BB - Here is a bit of a hit for you! Casey has grown so much! Casey at the beach I have a few questions to ask about her... I want to get into Canine Freestyle with her. I understand that it isn't too popular here, especially in Cairns, but I want to give it a go anyway. So far she knows how to Sit, Drop, Hi 5 and Crawl, but she will only do it in a sequence. She will sit when I tell her to, but the others she won't do unless it's a sequence of all that she knows. Is this a bad thing? Or should I just keep doing it this way until she is a bit older and will understand more (or is that wrong? She should understand now?) Also, am I forcing too many tricks on her? She is only 12 weeks old and sometimes I think she still needs 'puppy time'. I just thought it would be better to teach her as much as I can as soon as I can. I only teach her tricks twice a day for 10 minutes at a time, she gets a bit sick of it after that. I just want us to have a great bond, and I think something like Canine Freestyle, or Agility would be the way to go. I'm just not sure how to go about it all.

Hey guys! I've only skimmed through the last few pages so the messages are going to be a little short. BF - OMG Zoe is just sooooooo cute! Nic - This is the first time I've owned a BC so I'm not too sure what to expect. So far so good. She knows how to sit, stay, hi 5 and drop. She just loves to sit out the front (we don't let her out the back as we let some big snakes go out there a while before we got her, but we still see them around!). She just loves to sit on the front porch/grass and watch the world go by. We live in a cul-de-sac (or however you spell it) so it's safe for her to stay out the front. She never goes past the car in the drive way. Matt - Diesel is just GORGEOUS! Poppy - I've never met your new pup, but I just love her so much just from seeing her pics! Awww Jodi - How exciting for you! Sorry to say, but the next 2 months are going to d r a g o u t! Lauren - Your new pup is so cute! I just want to squeeze her! HI EVERYONE ELSE!

I'm so sorry to hear that oakey . I've only ever had to put young cats/kittens to sleep, but I'm sure it is just as hard. Poppy - I must have jinxed myself...she is getting more naughty by the day Hi everyone!

Sorry to hear that belgian That happened to me with the last newfie litter. I wanted a brown male, there was only 1 in the litter and the breeder decided to keep him :D jess - hopefully you get some good news soon ;) Lauren - Maggie is adorable! Poppy - I forgot about feb lol. I can't wait until she has had her needles so I can start walking her! I must say, she has been the most well behaved pup I have ever had, and she will just follow me EVERYWHERE and sit or lay at my feet. Aww :D

Yeah, I was thinking about dog names when I first saw her and had the 'feeling' that she would be coming home with us. I want to tell everyone now, but I think I'll wait until I post a pic

BlueFairy - I'm sorry to hear about your son, but I'm glad that everything with you is ok ;) Ooooooooo I was trying to keep it a secret until I got pics, but I just can't hold it anymore... WE GOT A PUPPY!!!!!!!!!! ;) It isn't our Newfoundland, but we are glad to have her. She is one of those 'suprise' puppies that just happen. My partners dad was killed in a car accident last Wednesday and we went down to Townsville for his funeral the Wednesday just passed, and their Border Collie dogs had pups. They were all gone except for 1 little brown girl. She had no interest in her and my partners dads wife wasn't up to advertising her just yet, so she offered her to us when we left. The day before, I just knew she would be coming home with us, and she did! It was a 4hr drive back home and she was GREAT! She didn't wee, poo or even cry in the car! She only did her wee wee's when we stopped. I love her to bits and can't wait to post some pics, but my camera crapped itself and I have gotten a friend to take some pics. She won't be able to upload and send them to me until tonight though, but I start work at 7 so I prob won't be able to post them until tomorrow. I tried to keep it a secret, I really did and I think I did pretty well hiding it for 2 days. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They won't cost that much...Even using the best food. I bet you are exited about the pup I'm super excited! Except I got the months wrong...I should be getting my newfie in October/November! Thanks! I have waited so long already and don't know how much more I can wait until I burst!

Yeah I haven't heard anyone else bad mouth them either. I just got bad luck. The thing was, I had to drive 2.5hrs each way to the airport to pick the dogs up. I organized a date and everything, drove out there, then am told that they couldn't fit on that flight and that they will be flying in a few days. Nobody called and told me despite the fact that I had called up twice that day to make sure they would be there! The only good thing they did was void the kennel keeping fees.

Blue Fairy - Not much going on here . Although I should be looking at it as it is 1 day closer to my pup! The only thing I really have going for me at the moment is that I am going to meet up with the breeder in about 2 weeks. That should be good! I've had to change my signature date aswell. I read the email again, and the pups won't be born until Aug/Sep, so I think it's safe to say November is when I will get my pup. Happy Birthday aswell! I hope you and your husband have a great dinner :D jakeyjangels - Jangles is adorable! Little fat thing he is! Costa's mum - I've used JetPets before.....what a bad experience THAT was!

Blue Fairy - I'm sorry to hear about your past experiences, but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with these concerns. The breeder I'm on the list for was meant have had 2 litters recently, but when it was due time, apparently she wasn't pregnant. I would just DIE if it happened again. On the plus side, I found out today that there are a few newfies up here too. I live in Cairns and A LOT of people have advised AGAINST me getting a newfie due to the heat. I have spoken to many breeders and they say that aslong as I keep them cool (which I have a pool, he will have his own doggy pool, and the beach is 2 min away), he will be fine. Maverick - Your pup is gorgeous! I have a bad memory and can't remember what's going on with everyone else, but HIIIIIIIII!

To all those who still need to wait months and months for their puppy (like myself), do you ever get worried that by the time it is THE time, that the bitch won't be in pup? I've had it happen to me before and it's really REALLY upsetting. I know I shouldn't think about stuff like that, but I can't help it. Almost 3yrs I have been waiting for a newfie

Niques - Yes I have a breeder and parents lined up for my little man. I was actually on the recent waiting list of hers for a brown pup, but she decided to keep him . I've since given up on waiting for a brown (way too many years waiting!) and am going to get a little black boy. I am going to meet the breeder when I go down to Sydney this month for my sisters wedding. Am I allowed to name kennels and that on here? Jules - Flynn is gorgeous! It's hard to keep up with this thread! Red Ruby - Ruby is just toooooo cute! I don't know how you can handle not eating her all up! JaxD - Badger is so cute! Especially in that last photo awww Those corgi pups are just (can't think of a cute enough word so just sqweals)! Not much going on with me puppy wise. He is still just a twinkle in his daddys eye for the moment *sigh*

I hope they don't cost that much :D I'm getting my newfie pup in Aug/Sep! When I had my lab and medium cross breed, I spent maybe $30-$40 a week.

Welcome Jodi! I have a fairly long wait for my pup too...It sucks, but I know he will be worth it Didles, I was so suprised and upset to hear about your pup, but I'm glad you decided to keep him. He is a very lucky puupy! I can't wait to see his piccies :D everyone else

What is wrong with some people!!! :D He should be jailed for 10 years and THEN not allowed to own or have interest in any animal for another 10! Unbelievable!

It's funny though, because although I have been waiting years for my brown boy, it feels more 'right' getting this little unborn black boy. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!
