Just got some news back from the vet. They have ruled out a parasite. And we are switching to proplan.

Was thinking of going the Pro plan. Why would I look at getting a second opinion?

Got a call from the vet this afternoon. He has low white blood cells. Could be one of three things. A parasite, some sort of allergies or cancer.

We arn't sure if he is sick yet waiting for the blood tests to come back. He is 9years old. Yes you can see his ribs and vertebrae. He weighs 27.53kgs Would the pro plan be better for him?

I have been told to feed my labs Purina 1 senior or Purina 1 chicken and rice. I have found a 20kg bag of Purina Pro Plan chicken and rice. Is this the same product? It's for a very skinny lab.

Can I do plain greek yogurt and mix it with their dry food?

It all came out on Saturday night Sunday morning. They had their first meal again today and have been drinking water. Will check the backyard tonight and fingers crossed they are solids. Can you suggest anything to calm their stomach?

My dogs got into chicken food and now have the runs. Very very watery and full of grains. One of them is due to be desexed on wednesday morning and I am after advice of whether I should go ahead?

We are getting there. She is picking them up fairly quick. Its funny her idea of sitting is putting her ass in the air. She has now learn't that this is not sitting and won't get a treat for it. Thank god she now eats treats. She didn't know what to do with them when I first got her. But how can you say no to liver and beef... Need to get her walking into a room with people she doesn't know and not drop to the ground first. Then we are going straight to school. I own the two danes and my mum owns the labs. I did it with my first girl and she turned out well. My animals come first and my boss knows that which is good. Will post some pics when she has put on some more weight. Also what is the ideal weight for a non-desexed 5month old female pure breed dane?

What is the Triangle of Temptation? No she isn't for Albury. She is a blue Merle. She eats well with the other dogs but she hasn't learnt to sit or wait or anything for that matter. She is now walking well on the lead. But we still have our moments.

I would love to. I work 7days a week from 7am to 7-8pm most nights. So yes it would be nice to get up earlier but I work long hours. Sleep is precious to me as I am up 4-5times a night.

I have a new puppy/dog. She is a 5month old great dane. I have three other dogs at home (2Labs 1Dane) My new girl has had absouletly no training at all. Any tips on how to teach her with the other dogs around. Lots of people say separate her at feeding time. I feed the at 6:30 in the morning as I start work at 7 so don't have time to separately feed them. The other dogs have learn't their bowls and only eat theirs. Any advice is a help. Thanks

Does anyone have any tips on how to stop there dogs from barking at night all night long? My 9month old Dane has now decided that she has to play with my other dane who is 5months old and not well. If she doesn't get up and play she barks at her and pisses her off enough to bark back and growl

The bowls have a rubber bottom so don't make noise or move around. I think she is people shy.

She did eat last night and this morning. Would just like to do it with the other dogs aswell. Also she is 5months old so I don't want it to become a problem with food.

I think the play date idea is great. I did the puppy preschool and it was good. I went to the next class up and was very unimpressed. If anyone knows of anyone in the Canberra/Queanbeyan area that wants to do a playdate with large dogs please feel free to let me know.

She was fine with the other dogs. Even tried to eat out of one of the others bowl. It seemed like she was move scared of me. I moved the bowl towards her and walked away with the other dogs.

I have just bought a new great dane puppy and I am a bit confused as to what to do. I have three other dogs at home and they all get along great. They new girl is fine with them. When I brought her home last night she sat in the door way and stayed there till dinner time. All the other three ate. She sat there looking at the wall. I eventually coaxed her into eating by putting piece by piece in her mouth. We then moved onto eating out of my hand to finally eating out of the bowl. This morning was a similar thing she did eat out of the bowl with out doing the whole hand to bowl thing. But it was like she was scared to eat out of the bowl. She did but with her head out stretched not wanting to move close to the bowl. Any ideas on what I should do. There was no aggression so should I just put the bowl down and wait for her to go to it? Any advice would be great thanks.

She is eating the large breed puppy. The marrow bones are just a treat.

I have had her for 5months. She was was eating science diet dry food and 1 chicken carcasses morning and night. I feed her the science diet. I started her on marrow bones tonight and she loves them. I have tried to post on the other page but it won't let me.

I bought her from a lady in canberra. I have marrow bones coming tomorrow.

She is eating Science Diet Large Breed Puppy and is getting 3cups in the morning and 2 1/2cups at night. I am getting minced chicken carcasses for her tomorrow. I an also thinking of getting some marrow bones for her coz my labs love them and the vet has said this is fine. Any ideas please tell.

Hi I have a 8 month old Great Dane puppy and to 8year old Labradors. I am wondering if any one has some suggestions as to what I should be feeding them? I had one of my Labs at the vet last week due to weight loss and she recommended increasing the food which I have but now my Dane is trying to get the Labs food as they are on wet food aswell as dry. She gets dry food only as I have been told that any other food can cause her bones to grow incorrectly. She was eating whole raw chickens when I first got her. Some advice would be much appreciated.
