  1. Hi mich&jake, We just love the black and white and found a male that fits our time perfectly. We got a few names thought out for eg Oreo and Shorty(my housemate who graduated was nicknamed shorty by me). We were thinking of naming after her because she went back to her country and we miss her. I have read about and looked at Georgia in the posts earlier and she is gorgeous. How many weeks more do you have to wait? Nicola
  2. Hi everyone, I am so excited becoz my puppy will arrive here on 30th march! It's a BC puppy and he is coming from NSW. We got a crate, pet tent, bed and will buy more toys soon! Congrats to everyone who got their puppies. Alll of them are just too cute! Can't wait to get a cuddle from mine!! Hope everyone's wait will be a shorter one. Haha few more sleepless nights to go. Regards Nicola
  3. I got one of those already. Thanks for the recommendation! Looks great and should be useful.
  4. Hi guys i was just wondering what is the usual price for 16kg pack of dry food. I saw Royal Canin was like $110 and Coprice is only $30+. Why is there so much difference in the price??? Is Coprice substandard?
  5. Hi people, My girlfriend and I are about to get a puppy and would like to sign up with Pet Insurance Australia but we are not sure what does excess mean. We don't really understand what is the difference between Comprehensive Cover and Major Medical Cover. Can someone please explain to me? And what is an excess? Thanks Nicola
  6. Agreed. Thats why we are pretty sure we will get a puppy from her.
  7. LOL LMAO ROFL!!!! Sorry double post.
  8. Update on overbite puppy. There was a late reply from the breeder because she went to ask a lot of questions about overbite and getting replies from friends and vets. She told us: She will take picture of the overbite and show us tommorow. The overbite is not obvious. As far as she can be certain, the only problem Zorro may encounter is that he may need a tooth out of it if it is a problem to him later in life. The overbite should not get any worse, it could improve as he matures and grows. They will start him on adult dog food to stop any growth spurts. She spoke with people's dogs who has overbites, and they are very happy and have no problems with health, or eating etc. All the puppies ate chicken neck with no difficulty. She will sell the puppy to us with full confidence, if at any stage that I dont want him, she will refund my money and take him back. She will provide advice to us for the rest of his life so we wont be left dangling. My girlfriend and I have decided to take the puppy in the condition that he is healthy. We will get him a vet check when he comes to us to make sure the overbite is not too serious. Any advice?
  9. The breeder haven't called me today and haven't replied my emails yet so there is not much I could do but wait for her reply. I will update as soon as she calls me.
  10. Hi guys, thanks for the replies! I read everything once again and found out that most of you say that if the overbite is not too serious then it shouldn't affect the puppy. How much is too much? More than 5mm? More than 10mm?
  11. Thanks so much! That was exactly what i was looking for. I will be looking to crate-train my dog. Do you know where can I find good, steady and relatively cheap crates?
  12. We are not sure of the extent of the Overbite yet. I replied to the breeder's email last night at about 11pm and hopefully she will call me at about 4pm in the afternoon. When we contacted the breeder, she only had 1 puppy left but the puppies were not chosen for which homes to go to yet. Therefore i don't think I have a choice (I could ask later). I will ask for a health guarantee from the breeder and ask more about overbite severity. For my GF and I, we just don't want the puppy to need surgery to fix it up when he is older. I will discuss about all the possible options later on with the breeder. Sorry about the mistake. I misread the email she sent to me. She said the puppies had their NEEDLES and microchipped done on the same day. Does that mean they are vaccinated?
  13. The puppy will only be a pet for me and it won't be shown. The breeder offered to call me and discuss about the puppy. What should I ask regarding the overbite should I ask?
  14. mmmm I'd be a bit iffy with a Breeder who didn't know one of their pups had an Overbite and it was the Vet who found it. Are you buying from a Registered Breeder? The overbite shouldn't be a problem granted it's not grossly over, perhaps you can ask to speak to the Vet before the puppy is shipped. You want to see the results of the health testing before you get the pup. How do you find out whether they are registered breeder or not? Sorry for the newbie question.
  15. I found them on DOL breeder listing and they do show their dogs. The breeder told me that it is ONLY noticable when they open his mouth. So i guess its not too serious? I am just afraid that when it grow older, I may have to spend lots of money getting it fixed. He is fit, healthy and eating well. So would you guys suggest that I look for another breeder instead? I have asked my cousin who is doing Vet Science to ask his lecturer and hopefully he can tell me more about it tonight.
  16. I have read about BC before. They are healthy breed and only has problem with CL, TNS and CEA. They have already been tested. I was just wondering that we ask for copies of health cerfiticates before we buy or do we get them after the pup is bought?
  17. I totally agree with you about getting all the health checks and temperaments. We are buying the puppy interstate so we could only believe what the breeder said. They have done hip/elbow scoring on the parents and temperaments of the parents are good. Some pups from the litter are outgoing and some are more layback. The breeder also said they will send the diet sheet together with the paperwork to us. I feel that they are good breeder but this is my first puppy so I might be wrong. Thanks for the advice again.
  18. Thanks for the reply. We were really happy that the breeder was completely honest with us about a problem. I think the puppy is 6 weeks old now because he was micro-chipped today and had his vaccination today. That is when the vet found out about the overbite. The breeder also told us that it is not noticable unless we open his mouth and the puppy is eating well. The vet says they rarely have any problems and keep an eye on its teeth on yearly check-ups. Does that sound all right to you?
  19. Hi everyone, I was just looking to buy a BC puppy but the breeder told me that the puppy we like has an overbite. I was just wondering what implications it might have? Does it require surgery? Should I buy the puppy? Can someone give me some advice. Thanks Nicola
  20. I am not a breeder but have been doing research on this breed. I am pretty sure Choc/Whites and Blue/Whites are recessive colours. Breeders usually breed for temperaments and stuff like that but not colours. Be careful of anyone who charge more for Choc/Whites and Blue/Whites. They are usually not good breeders (some breeders told me that). Good luck.
  21. Congratulations. My OH and I are going to get our BC pup soon as well. Very excited as well!
  22. Already changed the title of the topic. I just went to check on the website and its really cheap. I will just double check with my breeder and see what she recommends to use. I am a first time dog owner! There is a shop near my girlfriend's house where we can find shop that don't sell animals as well. We will get our stuff from there. Thanks for the suggestion. I am just wondering does anyone know where can i purchase Coprice puppy dry kibbles? My breeder feeds her dogs using that. EDIT: Found it!
  23. Hi everyone, They are gorgeous!! Lovely brown BC and CKCS. My girlfriend and I are going to get a BC as well but we are getting black and white. We just prefer that colour. Haha the BC is about 6 weeks old. We are hoping to get the puppy on 30th March but depends on how the breeder and carrier discuss over the transport(interstate). Congrats on those who got their puppy!!
