  1. Well done Shell! Damn these allergies are making my eyes water.
  2. So happy hes been found! Hmmm, ok then, I was just saying a few weeks ago to OH that we should take the mutts to this park. Change of plan me thinks.
  3. Ill keep an eye out as Im not too far away and my SIL,MIL live in those suburbs.
  4. I would get a second opinion before operation to check the severity of his knees. He is still a pup and has alot of growing to do yet. My vet advised to wait until 12mths and reasses Bonnie as alot of the time the tendons will tighten up on there on accord. Bonnies knees were very bad, especially her left one (she summersaulted when chasing her toy) but at her 12mth check she has absolutly no issues with them anymore! She can climb, jump on 1.6m surfaces, does zoomies up and down the garden with the husky. Deffinatly suggest getting a second opinion before any operations.
  5. Sorry i didnt save it, what happend to it? Do you want us to post our replies again?
  6. Take him to the vet asap. My girl had the same thing when she was 7mths, vet discovered two dislocating knees. Luckily age has tightend them and she wont need an op but she still cant handle lying to hard surfaces.
  7. I was treated to a cuddle after Bonnie dug up and started playing with our rabit Roxy that had been buried for two weeks. Needless to say I made OH go and collect the reminants of my beloved bunny and bin her in a bin FAR FAR AWAY, sorry Roxs. Note to self, bury in the front garden next time, ewwww.
  8. Persephone- i really didnt want to use the glue traps but I ran out of options this week. They kept springing the normal traps, couldnt bait, was going to buy a ratzapper but yeah, very short on funds and I couldnt justify spending more they another $2 trying to get rid of it right now. It was only on there for no more then 5min. Deffinatly didnt want to use the glue trap but I had no choice, sorry. I will be getting a ratzapper whenever we can though .
  9. One rat down, one to go. CC you were right. The rat got caught on a glue trap FINALLY and the Bonnie took off with it. Seriously though, having two dogs that are ment to have huge prey drives and they couldnt even dispatch a rat! I ended up having to get a shovel and dispatch it myself. The two morons just took it to the grass and just kept licking it, letting it run, catching it, licking it again. Indie gave up and went to bed so I had Bonnie bring her new "pup" to me and gave it a whack on its head. Lazy dogs. Guess atleast I know the rabbits are safe if they ever escape.
  10. Sorry I wasnt being smug I was under the assuption they were still DDs. Regarding all laughing I was laughing mainly at my friends.Refering to them as pure bred some 12years ago when these parents most certainly werent throwing true pups is what I was laughing at. I met a few of their pups and they deffinatly were not consitant in type and constantly had litters on the ground going for ridiculous prices. After rescuing so many dogs I thought they had more sense then buying from a byb.
  11. According to some labxpoodle friends their dogs are pure breed"labradoodles" because the are 7th generation and have papers to proove it This coming from people that have rescued dogs from shelters all their lives and then got their labradoodles from "proper" breeders and paid a small fortune ;) That is in Scotland by the way. edit for spelling. ps sorry I used the forbiddin DM name
  12. Thanx adnil. You never know one day I may even we able to take both dogs out at the same time. Indie is a dream dog but Bonnie gets very protective of him then they walk together so they havent been out together in about 5months. Blissfull Bonnie walks are in sight and Im so looking forward to them.
  13. Bonnie earned her good behaviour points today! Next stop footy games! Took her for a walk today with the double pram and 3yr old walking so I put on the halti as I couldnt afford for her to act up if she saw another dog. We passed 3 dogs within 1min of our walk starting. She saw them at a distance and didnt give her normal dominant signals, was wagging her tail and quiet until we got about 2m away and then started barking but excited barking with lots of crying inbetween. She was pulling, jumping around but as soon as we passed them she settled. We stopped at the park and when a resident dog started barking and growling she just gave a few barks and cries then settled and ignored within 20seconds!!!! We passed two houses with dogs free in the front yards (friends with both owners) and on both occasions she barked 3 or 4 times then just sat wagging her tail like crazy at my feet. She jumped up twice when the 1st houses dog came for sniff and then she just ignored it. Told her to lie down and she just laid there and PLAYED!!!!! At the second house she laid down as soon as I told her (no jumping up) and played so gently for over half an hour!!! The owners were both present ofcourse. I am gobsmacked! I have been working hard with her but I didnt think I would ever be able to let her interact with other dogs, especially bitches! So proud of her. I took photos on my mobile and sent them to OH ,he cant belive it either, asking if I drugged her before I walked her lol. We are on our way to having a dog safe Bonnie....yay! Thankyou to everyone for all the help and advise they have given me with Bonnie and for relating stories of their own dogs doggie issues, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
  14. Beautiful post, thankyou for posting this for us all to read. Rescuers and foster's you are truely amazing, beautiful souls, thankyou for dedicating your lives to our needy fur friends. Thankyou!
  15. lol damn I guess I should put childlocks on, not for the 4kids under 5 but the dogs lol. Indie can open doors with handles and sliding doors so I guess its only a matter of time before he figures it out.
  16. I cant help you with the answers but are you sure its just the males in these two breeds that have issuses with the same sex? My experience in breeds that tend to have "same sex" issues, the females are often far worse at have issues with other females.
  17. Tell me about it! Trust me they looked very smug tucking into t-bones tonight whilst we had shepards pie
  18. Snap, thats what I did yesterday, swore I would get around to doing the folding and moping floors today.....ummmm didnt happen, wanted to cuddle my nice clean dogs instead
  19. OMG I just watched a few seconds of the video, I feel sick to the pit of my stomach. Crying for those poor puppies . Absolutly disgusted! How sick can people be, lost for words, feel so ill after seeing that, how can anyone do that!
  20. Well done James! Very impressed he ditched the zoomies for a sit! I did the "Ive let the dog go" when TJ my Saluki was a pup....unfortunatly his zoomie consited of running flat out in the direction of home and finding the only gate out of the park! Lucky I lived in a small town and a woman driver stopped when she saw him and made a grab for his leash, he and I were both so lucky she saw him and blocked his path. My poor old papillion was trailing way behind me trying to catch us up (Tyke was offleash but TJ was onleash and was never let offleash again0. He always had a long line at the beach and would do zoomies in huge circles around us. Thankfully he had zero prey drive but I would still never trust him offleash again.
  21. Well the dogs got back at me for giving them a bath yesterday. At some point yesterday morning I obviously left the people freezer ajar (dogs have their own freezer in the garage), I only discovered it just now. Mmmm well needless to say I have just lost a couple weeks worth of meat. The mutts are going to be dinning on t-bones, roasts, 2 cattle mans cuttlets , the list goes on . Dont tell my OH, that was his coming home dinner on friday ...Who ever said it was cheaper to feed raw?!
