, and she is doing really well. Being a very good mum.

Sure Bonnie. Its a girl. Heres one, Ill need to resize others and post in a minute

Definitely an ON leash pup! We never let her off.... She'd run for days!! Im fairly certain she had her when they got back. He said she was really pulling hard on the leash to get home, so I guess she knew what was happening.

I think we will keep her, as I know they are pack animals and do best with a companion. I have added a pic of them

( suggest I repost here ) Hi, It was suggested to me that I join by Ashanali, whom I spoke to last night. She was very helpful, and thought this would also be a great place to start. Backstory... We adopted Mollie, a 8 month old Purebred Siberian Husky from a 13y.o girl who was given her as a gift, but after 8 months could no longer keep her due to moving. We were told she had just come off heat, so we wouldn't have to worry about that for a while.. Having had Samoyed' before, we decided to take her on. She is great, aside form the cat chasing, which, yes, we know is a husky trait. It is our intention to have her desexed. Anyway, 8 weeks ago, we picked her up. Gorgeous! Very playful. great with our boys 12, 11 & 4, gentle and very loving. Yesterday afternoon, AFTER my 12 year old took her for a walk, about 20 mins later, we hear an odd squeeking noise? Fist thought...she has caught a cat frown.gif ... After a few mins of searching, here is Mollie, with a tiny newborn PUPPY on her chest!! My first thought was where did she find that, thinking there is no way its hers, but it turns outt hey are only pregnant for 9 weeks, and well, we have had her for 8. She has put on no weight, not done anything out of character, still going for walks, eating, jumping, playing, chasin cats, all the regular stuff......Eeeek. She only had one. We had her checked, no more in utero, so it was just one. She is doing well, as is pup. My concern is that my 10 month old pup just had a pup! She seems to be doing really well, lookiong after baby well, feeding etc.. But I don't know what to do next. If anyone could offer any useful advice, It would be much appreciated. Sally
